8 is overrated it's not even that good of a game, i'd prefer 9 if they did do one, but i'd rather they just stopped remakes after 7 and focus on mainline games hell even a X-3 would be better.

I want a FF9 Remake so badly. But it don't has to be in the same quality as FF7. A more classic RPG approach with a world map but beautiful graphics would be more than enough.

I tell you one mechanic I’m not to trilled about is the summons Chadley will once again be handing them out instead of finding them in the world map like the OG
Ikr. Imagine having secret quests for some of the summon materia and some acquired during main story.
There's still at least quests tied ot the summons to make them weaker in battle, maybe they will have cutscenes involving summons but who knows, tbf all you ever did in og for the most part was find them on the floor other than a select few like pheonix, knights or choco/mog where you'd have to do some shit but it would never really have you talk to summons other than maybe 1 of them
Its way better doing a quest and fighting the summon to earn it rather than finding it in some random place
So freaking true... I'm really hoping we can find them organically like in the original game, rather than being tied to simulation fights. Really defeats a lot of excitement for me about the summons

My gripe with 7R was the fact, that they bloated the Midgar section into a 40h game. 45, if you count Intermission as well. Of course I understand why they would do that - nobody wants to pay full price for 5h of gameplay - but 7R still had a lot of padding and slow pacing for said reason.
Now with Rebirth, the same estimated time frame of 40h actually feels much more in place. Seeing that we're out in the open now, with a bunch of different towns, locations, characters, flashbacks, etc. Now those 40h might even not be enough!
Definitely see what you mean. I think 40 hours is a pretty good idea for the main campaign in Rebirth, mainly because I feel like if it were much longer, it COULD feel like bloat. Where Rebirth differs from Remake is in its side content - there is just so much more on offer in Rebirth over the limited things you could do in Midgar. Looking forward to seeing how it all shapes up next week!

I’m looking forward for SquareEnix to update the hud. It’s hard to get the immersion when you have the “Command Menu” visible while exploring. Maybe have an option to hide the text or change the color so it’s not visible. The gameplay would 100% be better if it’s not constantly following the player. I played the demo and it’s very annoying just seeing it.
there was start of a affenity system in remake. which lead to what dress cloud/tifa wears in the walmarket part of game and who don picks.
It also affected what cutscene you got outside of aeriths house before storming Shinra tower.
I haven’t downloaded it because I wanna enjoy it with the rest of the game, ff7 and ff8 have been the only two games I have ever finished. I would be so down for a ff8 remastered or remake
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I steamrolled through the demo but will spend a lot more time with it when the game launches. I'm not going to even touch the updated demo with the Junon section
If they made a remake of FF8 one of the creators said it would change the combat system I would eliminate the bars and fill them only for special attacks and gf summoning I would put a third special power linked to the gf or an extra special attack e.g. Squall uses his Renzokuken against Ifrit in the trial, but attacks and final blow are related to frost and I have some ideas

I would like to hear more on the materia fusion, I saw in an earlier clip, can't remember what video it was, I saw a 'fire & ice materia'
As far as they reveal, there’s no Materia fusion system in Rebirth, that 2 elements materia is the materia that was created by Chadley.
Materia fusion most-likely will be saved for 7R part 3.
I am looking forward to the game coming out on the 29th!!! I look forward to the customized party you can create, the bonds of friendships and the combos between all the characters. I would love to see a Final Fantasy 13 trilogy would be awesome!!

Kinda makes me wish that ff6 had sold like 7; then it would be the game with all the spin-off games that change the tone and meaning of the original. On second thought, I’m fine with the pixel remaster.

I think they said the ending of rebirth will be after the events of Forgotten City, so possibly a jenova boss fight?
Yeah, I believe you're right. The end of Rebirth looks like it will coincide with the ending of Disc 1 in the original.
Only thing I really don’t like about it is the way you collect to summons it takes away from the original
Could be quite short and medium spaces for the game, until senses after rushed story.
My go to party in OG is Cid and Yuffie, can’t wait until I can use that party. Cid is the goat.
Yeah I loved Cid in the original. We won't be able to control him in Rebirth, but we'll more than likely be able to in the 3rd one
Never say never. I see FF8 being remade with the help of AI. Along with even greater hardware and software the future of remakes with even greater detail is possible.

