Wow seeing that Select has really made me want it. The pose-ability options mean a lot to me as that's basically how I have fun with these figures as an adult. I don't have the imagination to play with these in the tub anymore so posing them is where it's at for me. So in that instance I gotta give it to the Select. Great video Glenn.

This is a hard comparison... Legends articulation is a little better... but the select has really good accessories. But legends has pizza. SO HARD TO CHOOSE! I like both.
Great video I think I'd side with the Marvel legends one, because as much as I love the diamond select spidey, the long upper legs stick out to me a lot more than the long torso does. Also, why do you a comparison between Winter Soldier and Captain America?
I customized my select Spider-Man so that I can tilt the head further back. I just cut out the last two small squares of the web design located at the back/top of the neck using an exacto knife. This will allow the pin of the ball joint to go further back. You won't damage the figure and it's not even noticeable.
Taking your "burning house scenario", you know what I would do? The unthinkable. I would take cover as a meat shield to save both figures. These figures are so amazing! Spectacular even! WEB OF!! (Also, yeah, id sacrifice myself to become ash and chard to save action figures.....*sniff*...:'(. )
Shin Computer-Monster Wouldn't the figures still be part of the house that is burning down? You dying a gruesome death wouldn't save the figures for that much longer as your burning corpse would actually be further fueling the fire. Literally.
I liked the sculpted webbing in the Select version. Yes, at first, it may not seem to do any difference, but when putting it under light, it give a cooler look. That being the red might reflect some light, but the webbing is still seen as it is engraved and as a result you see the sculpt still even under a light. In contrast, the Legends version's webbing is painted, and under bright lights, the shiny plastic shines, along with the webbing. This makes the webbing disappear almost, and makes it look odd to my eyes.
While Select has some a long way I still prefer the Legends, if only for sentimental reasons as it's one of the first Legends I picked up along with a Heroic Age Iron Man and Scarlet Witch.
Nice! The limited leg-spreading articulation is my biggest issue with the Pizza Spidey mold since the spiders it's generally used for are supposed to be athletic characters.

I love them both its like choosing a favorite child.its well done. Not sure if you had this problem but the blue painted over the pegs is chipping on mine. It shows me why a molded peg with two colors is necessary for the definite version.
Love your videos Glenn! You've definitely helped make a few purchases since I started watching. Do you overall prefer Select or Legends in general? Or is it always case-by-case? I've found the cheaper and better quality Select line to be more preferable over Legends.

The Select looks to be using y-jointed hips, is that correct? I used to be against that joint only cause they were frustrating to utilize on the first figures I got but I'd be more for them now especially with how limited recent t-jointed hips have been.
That's it, I'm getting the spectacular spiderman! I was getting the Amazing Spiderman 2 one, but this one is much better, the peter parker face and the baggy mask accesory of this one makes it so much better. Ang given that I like the 7 inch scale better it's a no brainer for me.

Is the red area between the shoulder blades of the Legends ones blur, or is that just the video not doing it justice? That area on mine seems a bit darker for some reason like the red paint isn't as think, but doesn't appear blurry.

I really like the marvel select spider-man better. For me, it's the colours that remind me of the 60's cartoon and that pulls on my heart strings a bit more than the legends.
I have a select spiderman but it's the other one I also have the Legends spiderman but it has a lighter blue over all I like the legends one more but if I had this select spiderman it would definitely be a winner
The neck on the a Legends is not quite long enough. You can get it on but the head won't snap back on the ball. That MS Strange is great. One I'm sure Ditko would approve. It's deco looks gritty like those way out books he used to draw.
I'm going for the legends. I like the coloring more, and the head sculpt. But what really makes me like the select less is the fact that it has y jointed hips. Why? That's the worst way to engineer hips! Even the weird DCUC style is better! And, if it's something with the articulation limit, the waist swivel is pointless if you have a diaphragm joint. And did they really need the boot cut? As you can tell, I hate y joints.

I much prefer the toys of the 90's that just had 5 points of articulation. Sure you couldn't put them in many poses, but at least they didn't have a load of weird looking joints and ridges all over the place.
