Great video! My heart bled for you waking up to that water in the cabin - I'd have got SUCH a fright! I can only imagine how stressful that was for the crew onboard the ship!
Luckily, it was a sea day the next day so we didn't miss time ashore waiting for it to get sorted. One person had the leak directly in their cabin, it burst with a bang!
Good morning Marcus and Mel, quite an adventure there by the sound of it. I would struggle with a cabin in that🚢 position as always choose mid ship to avoid movement. Amazing that reception staff didn’t know about the flood. Our very first cruise was on the Azura in 2011 going to the Baltic including St Petersburg. Fantastic trip at the time but I suppose age has taken its toll. I would hope and expect a significant amount of compensation for the inconvenience. Look forward to the next video. Regards from Julie 🏴
Oh my gosh. Here I am looking for the next video only realizing you just posted this one. I am super curious about your "compensation". I hope it is a good one for your inconvenience...
We did this cruise last year and flew from Bristol (we are also from Porthcawl) and had a good time. Obviously didn't have the drama of a flood like you. Hopefully P&O compensated you in some way for that. We fly off to Tokyo in April for a Cunard cruise to see the Cherry Blossoms :)
Another good video and bad your cabin flooded. I would only ever use P&O Cruises as the food is 5 star, entertainment great and always something to do. Enjoy the rest of your cruise and looking forward to your next video.
What is it with the Welsh and leaks? 😂 Sorry to see your cruise disrupted by this. Communications definitely need improvement on Azura. Staff on reception should have been briefed on this incident. Hope it didn't spoil your holiday too much. Great video. 👍
Luckily, we had great weather and intersting stops. The day after, sorting out the cabin and moving stuff, was a sea day so we didn't miss any ports. It could have been worse, there could have been someone onboard supplying us a stream of awful puns! 🤣🤪
26:24 I’m surprised they had anywhere to transfer you to given that these days ships sail prity much full - cabins they may have otherwise held for medical isolation perhaps? I sail on Carnival Luminosa from Brisbsne in Queensland in 23 days and 10hours according to their app( thst keeps trying to tell me I’m already on the ship lol 😂 if only…..) not long to wait now. David Young 40 Brisbane Australia.
The ship was full, like you said maybe they had cabins for other incidents such as isolation etc. One couple were told that their room was for guest entertainers etc.
Couldn’t believe they didn’t even seem to have given you a drink or cup of tea while you were waiting for new cabins. Glad you at least got some OBC in the end. Disappointed though that with a flooded cabin the pair of you didn’t do some Titanic recreations 😂
When I got out of bed and stepped in and inch of water it was like the scene in Titanic. Mel would have definitely pushed me off the floating door at the end!
Sorry to learn of your flooded cabin and associated inconvenience and stress. No excuses for poor communication from P&O , this undoubtedly made matters worse. I often see these cruises advertised at £599 which is unbelievably cheap when compared to a January Canaries land based holiday. I might be tempted to go but at that price would go with low expectations and beef up with a few specialty restaurant bookings. 🙏👍
It was reasonable and we know accidents happen but yes, the communication after the event let P&O down. Just keeping everyone informed would have eased the situation for many.
We did are first cruise with P&O 19 years ago (excellent) are last one with them was 2 years ago (Terrible) the difference was like night and day never ever again. All your compliments go on deaf ears I’m afraid. Hope things got better for you .
I did this same cruise on the Azura in October 2022. It was one of my most favourite cruises. I had an aft balcony cabin and loved it. May be old fashioned but the cabin and balcony was spacious. For the price it’s great. What I do is book speciality for 5 nights of the cruise usually in the Beach House and Epicurean. This doesn’t break the bank and ensures a great dining experience and still value for money when taking drinks into account. In contrast, I went on the Iona over Christmas and that was the worse cruise ever. Too big and crowded and not enough staff for the number of passengers. Also I didn’t like the pool layout and much prefer a central pool deck with outside entertainment on deck and this was lacking in Iona and the atmosphere was flat. Azura has a great vibe too and traditional. However I’m having a long break from them. Sorry to hear about the flood. Not a great start. Yes service isn’t the best on P&O and the worse on any cruise line. Hope the rest of the cruise goes smoothly.
Luckily the port stops were very nice and the weather was good. Unfortunately, we could only book the Beach House as the others were fully booked and the Glass House, which we like, wasn't serving food.
Great video both. I mentioned to Mel when I bumped into her in Porthcawl that I’d done my first cruise in September with Tui on Marella Explorer 2 from Dubrovnik to Greek Islands, Athens, Olympia and Montenegro. No set meal times which was good. As I told Mel we loved it xx
My cabin flooded on Britannia last September, all of my clothes were soaked! With the exception of my pyjamas and tuxedo. Wasn’t overly impressed with the crew’s response and attitude. I missed going ashore in port and had to go to breakfast in the mdr the next morning in my pyjamas….. apparently these things happen and it’s no p&o fault

Another great video, well done both. We have done the same cruise last year. Glad you had good weather, shame about the leak.
The weather was really nice, cheers
Great travel vlog
Thank you 😊

@@KeithJones-mw6gr It does finally get sorted in a later episode although communication by P&O was dire.

In the next one we get on with the holiday although we do have an update to what happened next.

It was finally sorted. That cruise from Japan sounds amazing, we really want to go there.
Our cabin on Azura flooded from the toilet on a transatlantic back in 2017 quite a nightmare.
Luckily this was water from the pool.
Yes very we were out of our room for a few nights. The window creaked if I remember. At least they had a plan and it seemed to work.
Shwmae. What a nightmare. Seems the whole thing was a shambles.
The communication after the event was very poor. Others had it even worse. Luckily the weather and ports were good.

Thanks, unfortunately this experience wasn't as good as our previous P&O cruises.

@flydriveexplore Ooh, I know what you mean! I hate those kind of people 😂 Wait, what! 😀👍
I think you should try Marella great entertainment. 🥰🚢
Yes - We have to try them.

I don't even know what that emoji means!!!
@@flydriveexploreI would have 😂
How much is it for a pint on board Marcus ,love you and Mel’s films by the way
I can't remember exactly but about £5 something. Cheap after coming off the American ships where a coke and a bottle of beer cost about $14
@ good god that’s expensive I don’t mind a 5 ver for a pint though cheers now
Hi Marcus very interesting video. How are you doing? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. Have a great day see you next video 😊
Have a good weekend.
That service is poor. What if your property had been stolen? P&O needs to really address it's issues.
Yes, the service and security after the event was not good. And our room was directly opposite the open stairs.
Wish i hadnt watched now .
We are going in 5 days on this cruis.😢
Don't worry - we saw them replacing the carpets in the affected area by the time we disembarked. Also, the places you stop and weather is really nice.
You guys should try Marella Discovery 2
It's on our list 👍

Luckily the weather and destinations were good.
Nightmare 😮
I think a full refund would be the decent gesture from P&O but guesing they will give you £100 onboard credit.
An abysmal ship ….the buffet is an horrendous experience…love your work guys ..👍

Mel really wants to go to Croatia, hopefully this year!
@@flydriveexplore you really must, Croatia and Montenegro were stunning xx
OMG that’s awful that you were flooded, that’s bad enough but this I suppose can happen but the fact that they dealt with it so badly
Another P&O shocker
Get yourself on the Britannia much better ship 🚢
We did have a good cruise on Britannia to the Fjords a year ago.

P&o has gone to the dogs
That’s terrible, anything could have gone missing from your cabin. Poor security!
Yes, security wasn't good and we were by the staircase too.
PO has gone down hill for years .shame
