I'm actually feeling bad for liking Part 5 as much as I do now because like, actual real human suffering went into making it. And a kind of suffering I'm personally horrified of, no less - the lapse of one's artistry.
Enemies prior to Fugo leaving the group: amoral villains trying to get what they regardless of casualties and some even have camaraderie. Enemies after Fugo leaves the group: villains who rely on heroes’ inexplicably dismal of someone wrong, a villain who dies yet not die while getting the Anubis treatment, Part 3 villains given an edgier upgrade, and pink Kars who fumbles everything. Chariot Requiem is something I’d see more common in part 3 or 4 rather than the penultimate fight
Dude, I read almost all of Jojo's in context along with other Shonen Jump mangas. Rurouni Kenshin had more than half of it left. It was right in the middle of its most popular arc, the Kyoto Arc. I don't doubt that Jojo was the Flagship title, but Rurouni Kenshin was at the very height of it's popularity when Part 5 started.
14:53 Maybe that's why the first villain in part 8 has a Beach Boy reference and the main character has a Prince reference...since he was using old ideas in the parallel universe, maybe Pesci being the first villain was a scrapped idea

Giorno's run was darkest. I was going through shit at the time the anime came up, so it fit to my schedule with its nuances. Previous stories are some you could come up for ttrpg games, being bit tongue in cheek. I don't know how it is in online ttrpgs really, but the fun is what I play for. Games and anime. I think that as the show shook up as it went on, it made it more real. Real things don't follow script.
Editors: wont let Araki release a fucking MASTERPIECE! Editors: Will let P(happy word)n be animated that will never be watched and will only come back as karma.
Takes a lot of pressure to make a diamond. Despite how Araki was feeling when writing it and all the backstage drama with the editorializing I really think Part 5 is his best work, not only does it have the most interestig stands and fights but I also think it's his most thematically coherent story and climax.
Things like these and Togashi When bleach and Naruto were ending in early 2010s and Oda got sick around that time Shonen jump gave him power and later made him compulsory to take break every 3 chapter cuz they didn't want their main star to stop and made his choice over editor that's why modern day One piece editor are nothing but yes boys
Part 5 is the part that feels the most like a lot of ideas were left on the cutting room floor and never realized. Doubly so with Giorno's entire character, like how his Dio descendance is completely irrelevant to the story, how little of his character is actually explored after Polpo's death and how he ends as this big Gary Stu that's just able to solve things and inspire people magically.
@@ravaniphoenix5431 For me it's Jonathan. Yes he is absolutely necessary and I appreciate him, but ultimately he's pretty one note and mid as a standalone character imo.
For your "The Most Terrifying Stands" series, you should add Bohemian Rhapsody because imagine coming to bro and he pulls up with goku would be wild as the stands ability is to be able to summon/bring to life any character from fiction so if you were to make idk light yagami with this death note come to life... that would kinda OP
I dislike how you keep implying that editors making changes is stricktly a bad thing. It is not. I think MHA for example could have used a VERY overwhelming editor. Or like how the MAIN PLOT THREAD OF NARUTO for example was added by an editor. Editors like many things in life are necesarry but need to be used correctly.
@@METAsMETAs I could tell from the video, but as I said in my original comment: they are often necesarry as some authors just go crazy without them (in a bad way). Or just make a plainly bad story. There are times when the art/vision is just bad. Refer to what I said above.

It was definitely one of the most darkest parts, in fact the most dark. Even after Fugo's betrayal there was a kid Diavolo literally closed his mouth shut and let him bleed out from his wrist, unable to call for help. I can see how it made Araki sick to his stomach, it's horrible.
another thing that, oddly enough believe it or not, Fugo being such a hot topic, he was also my second favorite character in part 5 behind Giorno himself. for once we see the most realistic reaction to something wild that happened our main characters. if i was in Fugo's shoes, i honestly don't think I would've done any different. my fear, and comfort with what we have going for us, would also probably sway me to stand back and keep going with what i have been doing.
I would love to have seen Girl Giorno strangle the life out of Melone. But on the whole, I do think the Vento Aureo we got is better than the darker "original" version, and I'm glad Araki moved on from Shonen Jump.
Y'know, funnily enough when I first found out about Golden Wind's existence (this was before the anime was out), I thought Giorno was a girl and I thought they were the first female Joestar. That's because I initially thought his first name to be "Giovanna" (which is a female name here in Italy) and later down the line I discovered that the character's name was actually Giorno and he was a guy. Interesting to know what Araki's original plans were and it's also interesting to think he might've actually kept "Giovanna" as a reminder of that.
Maybe Araki made Giorno's surname "Giovanna" as a remenent from when he wanted to be female. It's a common girl's name in Italy and the English equivalent of "Joanna".
2 minutes into the video, its sad that Araki got exhausted of writing JoJo's before part 5, because despite that, it's my favorite part out of all them. Giorno is also my favorite JoJo. he's just focused on his goal to the core and i feel thats something i have slowly grown into myself finally, after wasting so much time in my 24 years on this life, in my opinion.
