So a little backstory on Blue October so you can be prepared to go down the rabbit hole. Justin Furstenfeld is the lead singer/somgwriter. He has had a life fraught with mental illness and drug addiction and the earlier albums were created during those times of struggle so they're often dark and depressing. They're beautiful songs but they come from lots of pain. the later albums from 2012 on were when he finally got sober and got his life together and started his family. Its a long journey. There is one album called Any man in America that Blue October did. That entire album is about Justin's divorce from his first wife so its a bit different from his other stuff but just as personal and emotional.
