Agree that WVU could've been GREAT if Rich Rodriguez stayed. The same could've been said for other coaches such as Greg Schiano, Charlie Strong & Brian Kelly but the Big East was not a desirable location so those great coaches really had no choice but to leave.

I was never a WVA fan, but I loved that 07 team. You're right, that backfield was the most fun thing to watch as a football fan. They had it all: power, speed, shiftiness, all on demand every play. I don't think we'll ever see a backfield quite that dynamic again. I really wish they had been given a shot at the natty in 07... that Pitt loss still pisses me off.

They were definitely a lot of fun to watch but like most all Mountaineer fans I would love to know the truth about the Pitt game . I was physically sick for days after this game and it never dawned on me at the time that something was very wrong. There was definitely something very shady going on but I don't know who all was involved. I know this team could have beaten Pitt with their second string and I couldn't believe what I was seeing while.I watched. I would like to know if Rich Rodriguez was involved, what it might have to do with his decision to go Michigan when he had previously turned down the Alabama job. There are just too many indicators that this game was not on the level and I don't think you can convince Mountaineer fans otherwise. As much as White and Slaton accomplished in their careers in the most important game they were no shows and Pat McAfee missed two extra point field goals that would have given us a close win. I don't think I will ever get over that game it was one of the worst days of my life and I don't see us coming that close to a national championship in my lifetime.
