I believe they reduced the size of the haptic feedback module in the 13 mini to make room for the bigger camera module and larger battery so your experience with the haptic feedback feeling different between the two phones could very-well be justified! For someone who has a 12 mini with 85% battery life, would you say it’s better to pay the $80 to replace the battery with Apple or to spring for the 13 mini, which would be a $400-500 cash outlay? I would probably aim to keep either phone for 3-4 years, depending on when I start to notice performance degradation as iOS continues to update.
I’m in the same dilemma(existing 12 mini owner at 75%), however, I’ll like to spring for the brand new 13 mini at a discount, but the catch is I will only use it when the 12 mini is literally dying. Any advice is welcom.
@@whizzardblizzard5696 I ended up trading in my 12 mini and getting the 13 mini. The battery is noticeable better so for me, it felt worth it. I’d say give it a shot and you can always return it in the return window if you don’t notice a tangible difference
I think the 13 mini is worth it - the A15 is more efficient and the battery is a sizeable jump. It's a better place to be. I wouldn't spend the $80 with the Mini.

Here in new zealand cheapest used based model iPhone 13 mini is outrageous $900-1000 from retailer. And iPhone 12mini is $600ish. Not worth the upgrade in my view

They're basically the same phone. You get a smaller form factor 5.4 vs 6.1 or better battery life on the larger phone. Because of the smaller screen the Mini has a slightly higher pixel density.

Frankly, I'm a low budget RUclipsr lol , don't have the resources to put a new battery in the phone just for the comparison. That's why I'm at least transparent about the health. It's pretty widely stated across forums and other RUclipsrs that the 13 mini gets a few hours more than the 12 mini.
@@zircoben With my use, after an average work day, I ended up with 25% battery left on the 12 mini and 35% left on the 13 mini, so they both needed charging at night anyway. In other words, the 13 mini does indeed have a longer battery life, but the difference is not large enough to change the frequency of charging, at least for my use. I tried both phones, which I bought brand new from Apple, for 1 week and ended up returning the 13 mini since the difference in image quality and battery life was insignificant and I much preferred the 12 mini's design (the diagonal arrangement of the cameras and the larger protrusion of the camera module on the 13 mini were an eye sore for me and I didn't like the thicker body either, plus I love the dark blue on the 12 mini!)
My question is what kind of screen on time were you getting with the 12 mini? Would've been interesting to see at 100 percent battery health on the 12 mini if there was much of a difference between them. I'm considering getting a refurbished iPhone 12 mini off of Amazon renewed and putting in a new battery if I have to. Just curious at 85 percent battery health if you were getting decent screen on time?
😂😂😂 You're funny. The good thing about them being discontinued is that they are cheap to get when buying refurbished. I got my 12 mini a couple of weeks ago for under £200. Big difference from the preowned 13 mini's which are still around £300 plus.
