The hate for Dom drives me crazy. I’ve been such a big fan since 21st century liability. He’s such a sweet person too, he’s done so many things for fans, both when his fan base was small and when it got huge.
My family comes from Doncaster & have lived in Canada for the last 65 years and STILL have their accent (myself excluded unfortunately) but this clip makes me laugh because this is a hard accent to shake
He's a bloody lovely lad . He's not fake. He does what he does and helps alot of people who need help with mental health issues and self esteem. Let him be the crazy , interesting person he is regardless where he came from. Why are people do sad and nasty .?
Love Yungblud 🖤 he’s done a lot of positive work in the mental health community and for the LGBTQ+ community. As a person in both of those groups, his music has helped me in many ways. Perhaps do a little more research before hating when half the people commenting are saying they don’t know who he is.
As someone in a similar-ish position to him I can tell you he's talking facts. People assume that because you're middle class you've had an easy ride... Guess what? We're all humans. We all have the same hopes and fears, the same traumas. Money doesn't just fix all of life's problems and I still work hard for what I have. Some of the least accepting people I've met have been working class people with a chip on their shoulder. They won't like you based on your accent or postcode instead of judging you by your character.
I don't know much about the guy, but he's a phenomenal musician. His vocal talent surprised me whenever I first listened to him. He's also a great guitarist and pianist. I'm only judging by his live performances. I've only heard one of his songs that was produced through a studio.
never rlly listened to his music but saw him live with my brother who likes him and have never seen so much energy in a performance, was so amazing and i have big respect for him
But he has a posh northern accent. Southerns are definatly more deaf to accents that northerns, but simply being a northerner doesn't get comments or denigration really (unless from a Liberal elite type) Northerners bash eachother 10X more for accents than the average southern even knows about British accents. This yunfblud guy just obviously has a posh, Liberal, well educated accent, he just chooses to use awful grammar and pronunciation, perhaps on purpose to "seem" more working class, or perhaps because he's just not very bright, either way a working class northerner can hear it a mile away.
@@Alfred5555 accentism is a MAJOR problem for northern/midlands people when they move south and can actually affect your ability to get a job. Thats the reason so many northerners adopt that weird mockney/southern NPC accent when they move to London
You can be middle class but feel like you don't belong. If the things you enjoy are considered unbefitting of your class and status then you immediately end up in the middle ground of being shunned by the higher class, but being disliked by lower class for "pretending" to be like them. It can go both ways too.
People below, don't and shouldn't be expected to appreciate when those above, who choose or pretend to superficially lower themselves on the ladder. People appreciate proper honesty and little else. The whole world is not a stage.
@@Alfred5555 and so the same should be expect the other way around? The phrase "new money" came from rich people thinking a poor person shouldn't rise to their level even when they earn their money. There are plenty of people on a humble wage that act as though they are upper class because they know how to dress, accessories, decorate, and act to give that impression. And why shouldn't they? If someone wants to behave in a way that feels authentic to them then it is quite literally nobody else's business. Even if they're a public figure, it's still nobody else's business. Additionally, a lot can be said for middle/upper class people wanting to behave and dress as working class, and how they can shine a light on the plight of those who need help and bring money into an economy that needs it.
@@Accio_Eloise If you don't understand the difference between a poor person pretending to be rich, and a rich person pretending to be poor, then God help us.
Why he can't be like that, to be safe from hate? Nope, he has to be whoever he wants to be and people have to learn to not hate him, and don't even hate anyone else, is like hating an actor for act...
there are class struggles in every country, it's just that it not being the main focus in people's minds when they talk about political change makes it seem like it isnt an issue even if it is, such as in quite a few scandinavian countries.
It's about regional accents and Recieved Pronounciation; a non-regional accent reserved for higher classes. People expect posh people to speak in RP and not regional accents as those accents are seen as lower class. By speaking in his regional accent people see it as fake (pretending to be lower class) when he is just rejecting class expectations.
These people judging him will never know him. It’s so sad all they have to do in life is judge this wonderfully talented person. Keep being you Dom! Much love.
When there is no racial diversity, humans still manage to find a way to be prejudice . America has more diversity, so we judge by race. Brits take it to a whole new level, and judge by what part of the country you reside in. Literally, they will have beefs between who lives on which side of the road.
... Ummmm try gangs in the US, who do the exact same by comandeering area codes? Your so called comparison is so wildly wrong I just- Both the US and UK have issues with both. And the UK not being racially diverse? 😂 What
that's true, but I think what this video is related to is people hating when people who had a good upbringing with a rich family say shit like "you can make it if you work hard" when they never had to work hard because their parents' money was always there and without it they wouldn't be as far as they are in life, so someone who doesn't come from a rich family can't actually achieve what those rich people achieved
The issue is bias against the poor and wealthy alike. You’d be surprised how many “self-made” people- actually were aided by their wealthy/rich/lucky families; and how much distrust there is between the “classes”. I euthanized any compassion for humans because of pettiness, violence, and disgust that gets worse every year
@Euron Greyjoy what are you on about lol. There’s truth to your statement about surroundings hindering your progress absolutely , but how big of an issue is people not getting any sleep because of drunks and drug addicts. Unless you were raised in a crack den this is a rarity lol
In the UK, the class thing is huge because of the legacy of aristocracy. That guy's accent annoys people because it would be like some suburban white kid from Palo Alto speaking like he grew up in Compton.
@Euron Greyjoy you’re living in a more expensive area but you still have to put up with tantrums most days? Man you’re getting scammed then. Don’t act as if you’re anecdotal experience is representative of most people. It isn’t at all. If you’ve been putting up with drug addicts and drunks your entire life, that sucks for you, but don’t paint everyone with that brush most people don’t experience that, hence your point about that being a common issue doesn’t stand
Such a waste only knowing Louis Theroux for that. He’s a documentary maker and interviewer - he has done brilliant work delving into porn, plastic surgery addiction, rapping (where that line is from), swingers and loads of other stuff. Well worth checking out his work.

