Apocalypse is a very underrated character. He should have the potential to be a universal threat due to his celestial technology. But marvel says otherwise
I've always felt that. The X-Men selfishly hog him when he's a threat to everybody all the time.

Thanos wasn't really a Avengers villian but more of a threat to the entire marvel universe. They made Thanos more of a Avenger villian due to the movies. I think Thanos would win but not by much. I also think Apocalypse is better.

I hate to correct you, but if you look at earlier comic books, Thanos was a major enemy of the Avengers, LONG before anybody thought about bringing the Avengers to the movies. I mainly refer to when Thanos tried to find and use the Cosmic Cube, it took the Avengers and Captain Marvel to defeat him.

HERU Apocalypse Apocalypse is alright but he stays in his own lane. He is an x man villian. Not a marvel villian, an x man villian. Thanos is on another level. It takes more than a few steroid humans to deal with thanos, you need the real SUPER POWERED characters to deal with him. And even then they fail. Thanos is one of the most successful villains in all of the verse. He has literally killed the living tribunal in his king thanos form. Keep in mind the living tribunal is a top tier G.O.D. There is one of him and one only. No alternate versions. He did this without the infinity gauntlet.

I completely agree. Apocalypse has Celestial technology, Time Travel technology, and virtually every mutant ability there is. And it is ABSURD the way people say "Thanos can stand up to Galactus." Look who HASN'T defeated Galactus in those comics! The comics have had a countless number of wimps defeat Galactus over the years. But that shouldn't be taken seriously. Those comics have Trypticon as the leader of the Decepticons and a standard-sized robot, even though he turns into a HUGE city!
Believe it or not Apocalypse would actually hold his own against Thanos...esp if he's written the way he's supposed to be written.
I would love to see Apocalypse have an encounter with Thanos in the comics. The biggest weakness of Apocalypse against Thanos is that he has that M bison effect. He's so powerful his body wears down and he has to transfer his conscious to a new body. If Apocalypse finds a new body that can contain all his power he could def go toe to toe with Thanos. And another thing...apocalypse is always learning. Always scheming to get stronger. He wouldn't challenge Thanos until he felt he was strong enough...hence his social Darwin belief of "only the strong survive." And suddenly I have an idea for a fan fiction. 😆

ryan turney Thanos would have to monitor apocalypse the same way he monitors Dr. Doom. Apocalypse has mega potential to rival Thanos. One aspect people rarely harp on is the fact he (apocalypse) only scratched the surface of the celestial tech. So imagine if he evolved and master much more of it? The problem with the apocalypse stems from writers not evolving him as a character.

I don't think there's as clear a winner. During secret wars on battle world, Apocalypse stepped into a fight with the Thor Corp. He immediately starts handing out ass smashers to Thors left and right. Apocalypse has subdued the Hulk easily prior to making him his horseman. Also, celestial technology is far above Galactus. The same issue where Hulk becomes the horseman war, the enhancements from celestial technology trumped the Juggernaut. He's the avatar for Cytorakk who is an elder god. I could be wrong here, but from somewhere in my memory elder gods are above even skyfathers like Odin and Zeus. I'm sure I'm starting to sound like an Apocalypse fanboy. Well I am. But, I'm actually a Thanos one too. However, in my opinion, I think a lot of people side with Thanos because of what he's accomplished and I can understand that. But I think the vs. isn't so easily defined. In my opinion I think Apocalypse just has smaller goals. I mean his goal is for survival of the fittest for mutants on earth. And that goal is to sit back and wait it out to see how it goes most of the time. He's very much more of a string puller than hands on villian. That doesn't mean his power level is less...ok now that I got that out of the way I'll say Thanos also.

Let's put a few things in perspective here before we get out of hand, shall we?
Yes, Thanos is very strong, and can do this, and do that..yadda yadda yaa...etc ok we get it.
But might I remind you, Apocalypse is basically a god. Although the Marvel movies seriously nerf the living fuck out of characters, if you watched The Xmen movie with Apocalypse, what he accomplished should have been enough to show you just how strong he is.
Apocalypse with a mere thought, changed the molecular make up of other mutants. WITH A THOUGHT!!!! He was able to use Cerebro using Magneto as a vessel to do so. He can travel much like nightcrawler and teleport anywhere he wants. He can grow to however large he wants. The list of his powers are damn near infinite. My point is, that yes Thanos is strong, BUT, there is no way in hell he could defeat a mutant who is capable of destroying him with thought. Think about it. Apocalypse could take Thanos' powers away if he wanted to. I really don't think you or anyone else who thinks Thanos could beat Apocalypse has done their research. I've been a comic book collector for 37yrs, trust me when I say, yes this would be an awesome battle, but Apocalypse will most certainly be the victor. Now, Thanos vs Darkseid or Doomsday yes, Thanos would win. But all of them would fall to Apocalypse. The only reason Apocalypse was defeated in the movie was, it took for Jean Gray to let The Phoenix have full control (who by the way is also a God, not Jean, but The Phoenix). I believe after you do some serious research you will discover i am right. I think its only fair that this match be a rematch, and you make a correction video......jussayin

Because darseid can manipulate matter, his omega beam (thats likes his main lethal weapon) is capable of destroying anything he even kill superman with the omega beam darkseid conquer many planets. Darkseid can travel through galaxies planets in the speed of light.Darkseid survive the black hole without breaking a sweat. Thanos also survive the black hole but he almost died. So thats why i think darkseid is stronger

I would say that apocalypse would win, but if thanos has the infinity stones he would win
Apocalypse would win. However, Thanos is nmy favorite Villan; don't think he has a chance without the Gauntly. Thanos is a superior tactician and battle stategist; given time he would figure out what tech or weapons (cube, heart , or the gauntlet or something else) he needs to defeat Apocolypse. Outside of that, Thanos won't go into battle unless he's clear he has the edge.. ...just will not do it.

