I like your new version of skyblock, but also, i think it undermines the pholosophy of skyblock. the point is that it is the least amount of space possible with the least amount of resources. By making the island larger and giving more resources like iron ore, it undermines the challenge of working your way up

I love how you didn't change the shape of the builds as well as made sure the Redstone that was in the builds still worked. A lot of transformations I've seen don't do this and over exaggerate things. Amazing work!! 🥰
These were really great builds but I personally feel that making the skyblock island a generic cone shape was a mistake as it removes a lot of the charm the original build had. If you had instead kept the L shape of the island but made it look more organic I think it would’ve worked better as a reimagined version than just something that took inspiration.
As someone who didn't really watch or grow up with Dan's stuff, I have to disagree. Honestly the idea of a 'holy grail' for Minecraft builds is very, VERY subjective. For me, the holy grail would be Yogscast stuff (i.e. the Yogcave from the survival series, whether it be before or after anything to do with the Israphel storyline, basically ANY of the builds for Shadow of Israphel, the Jaffa Factory or the Baked Bean Fort, though those last two are dependent on the Tekkit and Galacticraft modpack/mods respectively).
this is honestly what dan should have done with the lab instead of getting an entirely new lab in the jungle the new jungle lab always felt soulless and to generic for me

didnt watch the video yet but tbh i feel like a pretty important part of dantdms lab was that it had no proper ceiling except for the entrance, it was very open for easier movement and for testing mods better

As someone who grew up constantly watching and rewatching DanTDM’s old content, this was an incredible build to see. I actually reinimaged some of his reviews with this lab in place of the old one and it felt nostalgic. I dunno if you’ve done this one already, but for more nostalgia I wanna say it would be awesome to see PopularMMOs builds like his arena, or Jen’s house from their mod reviews Your an amazing builder, and again want to say a million thanks for this trip down memory lane

I specifically came to this video just for the lab updated build, and I gotta say, it’s pretty good. Even tho it looks kinda completely different in some ways, like the floor inside or the obvious outward appearance, it still felt like the lab to me. So yeah, good job on recreating one of the iconic builds I still remember from when I was watching Dan’s channel as a little kid.

I honestly think this looks so much better and has much more personality than the other replacement lab Dan moved to later in his videos. It just felt too cluttered and Blan in my opinion. This redone version of the original lab still keeps the parts that made it so charming while also updating it with modern flare :3
Honestly, my only criticism about the Lab transformation is that you replaced the main room/lobby’s floor…I’d argue that’s the most iconic part of the lab and it just feels weird without it, but overall it does fit in much better with the rest of the transformation

I got a wave of memories when I saw the thumbnail, I grew up with the lab, but I forget the villagers name and the skeleton dogs name, (even after you said it) when I saw his new lab vid, I was sad, but the end of an era, is always the start of a new one.
Really really impressive. I know you probably don’t take suggestions, but for the future, another nostalgic Minecraft build you could possibly update is Think’s Lab from Thinknoodles’ old iconic Minecraft Mod Showcase series with the same name.
I think its really cool that your transforming all these iconic worlds from our childhood with the newest blocks. Keep up the great work and keep making great builds.
If you'd be inclined, I think it would be awesome for you to do this more, and maybe even try to mimick some modded series? My top picks for a redesign would be Stampys House (Unless you wanted to punish yourself be doing the whole lovely world) Iballisticsquids Sky Island Popularmmos arena Squids Original Pixelmon house Any of the three main bases in The Race To the Moon modded series.
Loved all of these transformations! Ooo I would like to see a transformation on any of the iconic builds from the Yogscast next! I believe there are some fan recreations of their worlds out there as well if you need the base.
I’ve barely seen any content of Dan’s lab in years, seeing the build again brought back a wave of nostalgia, I absolutely love the stuff you added to it 🥲
@@ThaMango1I believe there is a fan recreation of the world as it appears in Stampy’s videos but I’m not sure if it was made on X-Box or not. If it was, I don’t know if there’s a way to convert it into a world Java can recognise and not mess up upon loading into it.
herobrines mansion is nostalgic for me first time i played on that world i told myself this would be a perfect haunted mansion renovation for Halloween thats what i plan on doing this October
3:45 i find it funny how the shadowplay mod can't speed up the refresh timer on animated textures so blocks like campfires, fire, or maybe even nether portal blocks just randomly stop until the refresh timer catches up
I don’t know if you’ll see this since it’s 3 weeks later, but another two builds I can think of that I’d love to see get rebuilt are Popularmmos arena and house.

My son made Dan’s lab when he was a kid. It was surprisingly close to the real thing.

9:17 if you make yourself invisible with a command, there is the option to hide the particles. (Just add „true“ after the effect level and duration)
