Thanks for the great review! Planet Zoo really stepped it up for the gift shop. This is so much more customizable than I thought it would be. I am extremely impressed with what they did - you can make it whatever size you want, you can place the register and all the displays wherever you want, the randomization of the items on the shelfs... AND, all of the gifts are available as props as well. Yowza! Great job Frontier!!!! Oh, and best of all, this is in the FREE update.
I really did not expect this from modular souvenir shops! I have one mug at home and it's absolutely amazing to finally see it in the game! The developers really exceeded all expectations. This is the best update ever! I can't wait to see what other creators can do with it! 🤩
Yeah this could be an early release of some new features being developed for Planet Coaster 2 (I imagine the successor to Planet Zoo will follow sometime after)

I'm guessing the guest pathfinding in the shops is affected by how close the the shelves are. Spreading them out will probably help. And I'm sure within a week or two we'll have an update/fix for any issues.
I agree, the walkable space looked a little narrow! I also think that maybe the fact that there were only like 2 or 3 displays with items on them had an effect on it, too? Like maybe guests won't crowd around and look at an empty shelving unit, only the ones that actually have things on it to look at so they aren't pointing and smiling at nothing

I have some mixed feelings about them adding in the golden tiger variation, I love how it looks but I also kind of stopped thinking white or gold tigers look beautiful after learning that neither color occurs in the wild and is the result of repeated inbreeding in captivity. I feel like adding that kind of counters the overall message of Planet Zoo being about animal conservation and care, but I also know it's just a video game and they do look really cool
Both morphs are known to occur in the wild. White ones came from a cub, captured in the wild, and Jim Corbett recorded an adult white morph female in the wild. Also there was that pale tiger in southern India around 2017 that had sort off an off-white color sometimes seen in white tigers. 2020 a golden tiger was found living in the Kaziranga National Park.
Yeah I honestly dont think Frontier would have added these color morphs to the game if there was no way these animals would be found in the wild, even if only a super small chance? But I dont know that much about it, so I could be completely wrong 🙈😅

Color variants most certainly occur in the wild, just not as often as they do in captivity because of breeding.
