For those curious, there is a vocal accompaniment coming for this video, I've just been waiting on a few vocalists to get their recording issues sorted out, which has been taking longer than expected. I've had a few people asking if they could use my animation for their own lyrics, so (at least for now) I need to decline. The vocals version will feature some updates to the animations/sequences to buff out any of the errors I missed before, and enhance some of the shots. Once it's out, as it will be the original music/animation mixture, I'll be more open to letting others use my video for their own variations and derivations in lyrics. Madokami bless u all.
Just a little update: Sorry it's been taking so long. Took longer than expected to get the audio, and by the time I got it another, more pressing project came up. I'm gonna be working on this again some time mid May. The audio's recorded and only a few scenes need to be fixed so it shouldn't take too long.

The use of negative space to really concentrate the focus, rotating and presenting action in a stylistic manner really is what makes these videos so perfectly done.

This animation is absolutely amazing and I'd dare to say that it even rivals the original. I thought it was awesome that you did your own thing, trying to capture the character's personalities and telling their story, instead of simply mimicking the poses of the original shadow art video (although it would be awesome nonetheless). I loved every single second of it, but if I had to pick a favorite moment, I'd definitely choose Sayaka giving that insane smile to the camera, signaling her descent into despair and madness. Holy fucking shit, I had fucking goosebumps during that scene. Well fucking done. Keep awesome!
I really like this! The models and animation are both a bit choppy, but that's kind of to be expected from MMD. You did a great job with the resources at hand! The weapons and the particle effects were fantastic. At 0:53, I fully expected a creepy smile…I did NOT expect it to be THAT horrifying! It legitimately startled me! I applaud you, sir or madam! My only real criticism is that some of the transitions could have been more creative, and some of the scenes didn't have much going on in them. Also that there was no headless Mami shot…shame on you! XD Oh, and by the way, I *love* what you did at 3:16. I think an effect like that might be the only thing that would have made the original Bad Apple _even cooler_.
You might not know enough Touhou. 0:30 Patchy, she lives inside a library, a place where time continues in a world whenever she reads the book containing that world and as she keep looking at it the characters dance round and round. 0:37 Remillia can't even see her own feelings even though her power is to "Control Destiny" because she can't decide what she wants for herself, she ends up not caring about what happens (after her incident) 0:47 Sakuya, she has her own story about not being able to control when she stops time sometimes. 0:52 Flandere for the first time in 500 years she was finally released from her room and she didn't care about anything but having fun for herself. 1:00 Youmu For the first time in her life she saw a normal human (marisa) enter the world of the dead and couldn't believe it. being half human herself she told marisa to go back to the living world but in the end it didn't matter. 1:04 Yuyuko She killed herself in order to seal the Saigyouji Ayakashi (the tree) because like herself, it possesed the power to kill people based on its will. Not wanting to deal with the sadness of her power to control death, she killed herself and sealed away the tree and lost her memories so that she wouldn't have any regrets for what she did, such as leaving behind her best friend yukari. 1:14 Komachi, very much known for slacking off on the job and not listening to her master, yama. 1:20 Yama, she knows the judgement of things without even having to try them in a hearing and can declare them as black or white. 1:30 Mokou, she is originally a human that turned immortal to exact revenge, but over time her revenge has lost its reason so it seems that she has no true purpose left. 1:36 Keine, she has a split personality during the time of the moon. 1:43 Eirin, the only person she can care for is Kaguya 1:48 Kaguya, she had a change of personality and is no longer the evil woman that mokou wanted to kill.(Hence mokou losing her reason to exact revenge) 2:11 Sanae (on the same lyrics as patchy) she came from a world where time flowed differently and when she finally came here, her reality changed to the fictitious realities she read inside books and saw within movies. 2:16 Suwako and Kanako were eternal enemies at some point but eventually none cared about the conflict about who became the goddess of the shrine. 2:25 Yukari, story suggests that all gap youkai that open gaps were originally humans that fell through a gap of time and through that gap they became able to open their own gaps(story suggests that she was maribelle). 2:28 Tenshi, literally doesn't care about anything, hence the incident of Touhou 10.5 scarlet weather where her presence literally caused the destruction of many locations through the weather. 2:38 Aya, she's a newsgirl that makes newspapers, but nobody ever reads them. 2:44 Suika, she's known for having multiple bad relationships, but acts as a cheerful character anyways while she drinks away her thoughts of those people (Such as Kasen) 2:53 Alice is known for always continuously moving her dolls, almost subconsciously and so it fits that her heart always seems to be somewhere else. 2:59 Nitori made a move to made the Fusion Reactor Core and Hissoutensoku and look at what happened. 3:06 Yuuka... don't mess with her flowers, she'd destroy it all for revenge. The rest, I actually don't know the th5 and older storylines... sooo~ But yeah... pssh, saying that the madoka characters matched it more than the touhou characters it was made for, you crazy, lol.
I'm way late to this party, but I like this video! Using silhouette is a smart way to make the models / animation more aesthetically pleasing, and lends itself to all of those great transitions wonderfully. Way to go on all the little touches too: Mami's tea cup, and Sayaka's smile work really well.
This video describes all of Madoka in a nutshell...except for Rebellion. That's probably for the better, though, considering how screwed up I was after Rebellion.
Yes it was, all the way up until Homura's, erm, "transformation" into that new Mahou Shoujo form referred to as "Homucifer" by certain fans. Then I felt like my mind was getting screwed over.
Well, to make it a little more clear. She wanted to keep Madoka's existing so she "dethroned" her and created a new world where they all exist together, and only Sayaka and partially Madoka remember anything. Basically she became the opposite of Madoka, who represented selfless love, and now Homura is the embodiment of selfish love or Homucifer, which is why she told Madoka that they are now "enemies."

Actually I think that Rebellion set things up for a subsequent season, so I think it's possible. Not that I wouldn't mind an anime adaptation of 'The Different Story' because that had an amazing plot.

This video describes all of Madoka in a nutshell...except for Rebellion. That's probably for the better, though, considering how screwed up I was after Rebellion.
But rebellion was amazing!
Yes it was, all the way up until Homura's, erm, "transformation" into that new Mahou Shoujo form referred to as "Homucifer" by certain fans. Then I felt like my mind was getting screwed over.
You know why she became that, right?
More or less.
Well, to make it a little more clear. She wanted to keep Madoka's existing so she "dethroned" her and created a new world where they all exist together, and only Sayaka and partially Madoka remember anything. Basically she became the opposite of Madoka, who represented selfless love, and now Homura is the embodiment of selfish love or Homucifer, which is why she told Madoka that they are now "enemies."
Speechless. This is pure gold!

Actually I think that Rebellion set things up for a subsequent season, so I think it's possible.
Not that I wouldn't mind an anime adaptation of 'The Different Story' because that had an amazing plot.
