  • The Cuillin of Skye are Britain's most technically challenging mountains well known for their Alpine like majesty and their wonderful climbing and scrambling opportunities. Great bastions of gabbro forged from the guts of an ancient volcano, they form a darkly atmospheric mountaineering arena that is intimidating and awe inspiring in the same breath. The southern tip of the Cuillins are known for the excellent scrambling and it was certainly found to be the case.
With an unusual high pressure weather pattern sitting over the Isle of Skye we had a week of 30c temperatures and clouds struggling to get over the mountains, on this day we did what turned out to be the greatest scrambling day I have ever had with amazing views and clouds drifting around below us.
We climbed out of Coire Lagan up the steep scree slope onto the ridge then scrambled up Sgurr MhicChonnih before locating Hart's ledge and then having a magnificent scramble up Sgurr Thearlaich then finally we scrambled up Sgurr Alasdair before making our way back down the great stone chute.

Stunning video Chris, some great views and heart stopping drops, those scree slopes look very perilous.

I'm blown away by how beautiful the view is, you guys are hardy to take on such a climb but good on you all for completing it. As always stunning camera work and edit, the drone shots were spot on.

Thanks, it was a top 3 hiking day of a lifetime for sure we were so blessed with the weather esp the lack of wind which enabled me to crack the drone out although landing it was a bit iffy in those locations LOL.

WOW, This has to be your best yet. Just watching you lot go up the scree made me have to go and lie down. And the thin narrow ledges had my toes curling. You can all be extremely proud of yourselves for pulling off such a great day. Is the big rock you have to squeeze past the one you told me about?

Glad you enjoyed it I try to make every video better than the last. No that big rock is one from this year (2022) but its gonna be a while before that video is made I have more to make from this week in 2021 first, you know how fast my output is on videos LOL.

Fab video, could you see the TD Gap from the top of Sgurr Thearlaich? It's the only summit I haven't done in the Southern Cuillin.
