      @@urieltamir91 Maglev recorded 603km/h in 2015. However that was a test run, so practical use is still ahead. Also current Shinkansen can actually run more than 400km/h, but for safety reasons they are operating at a speed limit of 320km/h.

    After traveling to Tokyo a couple times and seeing many of your videos, it kind of feels like Japan is living in 2123 while the rest of us are back here in 2023 (or like 1953 here in parts of the US). I’ve been to quite a few big cities all over the world, and none even come close to the level of common sense automation and technology that seems quite common in Japan’s big cities. Combine with that the level of respect the Japanese have for others and their environment and it’s a place that is really unlike anywhere else.

      If the Japanese truly respected others and the environment, they wouldn't forcibly discharge nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean. Additionally, not all Japanese streets are clean; there are also areas with poor environmental conditions. Don't blindly worship, as the Japanese are not gods.

    So funny you made this video now! I just finished two weeks of rail pass traveling around tohoku with mostly the hayabusa and yamabiko. (Well also went to Akita and Niigata). I stayed four days at the toyoko inn at shin aomori, super convenient. Spent my last day hanging between utsunomiya and Fukushima taking videos of train passings haha. Tip: if you take the yamabiko from Sendai (or see it coming in) to Fukushima, you'll be passed by a hayabusa, so if you go all the way to the front you can take a cool shot of the standing train and passing train. Same for the other direction.

    I didn’t ride the Tsubasa but I have rode the Shinkansen more times than I can count in the 3 times I been to Japan. The Shinkansen is so smooth and quiet it feel like it’s a spaceship gliding across Japan.
    Honolulu Rail line will finally open to the public in July. It’s been a while. And it’s just half way completed. It’s typical for rail projects in US to drag on and go way over budget.

      @@manofsan Yes, although it might be worth assessing the environmental impact before wider adoption, as it looks like there is another layer of plastic of the container in addition to the plastic tray that holds the food, plus the calcium mix that helps generate the heat. Unfortunately, one of my few criticisms of Japan is the amount of waste still present in convenience food packaging.

    • @manofsan
      @manofsan 2 года назад +1

    • @KittenBowl1

      @@soggymoggytravels Most of these are burnable plastics. There’s such a thing as burnable plastics in Japan. And no one really trashes in the sea like in some other developing nations that kill marine species. You haven’t been to oceans or rivers in Japan. It’s extremely clean.

    • @soggymoggytravels
      @soggymoggytravels Год назад

      @@KittenBowl1 Thank you for your comment, and I'm aware of the approach to burnable plastics. I think that it's still questionable as to how much is released in terms of dioxins in such a procedure. Ideally we would all use less plastic to start with. And, yes, I have seen (and put my feet in) various water bodies in Japan.

    I remember that time we have 4 hours to waste before our transport departs and my friend and I just decided to kill time at the Karaoke. We played some music but then proceed to take a nap. We almost missed our ferry good thing the staffs alerted us 😭

    Seeing that service robot reminds me of the time London Underground had a hologram guide at one station as a test run to have them at 80% of the stations. People were so creeped out by it it kept getting pushed down a flight of stairs and it was abandoned after a week.
