A painful defeat. We were certain to reach the final and win the trophy again. But... if we lost, then it had better be against Denmark. The way they won the tournament (and beat Germany!) was incredible. Well deserved, especially since the players were already on holiday just before they were called to be qualified after all

Euro 1992 was a brilliant tournament. Denmark were brilliant and deserved to win it. I always think back to the Danish full back who twisted his knee in the tournament, one of the worst injuries I've seen on TV.

Fun fact: A guy in the northern part of Denmark was selling t-shirts at a place, where tourist buses would stop. The t-shirts read: Denmark - Germany 2-0.
This is even more incredible if you consider that Denmark's best player in history (Michael Laudrup) didn't play at this Euro. Schmeichel also made a massive mistake on that first goal as well.
