1:12 - 1:20 Just wanted to commemorate you for this sequence! From my understanding, Madoka is always going to want to help and save the people she cares about. But Homura only wanted her to live, to live with her. To finally have her. But Madoka always ends up sacrificing herself, her ‘naïveté’ is driving Homura mad lmao, and the “I hate you I love you” part was SOOOOO GOOD. ACK THIS EDIT IS SO GOOD

Why does everyone forget that Homura had a freaking timestop and reset of timeline? If she wanted to "just live with her" - she could live with her in a time loop of mounth for eternity. She could "just live" with Madoka in her own labyrinth, as shown in Rebellion. If she had simply been inactive at the end of Rebellion - she would have always been with Madoka too!
However, the wording of her desire was "PROTECT Madoka". Which is what she did throughout the entire series (including Rebellion). This is LITERALLY the only thing that drives her, for this she is ready to sacrifice herself and the whole world (which we saw in Rebellion)
