I'm 51 and have been playing guitar for over 40 years. There are some guitarists that are so underrated it's sickening. Oz Fox and Michael Sweet are amazing. I started out with Ace from Kiss, then Malcolm and Angus, then fell completely in love with Randy Rhoads and Eddie. From there all of the neo-classical guys like Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, all those guys. And I've seen at least over a 100 concerts since those times. Stryper at their peak in the 80's was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of epic concerts. Their sound, energy, performance, and how the crowd reacted to them was stellar! That was in 1988 or '89, about 35 years ago and they still sound amazing! They should be playing arenas.
I waited 39 long years to finally see these guys playing live! For one thing or another I missed some concerts before… so I traveled from Ensenada Mexico to San Diego… great performance! Blessings 🍀🌹🎶🍻☝🏽😉

1989 McAllen Texas. La Villa Real Convention Center. Drummer Robert Sweet came out when we were standing in line. He came out in full Black and Yellow wardrobe. Robert Sweet said Hello to all of us fans in line. What a great memory from this great band.
Thanks Guy! I was right there up front a little to the left of you.Oz threw at handful of guitar picks right at me at the end of the show! I caught three! Great show!
Only time I saw Stryper was in 1985 at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh, PA for Solders Under Command tour. BTW, Syria Mosque is a theater not a real mosque. Anyhow, it was a great concert. Oz Fox is so humble he came out after the show to meet and greet. He even did an impromptu plug for a guy from a local Christian music station recorded on cassette tape. What’s a cassette tape if you don’t know? Google it please.😆 Stryper is the best underrated metal band out there. Peace!✝️🇺🇸👍🏻
I saw these guys back in like 85 in Worcester Ma I was like 11 or so. A neighborhood friends family was big into the Church and they had front row tix and brought me and my younger brother. LOL yea Front row, as we were leaving I saw a little kid that had a backstage pass standing near the door and I said hey Ill give you $10 bux for the sticker, he said yea and I headed down, I heard his brother maybe asking for it back IDK, but got back stage had pizza and soda. I caught a bible and they signed it. Was my first concert but they are Incredible.

First, thanks for sharing this show! I usually go to Stryper shows, but due to a recent medical issue with my wife, I wasn't able to go - so I was stoked to see someone recorded the San Diego show. How you didn't throttle - specifically the older photographer is beyond me. If anyone deserved a punch to the back of the head it was him. ;) I took your recording and moved the camera around by doing edits with zooming and such to try and keep him out of it (as well as the other photographers) as much as possible. I posted it here with a link back to yours: ruclips.net/video/twAPvp0gnmM/видео.html&ab_channel=TawmisGreybeard
