You painted a beautiful picture of my country, possibly too good, I want to keep the roads quiet.

In August I was up in the Highlands on two occasions. The run from Inverness to Fort William is amazing plus Oban to Campbeltown is probably one of the best biking roads iv ever been on.... Oh and don't forget Plockton to John o Groats to put the day in.... Fantastic place Scotland, simply beautiful.

    I went there in 2017 on a Yamaha MT-01.
Great bike, shit weather..... it rained as soon as I passed the “welcome to Scotland” sign and never stopped until I regained English soil.I’ve never seen so many brown signs indicating obscure tourist opportunities!
Give me rural and coastal France in the blink of an eye!

Love the video, but the music is driving me nuts. I would rather hear the bike. Another perfectly good video ruined by silly music

It’s all well and good but the problem here is that one persons enjoyment results in noise pollution for the many hundreds of other people who have to put up with the sound of bike engines. Some riders have good balanced exhausts which reduce the sound pollution but others have highly tuned exhausts which can be heard up to 20 miles easily. I don’t live in Scotland but near the A41 in Shropshire and I can often hear the sound of one bike that’s racing towards the M54 which is a good 10 miles away.. Sorry not having a go but just voicing my opinion. It’s tolerable in small does and life and let life an all that but I personally am worried as this ‘route 500’ thing grows as it has over the more recent years.
On the positive side, it’s good to see from your video that you look like a safe and courteous rider and I hope that you continue to enjoy safe riding and just hope that other riders follow your good example of your riding. Hope you had a great time sir!

I know what you mean about the loud exhaust, I bought mine as it is and it is not that loud, it sounds loud in the video like everything else around me because of the microphone. I live about 2 miles away from a dual carriageway in Essex and when the dark comes all the boy racers wannabe are coming out with bikes and cars...for me it's not a problem as I'm to tired from work to hear them :))
I guess most of the people living on NC500 are used to the noise and traffic...at the end of the day this brings them money especially far North where you are so far away from civilization and work...a lot of them rely on tourists....
Scotland it is an amazing place full of mountains, water and green :D for sure I'll go back next year and spend more time there!

X-Ray BiKes yeah that’s right about the tourism mate they do need it. No to be honest I don’t think your exhaust was loud it’s usually the boy racers that are the worst offenders. I’ve never been a biker other than a cyclist but I imagine it’s an amazing thrill having that power behind you. I enjoyed watching your video it’s mesmerising just watching. I like seeing high speed video like Guy Martin on his TT days but not everyone likes Guy as well some say he’s full of himself but I do like him meself lol...
No sorry mate hope I didn’t come across as a keyboard warrior but I do respect your right to enjoy such a fantastic part of the world. Take care buddy and look after yourself chap
