I can't even imagine being sick during this time, before any time when there were antibiotics or vaccines. It must have been unbelievably scary. Medicine has changed so much, even within the last ten years. I am so grateful for that.
Ooh I just noticed the fabric on her left shoulder (our left) is off her shoulder at 0:48 yet back on in the next frame haha I love when I catch those!
is scarlet fever contagious? shouldnt the family not be touching and sleeping next to beth since she could give the disease to them or is scarlet fever not contagious like that?
@@RipleySpacePrincess Yeah...but at this point in the movie it's no longer about scarlet fever, but about rheumatic heart disease that Beth has as a result from her scarlet fever...closest possibility, as we are told that the fever has weakened her heart. I am pretty sure that this is not contagious though. Edit: Woops. Forgot that a scarlet fever part came after. Silly me.
I hope John realizes now that he should reward Meg with beautiful things every now and then, in this scene he's more happy that he gets his coat and his wife doesn't get anything nice. I think he forgets how much Meg actually goes for this family
I don't think it's so much that he's happy he gets a coat and Meg gets nothing I think it's more they simply couldn't afford it a coat in winter is necessary a new dress when your old ones are practically new and you don't have any money isn't! And this scene is important for Meg too because she realises that all she needs in the world to be happy is her husband and her kids fancy things like dresses aren't worth anything when you don't have your loved ones with you xxx
@@calliefinck6275 but for all we know he does do that it's just in this instance that we see him not wanting to buy her a very expensive dress like 15 dollars in the 19th century is the equivalent of 300 dollars in today's money like that's an exorbitant amount of money to spend on one garment especially if you're not as rich xxx

Yes and no ibuprofen or panadol for simple ailments like headaches or period pains or the common cold. That would suck
I like that it says, “Emma Watson sells the fabric to Sallie” not Meg. Hahahaha!
that's why i clicked- 😂
I love the way Emma delivers her lines !!!

Marmee holding her baby is so sweet.

Good eye
Wow.....I love comment like yours
nice catch
John is such a sweetheart!
Emma Watson will always be my childhood crush from harry potter hermione granger.
Yet she gets to show her acting range. She's not just Hermione Granger as she can play different characters.
Emma slays it in this scene
Meg's arc is that she becomes her mother.
AMAZING POINT
there’s this lovely connection :,)
Happy 31st Birthday to Emma Watson! (April 15, 2021).
wow. im also born in april (20th)
i always loved her american accent 😍 i know she slayed it in the perks of being a wallflower.
Are you American? Because she has one of the worst American accents I’ve ever heard
is scarlet fever contagious? shouldnt the family not be touching and sleeping next to beth since she could give the disease to them or is scarlet fever not contagious like that?
Jo and Meg have had it before, but Amy hadn’t that’s why she isn’t there

I've seen this movie three times
Jackie Talbot how do you watch it? And where?
7! I totally understand. I’ve never been compelled to watch a movie again and again right away.
I watched 4 times it's so good!!
@@katemnwn5709 it's on Netflix.
I saw it twice in theaters and ugly-cried both times. This is such a beautiful adaptation of a story that’s so near to my heart. 💜
Only reason I watched little women was for Emma.
Me too
Then you must have been surprised when everyone else was awesome.
@@MrDavidKord yeah i mean Laura and Timothee were good.
@@brittweasley7184 Saoirse Ronan is great in everything. The girl who played Beth was amazing.
@@MrDavidKord i had come for Emma, I stayed for Saoirse Ronan, my goodness her acting is so poise!
This show is beautiful
how beautiful she is.
I want Laurie and Jo to be together 😭
Really wanna be focused on the scene but i keep remembering 'Emma watson and her eyebrow acting' and its too distracting 😂😂😂😂
I came here just to see her eyebrow acting...😂
1860s decade.
American Civil War 1861-1865.
I read it as Emma Watson sold her fabric to Saul
Funny, because Bob Odenkirk (the actor who plays Saul Goodman) appears in this movie as the sisters' father.
