I grew up with Soupy in Detroit. I can't believe I'm still laughing at this stuff 50 years later.

These Soupy-White Fang skits just keep getting funnier. It's great to see so many of them posted here, since the commercial DVD releases contain the same few repeatedly.
Clyde Adler was an amazing guy; his portrayal of White Fang and Black Tooth was MILES above that of Frank Nastasi, a pale imitator who did the voices in New York. But I never saw Nastasi acknowledge Clyde Adler as the creator of Fang, since I get the feeling Frank was perfectly content with the impression that HE was responsible for Adler's classic work.
Clyde was one of the technical/stage crew in Detroit, who happened to have an awesome talent for voices and puppetry His man-at-the-door routines were also hilarious--- sometimes pulling off his White Fang "arm", rushing around behind the set, just in time to knock on the door and start his dialogue.
Soupy and Clyde were rare talents, often profoundly funny and yet child-like in their fantasy
    on-screen relationship. LR

In his book, Soupy called him "the nut at the door".

Frank Nastasi’s White Fang was awful in my opinion. Clyde Adler was a natural.
