Why the hell would you willingly drain water from an area that suffers from drought? Beyond me.

I would like to direct your attention to the 3 nuclear reactors in Japan that are in full melt down. The extinction of humanity is at stake, daily the reactors are belching radiation that will effect everyone health in years to come. Additionally there are 100's of reactors in the US at risk of meltdown because of age and poor maintenance. Bottom line the ducks will die also!

Jeez. I typically think of Canadians as having their S#!T more together when it comes to environmental respect, knowledge and understanding. I thought our neighbors to the north of the U.S.A. had us beat. Sad to find out you are just a backward and shortsighted and destructive as so many in the U.S. The future generations have so much to be pissed about. Land owners and governmental agencies need to become better stewards of these great resources. There are ways to do what is correct and still not loose your shirt. But focus and priorities have to be changed.

Ya know, not all wetlands need to be protected.