regionally, northerners are seen as more "working class", but someone's accent is in no way a reflection of their class.
Also from Doncaster 🥰 that’s a real Donny accent!

Tell me a single celebrity who just keeps their mouth shut and does their performance, and doesn't support any Liberal elite political movement at the time?

The hate for Dom drives me crazy. I’ve been such a big fan since 21st century liability. The thing is, it’s fine to not be into someone’s music, or not like them, but it’s so frustrating when people try to justify their dislike on things that are totally fabricated, “lies” that he’s never made.
This young man is on his way to being a utter legend!
What’s amazing is the fact that he even feels like he has to defend himself in the first place.

What a well-spoken guy. Among all the glamorized dumbasses unable to string together a few sentences, he's a breath of fresh air.

I don't know much about the guy, but he's a phenomenal musician. His vocal talent surprised me whenever I first listened to him. He's also a great guitarist and pianist. I'm only judging by his live performances. I've only heard one of his songs that was produced through a studio.
I love your accent. Beautiful

Why cant people just accept where we come from and not what we have had. Dom aka Yungblud is a pure, genuine person so leave him alone.....
Watching Doctor Who has really paid off for my knowledge of English Accents AND ironically how people from the north get treated differently. 💙
We need no sympathy, we’re all hard as nails

@@Alfred5555 ok cool. 👍 Thanks for telling me.
@@Alfred5555 accentism is a MAJOR problem for northern/midlands people when they move south and can actually affect your ability to get a job.

@@Accio_Eloise If you don't understand the difference between a poor person pretending to be rich, and a rich person pretending to be poor, then God help us.

there are class struggles in every country, it's just that it not being the main focus in people's minds when they talk about political change makes it seem like it isnt an issue even if it is, such as in quite a few scandinavian countries.

Oi oiii

Your so called comparison is so wildly wrong I just-
Both the US and UK have issues with both.
And the UK not being racially diverse? 😂 What
Well said. Those that don’t see that have never lived in a society outside the bedroom and the computer 😂
Would actually say that in the US being from the south is considered the same way north is in England .
His biggest mistake is caring.
This guy is intensely likable, the more I see of him the more I like. His music isn't my cup of tea, but it has a message and I support that.
Love you, dude!
This obsession with class is so pathetic. Who cares what class someone comes from if they’re good at their job?
that's true, but I think what this video is related to is people hating when people who had a good upbringing with a rich family say shit like "you can make it if you work hard" when they never had to work hard because their parents' money was always there and without it they wouldn't be as far as they are in life, so someone who doesn't come from a rich family can't actually achieve what those rich people achieved
I'm from 20 miles away from Doncaster and sound like I've always lived in Surrey