FF8 was the first Final Fantasy i've ever played. And it has a huge impact on me.
Is there pre-order bonus costumes of the game?
If there is, I really hope it doesn't raise the cost. Pre-orders these days are almost always scams.
The only current pre-order bonus is that I'm aware of is the twinpack with Remake and Rebirth is the same price as just rebirth until the game is out.
I believe there is also bonus summon materia for having a Remake and Interlude save file (one for each) on your system when you start the game. Doesn't matter where in the story the save is, you just have to have one on the system.

Personally I would be more than satisfied with a Final Fantasy VIII movie still following the original story, but more like Advent Children where the developers wouldn’t be as constrained by hardware of current gen systems. Fire up that quantum computer to give a real depiction of time compression y’all!

I just really desperately need to know if the demo we got is the final version of the game visually or if it's an older version.
Its more like its in between, DLC's usually have lower visual resolutions than the main game. FF7 remake's demo had Clouds hair look almost "see-through" but the final version Cloud's hair along with other things were fix.

It's not the final version. It's the same version from a few months ago during pax and all other events. They just did a few tweaks on each demo to have a better experience. Including the Junon demo on the 21st. The final Version will be on the 29th when the game comes out.

I'd go for ff8 if they changed the mechanics a bit so it's more difficult, otherwise it's too easy to become O.P.
6 is perfect the way it is a remake of 8 Should be next so they can fix its cluster EFF story.

It will not be available day 1 on PC, although the exclusivity for Rebirth ends the end of May this year. Square may bring the game to Steam shortly after that, but definitely within a year

When it comes to What SE should do after FF7 remakes, I would like for them to focus on KH4 and maybe if they are ready, FF17, or maybe the rumored FF10-3.
remakes are nice and all, but they shouldn't rely on that too much, or they can wait until KH4 is done, to get to a remake of another of their older titles.

Absolutely. FFX is still my favorite in the series, although a lot of my love for it is due to nostalgia. Still have so much fun with the remaster
I just wish they'd give us a proper FF6 remake. Not a remaster, not a port. Yes it has a dozen characters, yes it has a lot of content, and yes it's going to take time. I just want to hear them say they'll do it.

Who would expect Final Fantasy 9 to be robust, extensive, or even graphically on par with 7 Remake? If it wasn't basically an interactive fantasy cartoon I don't think it would feel right. I mean your main character is basically a humanoid Monkey, Vivi along with probably half your enemies are black mages. Queen Brahne and Quina.......Im not even sure what they are even after almost 30 years. Freya is basically an Acrobatic rat. Going into the world in non static backgrounds would be pretty cool. But I don't see how anyone would expect it to be similar to RE7s Remake. Final Fantasy 8 on the other had I could see since its more of a real world environment.
So what? You know good and goddamn well you'd make bank if you dud an expansive 1-1 remake of 6, 8 and 9.
My thoughts on rebirth pros and cons.
Pros:
New final fantasy game.
2 new playable chracters, not including yuffie because she was Dlc in the ps4 remake.
Unison attacks.
Cid and vincent.
Best combat.

Game looks cool, if only cid and Vincent where playable. I bet Vincent combos will break the game, when he in the next game.
My biggest issue after playing the demo is that they keep having these slow af scenes where things take forever for no apparent reason. Maybe its necessary because of preloading or something, I think that was their excuse in the first part. I was hoping this wouldnt be the case on PS5 but stuff like closing the valve which takes like a minute of pressing L2 and R2 or limping through Nibelheim at the end almost made me mad.
Most positive surprise of the demo for me was the piano minigame xD. It would be cool if there will be some sheets of other FF game titles too, like Eyes On Me, Melodies of Life and of course To Zanarkand.
Couldn't agree more about the slow parts when you are limping through the engulfed Nibelheim. I know what they were trying to do there, but it became an incredible annoyance

I did feel like some things were lacking. For example, summons were so limited that by the time you summon them the battle was all but over. And I thought they really needed alot more in the way of materia combos. But over-all, it was better than I was expecting.

The number of disc is to do with the amount of FMV cut scenes, not the length of the game.

Is it really that hard to remake the final fantasy games? It’s been done by other companies.
It cant be harder than creating a new ff title so the only reason could be that they dont expect a remake other than ff7 to sell enough to justify the effort.