Apocalypse would EASILY defeat Thanos! ... The combination of Celestial technology and the fact that Apocalypse has absorbed virtually every mutant power there is means Apocalypse wins this - easily - IF the writer would allow Apocalypse to actually "use" those powers without "holding back" and "not hurting a mutant." For example, at the end of X-Men Apocalypse, we saw Apocalypse could have instantly killed Cyclops, Beast, and Quicksilver. Instead, Apocalypse just made the mud hold them without killing them. That is a textbook example of "holding back" and "being prevented from winning by the writers." If that were realistic, Apocalypse would have EASILY defeated all of them! ... In the 90s animated X-Men program, we heard Apocalypse say, "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you." And that is 100% true. ... And the Celestial technology of Apocalypse makes it so Apocalypse would do fine against Galactus. It is terrible the way the comics allowed Thanos and so many other weak characters to compete against Galactus over the years. Using the comics as a reference shouldn't even be allowed. It was like that with Transformers the way the comics had Trypticon as the leader of the Decepticons and Trypticon was a standard sized robot rather than a HUGE robot that transformed into a city.

I think Thanos would win due to his experience in the galaxy. He's had access to much more technology that Apocalypse has only dreamed about. Also if Apocalypse is so dope why does he stay on Earth. Has access to Celestial tech and believes only the strong survive but only applies that to Earth.
And he gets his ass whooped over and over by the X Men. When Thanos wrecks the Avengers and even the X Men, by himself. Fought Odin and Galactus to a stand still too.

If based solely on what is stated that they should be able to do, Apocalypse would win easily.
If based solely on the feats that have been shown in comics, Thanos would win but not easily.
Apocalypse has always been written to be a jobber to the stars and is only barely an Earth level threat. However based on what he should be able to do given his power set, there's not many beings in the Marvel Universe who would be able to stop him. Thanos is not one of them. Thanos is still Thanos though and that's not a bad place to be in the Marvel Universe but he's no Apocalypse.
I would love it if there were a story where Apocalypse lived up to his power set and took the 616 to it's knees.

Pretty much this. Apocalypse back when he had his original classic body was a real sight to behold. He would wreck even Thanos. If fact that was exactly the issue. Once they actually wrote him into a story, his creators realised just how stupidly OP they’d made him and needed a way to depower him for the sake of the plot (otherwise, like you said, he’d just plough through 90% of Marvel Universe below Skyfather-tier) so they had him lose his original body through some PIS and have that as the reason hens never been as powerful since. Kinda like what happened with Magneto getting random, unexplained nerfs in more and more stories over the years as we in the real world discover more about the Electromagnetic spectrum and how UTTERLY BROKEN a character like that would be. Any being which truely had complete and unlimited control over the entire EM spectrum would essentially be God of the physical universe - but we’re taking about Apocalypse here and I’m getting off topic.

As much as you’re right about Thanos winning this fight, I still root for Apocalypse. Why, because as all powerful and intelligent Thanos is, he’s not my favorite character. Apocalypse left such an impression on my childhood, ever since I watched the 90’s X-Men cartoon. We was just so imposing and menacing.

I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which these two might come into conflict. I come up with this: Thanos is a champion of death. Apokolyps seeks to rule, not kill. Death is just one of his tools. Moreover, his focus is on mutantkind. He largely ignores ordinary humans.
So let's say Thanos decided to destroy all human mutants. In this case, Apokolyps could be viewed as a savior!
I still think Thanos could win a one on one. But it wouldn't be like that. Mutantkind are fierce when fighting for their survival, and they will make unlikely allies when necessary. That considered, I think Thanos would be forced to retreat. It would make for a good story, though.:)

Apocalypse has not been there since before the beginning of time, he was born on Earth. He's only a few thousand years old, not millions of years old. I'm not sure where you got that from

It actually happened once - in "Super-Villain Team-Up". Thanos seems kind of vulnerable. he seems to be susceptible to physical and psychic attacks.
Apocalypse is indestructible and can hurt the telepath trying to invade Apocalypse's mind; up to and including making the telepath go comatose.
I'm not sure what amount of strength matters for Thanos if Apocalypse increases his own strength and makes himself 100x bigger than Thanos.
Imho, if Apocalypse can't beat Thanos, then stalemate. But Thanos cannot actually beat Apocalypse.

You need to read up on Thanos and not the weak movie version. Apocalypse has a ton of weapons but in the end he is just an earth threat...not a mulitverse threat like Thanos..reality altering doesnt even effect Thanos. Thanos would turn that celestial tech against him and he would sit on his hovering throne and smile and make apocalypse one of his children.
Especially because Apocalypse is Ancient, he's been around for eons, so that gave his powers even more time to mature!

In my opinion, in a straight brawl fight Thanos fighting Apocalypse without Infinity Gauntlet, Apocalypse will win but is a hell of a fight, Apocalypse had infinite amount of energy to boost his physical stats like speed, durability, strength and regeneration to unlimited amount. Thanos needs his infinity gauntlet to make that kind of stuff too, but Apocalypse didn't need any sort of stones to make himself physically strong. Thanos without Infinity Gauntlet, Apocalypse wins BIG TIME.