Perhaps I'm looking too much into it, but hearing how down Araki was before bouncing back makes me think of Bruno's goodbye to Giorno at the end. As Bruno said, He was Reborn. He was dead, but Giorno brought him back to life
It's interesting to hear you just outright call int "Gay Fashion". It's almost alien to the ear people don't want to out right just call it what it is anymore that they come up with all kinds of ways around it.
I find it so interesting that during all of the early parts where Araki was unsure of how to really write women, he ended up just kinda making them all bossy like lol Like Erina in part two and Lisa Lisa both beat the shit outta Joseph and boss em around most of the time, and early Trish was also a bit "Bossy" though different, and even Giorno and Anasui are kind of cold yet confident when they were both originally gonna be female. Idk it just feels like a lil bit of a trend

Through it all, I really appreciate the challenges that came about with how Araki intended Part 5 to be vs. what he finalized. Through darkness was light.
I won't go too deep into it here, but for me? Part 5 is what I consider to be perfection.
I'm glad it turned out the way it did.
I do like this, it has the feeling I get from concept and beta content from games
I'm actually feeling bad for liking Part 5 as much as I do now because like, actual real human suffering went into making it. And a kind of suffering I'm personally horrified of, no less - the lapse of one's artistry.
Part 6 is as dark as part 5 (if not more)
especially pucci and weathers backstory, possibly the darkest story beat in jojo
Truly a golden experience
Dude, I read almost all of Jojo's in context along with other Shonen Jump mangas. Rurouni Kenshin had more than half of it left. It was right in the middle of its most popular arc, the Kyoto Arc.
I don't doubt that Jojo was the Flagship title, but Rurouni Kenshin was at the very height of it's popularity when Part 5 started.
I feel like it should also be noted that KochiKame was still running when Rurouni Kenshin and JoJo Part 5 were still in their runs as well.
@@Random_User666 to be real though i was only thinking battle manga when saying the stuff i did.
@@METAsMETAs what about other series such as Baki and Ippo which were and are weekly action fighting manga about combat sports
14:53
Maybe that's why the first villain in part 8 has a Beach Boy reference and the main character has a Prince reference...since he was using old ideas in the parallel universe, maybe Pesci being the first villain was a scrapped idea
if you read the interview answer on screen he doesnt say pesci is the first villain he created, he said pesci is the one hes most fond of. METAs read it wrong.
Real things don't follow script.
i'd like to see videos like this but for other parts or the series as a whole
This is a truthful part of what Araki have been going through even in the situation that he is in of his own psyche.
Can someone give me the link to all of the original part 5 designs, I really wanna see them!
jojowiki.com/Hirohiko_Araki/Gallery and then go down to sketches/concept art
Love the use of Mystery Dungeon music. Also sucks that Araki was so limited, but at least he got out of that darker mindset of his lifestyle.
A man of culture, using 'The Rain Formerly Known as Purple' in your music background.
This explains why part 9 is the darkest so far, probably cause what he's doing now is what he wanted to do in part 5
never seen one of ur vids but that intro earned u a sub hands down, that walk w me run the notification bell
Editors: wont let Araki release a fucking MASTERPIECE!
Editors: Will let P(happy word)n be animated that will never be watched and will only come back as karma.
soo basically original golden wind is the jojolands?
Technically speaking, kinda?
Takes a lot of pressure to make a diamond. Despite how Araki was feeling when writing it and all the backstage drama with the editorializing I really think Part 5 is his best work, not only does it have the most interestig stands and fights but I also think it's his most thematically coherent story and climax.
Also, I like the both original manga and anime Giorno Giovanna they’re both perfect.
not the risk of rain music in the background 😭😭😭
Great vid!Keep up the good work
20:40 Jesus Ghiaccio be looking like a fear and hunger character
Things like these and Togashi
When bleach and Naruto were ending in early 2010s and Oda got sick around that time
Shonen jump gave him power and later made him compulsory to take break every 3 chapter cuz they didn't want their main star to stop and made his choice over editor that's why modern day One piece editor are nothing but yes boys
metas always be cooking
Part 5 is the part that feels the most like a lot of ideas were left on the cutting room floor and never realized. Doubly so with Giorno's entire character, like how his Dio descendance is completely irrelevant to the story, how little of his character is actually explored after Polpo's death and how he ends as this big Gary Stu that's just able to solve things and inspire people magically.
Worst Jojo easily
@@Twkoutnuh uh
@@Luckykougga Who would you say is the worst Jojo, then? Gappy? Jodio not included, since he just getting started, obviously.
@@Luckykougga who's your least favorite?
@@ravaniphoenix5431 For me it's Jonathan. Yes he is absolutely necessary and I appreciate him, but ultimately he's pretty one note and mid as a standalone character imo.
The part that surprised me is that they were supposed to kill fugo “mob style” which we can all imagine how dark that woulda been
00:39 who took the picture?
