曼城有很好的公共交通網絡，真係可以唔洗揸車。
人少（唔洗買SUV)，唔買貴車，有較長的駕照年資（無ncd)，其實都係幾百鎊保費一年。不過，都要睇下係咩區，有啲區域或是你家停車的位置，都影響著保費。
看自己需要啦，覺得需要咪揸，唔需要咪唔揸。
初來的時候打死都唔想揸車，但最後因為想搵工，又想擺脫自閉，沒法子，就克服佢。 🙈
For the last couple of week after finding your first video on my recommeneded feed. I`ve viewed quite a few videos from your life in HK to the UK. As an Ex-pat myself who moved to the UK with my parents 42 yrs ago and seeing how you and your family adjust to UK life, Highs and lows, and keeping your kids cultural identity. I was very lucky as my mum back in the 1980s could not speak english so cantonese only was spoken around the house. So I can understand and speak cantonese but I am unable to read or write it. Keep up the good work on future videos and hopfully Finn`s cantonese will improve though time.

Well, if you buy a second hand car with about 8 years. It will be much cheaper. It just depends on the amount of budget you have.

My family has an Audi A3. It isn't an SUV not even a standard sedan. The runnung cost of the previous year is around £2000. We drove 8500miles. Here is the breakdown. Fuel £1200, service £240, and insurance £500. You may have them for your reference. Imo qashqai is not a nice family car. I suggest 公公婆婆 have a test drive and you sitting at the rear seats. When the car is parked in a supermarket, you barely get off the car on your own. The door has a silly design.

tips > get an automatic transmission license instead of a manual one , much easier to pass .
many way to save money when come to newbies buy insurance and car . first 2-3 year suffer a bit but with a car , it is very useful when come to raining days.

數字的確誇大左, 我個例子：
買車（2手細車）£7000
保險（新牌）£1500/年
養車（£100-150/月）大部份油費
稅，MOT都係有限錢
加埋平均一個月都係£300-400最多
佢連running cost同initial cost都未識分,連考車呢d唔關有無車事既成本都計落去真係一絕
我哋都曼城，太太上年五月開始考筆試（第四次Pass)，一月啱啱考到車牌(第三次pass 0 Fault) ，你哋加油呀

All 3 of my kids got their driver's license between 16-17 years old but I was in their car for one year before they started driving on their own. Just because someone got a driver's license does not mean they are ready to drive, takes a lot of experience to do it right. My first kid ran over a ladder on the freeway, so her brand new car had a big dent on the bottom. My middle kid crashed two cars before she was confident with driving. My son got into two minor fender benders. Since my parents were in HK, I didn't have the pleasure of my parents sitting in my car for a year to guide me, I got into a car accident one week after I bought my first car. So yes, learning to drive is no fun but at the end of the day it's worth it. If Laurence parents are willing to drive with Laurence for a few months after he got his license, it'll help a lot. Should have done it when he was a teenager but it's still not too late to ask for parent's help.

唔知係唔係變咗. 我上年年尾申請 provisional driving license, 有效期係10年而唔係兩年.
Hi . Provisional licences are only for learner drivers . Once you pass your test you have to apply for a full driving licence . (Another cost) The theory test certificate is only valid for two years.
我都住曼城，日常生活無車都ok嘅，揸車又唔係must
呢邊交通配套都可以，即使我呢邊無metrolink，都可以坐巴士，10分鐘就有一班，所以返工唔係問題；平時買野街口就有超市，無車都可以解決
但係如果想去下朋友屋企，出去玩等等就真係無計，揸車真係方便好多
完全同意，到時坐 Uber, 正體慳好多
我考咗牌十年之後至買車，保險便宜了40%

其實我一開始睇你哋啲片,你哋兩個都冇車牌我真係覺得有啲意外,可能雖然我喺中國,但係都曾經去過下外邊玩,好似紐西蘭,無車唔知點算我覺得啊~~我喺大陸去紐西蘭都係租車玩,從左軚轉右軚大概半日就習慣啦~我其實好想去香港再考多個牌,因為中國嘅執照,日本租唔到車,翻譯都唔得嘅~~我本人好鍾意開車,方便同自由,不過,養車真係一筆幾大費用~~重有,以一個喺中國有10年車齡以上嘅老司機,聽完妳老爺奶奶講妳老公嘅車技,我係真心覺得妳哋都係UBER算啦~~呵呵,唔係講笑~~

揸車係好 stressful，初哥學神搵架二手，聽來sensible，但係二手不免多搞怪，整車又係一筆，呢d似乎係成長過程既必不可少，所以叫冇揸都冇用，冇揸車係少左好多樂趣，同stress比，都係唔揸好過，尤其係有uber可撿，逐之係需要或者係必要，見仁見智。
有幾stressful 揸幾個月就咩事都無喇，講到尾就係人一到年紀就呢樣唔敢個樣唔敢。

一架2014 既 Renault ZOE 22kWh 細電版 130 miles range 唔駛£4000. 如果活動範圍係50miles 內，😊只是接送仔女去下街。 非常足夠。 買二手電車基本上唔駛請mechanical check車，試駕完之後。望一眼dashboard 個 battery health percentage,滿意俾錢就揸走。
😅❤另外，揸電動車只需要自動波牌。 控制容易，無離合器。一踏油門就去，😅全部電動車都係扭力怪獸。 0 -40mph 😅D 百幾萬嘅BMW / Mercedes-Benz 😅要駁唒條老命轉波先扒到你頭。

我老公40幾歲才考到車牌。我在英國斷斷續續住了10年，都沒有車牌。很不方便。很多地方都去不到。除非住大城市，如果唔係我一定建議朋友先在香港考到車牌再來英國。

還有這裡手牌（manual）比較便宜，但自排就貴上不少，考慮下來後，還是搭Uber 比較方便
不過有台車有時後真的很方便，英國有些鄉間小鎮，叫不到Uber

Actually Uber price in US has doubled. It's no longer cheap. I used to take Uber to the LAX for $60 (2 years ago) and now it's $110. Not sure if the same in UK.
