    have ridden insano's for about 5 or 6 years now and they've held up really well for the abuse I've put them through (regular touring + 50 day seasons in resort). I've got a busted ankle so need as much support as I can get. of the two pairs I've had one boot started to come apart on one of the boa runners, but Ride were awesome when they warrantied it, sent them the photo of the boot and the receipt and they sent me a new shell straight away. should get one more season out of my insano's and then I'll be tempted to try these Torrent's out

    Thank you for consistently uploading and putting forth effort.
    Barefooted, my right foot measures 26.5 mm, equivalent to a size 8.5 in the USA, while my left foot measures 26.7 mm, equivalent to a size 9. Considering your advice from another video about these shoes running half a size larger, should I go for the 8.5 Ride Fuse?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I found lately Ride fits more true to size. This is a tough call but might be best to go 8.5 as your left is still a few mm short of a 9. Just do a heat mold to use a toe cap on the left to get some more room.

    I heard these come with "Cored Ankle Pockets". Is that just more space for ankle bones and did you notice anything in this regard?

      @thegoodridesnow  8 месяцев назад

      I have f'd up ankles that have lots of scar tissue and they hold them very well.

    Rode the Torrent last year for approx 60 days. Really enjoyed the overall performance and fit of this Boot. Duel BOA are key, for me, for minimal heel lift and solid fit & feel. Fortunate to wear right outta the box with no pressure points or discomfort. Solid boot for All Mountain adventuring.

    Thanks for video. Need new boots for this season. My eyes are on The 92 and Torrent. Which one u recommend for all mountain freestyle(Resorts)? Thx

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would go 92 as it's more of an all mtn/mtn freestyle resort boot. The Torrent is better for those that hike/drift/rover/splitboard and ride the resorts. If you don't split/drift/etc then you are paying extra for something you don't need.

    What do you think about having a 2E wide foot... would you suggest the lasso pro or these? I just didnt love the zoning for the lasso pro... I couldn't get the foot tighter without my shins getting to tight on the front of the boot...Ive had the Burton photon and they were great a couple years ago but they got small with the new construction for my wide foot... Any boot suggestions?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  9 месяцев назад

      It might work with a lot of heat molding so if this boot calls to ya might be worth a shot. I would also check a true wide boot like the lasso pro wide, k2 wide or Burton Wide boots. Or hit me up here if you want to get into it more shop.thegoodride.com/

    I think the issue with the fuse’s sole is that the tread pattern is more akin to a mud terrain than a snow tire

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  5 месяцев назад

      Maybe. Whatever they are doing was scary at first till I scrapped the rubber on pavement enough to get traction.

    What reasons would make you pick this over the trident and vice versa?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  3 месяца назад

      Trident is way stiffer/more responsive. Torrent is a medium flex and has an adjustible cuff for different calf sizes. Has a little more shock absorbtion but less flex retention.

    They are tempting, but as I told you in another video, my experience with the Lasso Pro means a big no for Ride boots.
    7:43 is what I mean. I'd like to hear your thoughts after a couple of months, and to see if they are not desintegrated. Because as I said, they are tempting because the ideas are great, but what worries me is the durability. In my case, 2 boas broke by themselves (broken, not replaceable), the BOA's wires broke (they say textil is the same as metal. Nope, that's not true), the hooks for the wires ripped off the boots, wet feet since the very first day, big bulges in the ankles, and more issues. And all after less than 90 days.
    I bought them because I had the insano for 2 and a half seasons and they were spectacular, best boots ever, but I wanted to try something a bit softer. I was really dosappointed. Now it's hard for me to trust Ride again. I mean, I am not rich... That's why I'd love some update if you experience some issues that shouldn't happen.

      The Ride Fuse's I own have been really good to me so I'm willing to give it a try but I'll for sure give a follow up review at the end of this season. I'm also very curious about the K2 Waive boots. Hope to try those.

    Thoughts on the Ride Trident?

      Been a while since I rode it but liked it. Here is our old review and it actually hasn't changed that much since then. The review isn't very well edited like newer reviews but on there are all my thoughts. thegoodride.com/snowboard-boot-reviews/ride-trident-2014-2018-snowboard-boot-review/

      Yes in same day comparisons you really feel the difference. The Fuse feels stiffer and more responsive.

      @@thegoodridesnow thanks for your reply, is the heel hold as good as the fuse? Now it’s sales time there’s a reasonable priced torrent that’s quite tempting.

    These were suppoused to be flex 8 boots. First 2324 catalogue shown Torrent as flex 8. I was really hyped. Then, on production level, they got flex 6, which - to be honest - is shit. RIDE has plenty of mid-range-flex boots and just 1 in flex 8. Fuse, with shitty laces would be ideal boot but with double BOA.
    Well, I guess Ride doesn't like to fill the lineup properly, just make a boots that will sell the most (mid range flext boots to "everyone").
    That sucks...