Hermit purple
DIO!!
personally, i feel like part 5 has become the icon, the head of the series, but idk
What's the song playing at around 5:30? Forgot which OST and where it was from lol
He just told me! It's persona reverie
@@jaden-cc5vp Thanks :)
It’s from P4
Concept!King Crimson is making me want a Araki/Clive Barker collaboration.
So, he basically intended part 5 to be super dark like, say, Berserk? Because that seems to be the vibe I'm getting from this.
Not that dark, think about like 25% of that, at most
Of course Araki knows villians. He is a vampire who doesn't age.
Fire video but what's the music that starts playing at 3:32 I've always wanted to know?
Persona 4 reverie!
@@METAsMETAs I love you thank you
16:40 I hope "pretty much the same" wouldn't include the boob window.
Great video!
I fucking hate nosey ass editors man. They’re the equivalent to the corpo’s lap dogs. They kill the art and the vision.
@@METAsMETAs I could tell from the video, but as I said in my original comment: they are often necesarry as some authors just go crazy without them (in a bad way). Or just make a plainly bad story. There are times when the art/vision is just bad. Refer to what I said above.
@@Yaboi-hnot to seem like I'm meat riding or anything, but by this time he didn't need somebody to hover over him like they did. he says it himself if anything I gave them more credit then Araki did.
@@METAsMETAs fair, Araki is a GOAT although part 6 in my opinion was unhinged enough to need more editor's input
It was definitely one of the most darkest parts, in fact the most dark. Even after Fugo's betrayal there was a kid Diavolo literally closed his mouth shut and let him bleed out from his wrist, unable to call for help. I can see how it made Araki sick to his stomach, it's horrible.
@13:30 In other words one could say the author themselves became the character's golden wind.
Where did u get the Araki comments about the part and especially the paragraph when he talked about evil, id love to read the rest of it! 👀
Golden wind bunko on the jojowiki
@@METAsMETAs thank you!!
Hope you'll have a good day
another thing that, oddly enough believe it or not, Fugo being such a hot topic, he was also my second favorite character in part 5 behind Giorno himself. for once we see the most realistic reaction to something wild that happened our main characters. if i was in Fugo's shoes, i honestly don't think I would've done any different. my fear, and comfort with what we have going for us, would also probably sway me to stand back and keep going with what i have been doing.
Ooooohhhhhh after your post i was expecting a viddo about d'arby 😅 but this one was awesome!
:if you have to choose 1 stand which one you choose king crimson or soft and wet go beyond
Maybe Araki made Giorno's surname "Giovanna" as a remenent from when he wanted to be female. It's a common girl's name in Italy and the English equivalent of "Joanna".
on god the persona 2 music
2 minutes into the video, its sad that Araki got exhausted of writing JoJo's before part 5, because despite that, it's my favorite part out of all them. Giorno is also my favorite JoJo. he's just focused on his goal to the core and i feel thats something i have slowly grown into myself finally, after wasting so much time in my 24 years on this life, in my opinion.
Akira Toriyama the Goat.
Im glad that jojo didn't end at part 3 since we would never have another series like this
Perhaps I'm looking too much into it, but hearing how down Araki was before bouncing back makes me think of Bruno's goodbye to Giorno at the end.
As Bruno said, He was Reborn. He was dead, but Giorno brought him back to life
It's interesting to hear you just outright call int "Gay Fashion".
It's almost alien to the ear people don't want to out right just call
it what it is anymore that they come up with all kinds of ways around it.
The Risk of Rain music at the end 👌
I find it so interesting that during all of the early parts where Araki was unsure of how to really write women, he ended up just kinda making them all bossy like lol
Like Erina in part two and Lisa Lisa both beat the shit outta Joseph and boss em around most of the time, and early Trish was also a bit "Bossy" though different, and even Giorno and Anasui are kind of cold yet confident when they were both originally gonna be female. Idk it just feels like a lil bit of a trend
12:33 probably watching things related to Hannibal Lecter (the eating brain matter part gives it away)
What i really listen to when im at the gym
Araki was in his darkest days...now Part 5 being the best makes so much more sense
BRO HELP I WAS THINKING TODAY "what if they remade golden wind or if golden wind had an old version"
What is the song in your intro? PLEASE
on your regular videos, doesn't seem to be in this one!
ITS CUSTOM MADE😭 I will drop soon tho
@@METAsMETAs I WILL PAY TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS I NEED IT
maybe the golden wind was the friends we lost along the way
Metas I gotta know man what's the song in the into fr
Musi that starts in 11:00 ??
God bless yall
I wish it was darker maybe then it would have been a good part lol
I wonder why melone was made
21:38 why'd the glitch scare me so much??
I kinda wish he followed though on the darker stuff, would've been different and for that reason much better I feel
Simply, GER rewrote it.
Honestly i came to the video thinking this was related to what happened to giorno when pucci had reset the universe by fast forwarding time.
Giorno being originally conceived as a girl gives the "Giovanna" name even more sense.
Buon Giorno.
