For anyone considering the XMOD, it has an extra 30mm of ground clearance compared to the standard Scenic model. Bringing it from the standard 120mm to 150mm. This combined with the Grip Xtend feature make the XMOD worth considering if you regularly travel over easy mountain roads or forest tracks. Something like a Skoda Yeti with 180mm ground clearance and 4x4 option would obviously be better for mud, snow and deeper tracks. But the XMOD clearance & Grip Xtend should be enough for most. Plus it doesn't have the additional complexity, maintenance and weight that a VAG Haldex system would.
