One tip for booking a hotel room in the UK. While last-minute deals are sometimes available it's often better to book well in advance. Many of the hotel chains increase the prices as the hotels get booked up. I have know room prices more than double particularly in the main tourist areas at busy times. This is because people on business trips tend to book late and the cost is less important to them. I've know budget hotels ask £250 (about $320) for a room when booked for that days stay in the summer

We heard that another hotel group bought them. It's now called the Cumberland. Rooms look the same, hopefully they don't change it much. It was such a nice property!
