In the version of Rumpelstiltskin my fairytale book had him angrily stamp his foot so hard that the earth opened up and he fell into hell! Flying away on a soup spoon is much more PG! 😂
I just cam here for the reverse engineering but then it turned into STORY TIME?? Okay, instant subscribing, that was so cute and wholesome and took me back to my childhood of my mom reading to me. What a lovely idea instead of boring montages and music.
I'm so impressed not only by how much knitting you get done, but also that you manage to edit all these videos to upload them all during Craftmas 😭 serious dedication!!
the soup spoon is definitely the pg version of Rumpelstilzchen! when i was a kid in the 2000s in Germany, he ripped himself apart in anger. "Das hat Dir der Teufel gesagt!" (the devil told you that!)
@@stephanemamiHe stomps the floor so hard his leg drops in to the groin. Then he grabs his other leg and tears himself apart. *Then* in an extended version, during the baptism of the child three old women appear, claiming to be aunts, but actually fairies bent on protecting the miller's daughter from the king. Each of them is disfigured in a specific way brought about by spinning: Coarse fingers, a saggy lower lip from constantly licking her fingers and a huge, flat right foot from pedaling the spinning wheel. Seeing them, the king forbids his wife to ever do any spinning again. 😂
@@ClaudiaArnold you are mixing two fairy tales together. I know the one with the three spinning aunts as the reason a king forbids his wife from ever spinning again as a seperate tale. There are some similar elements but in my Grimms tales book they are seperate and have differences. The one with the spinnster aunts has no spinning straw into gold, she just claimed to be an incredible spinner even though she can't spin and there is no Rumplestiltskin, the aunts help her from the start. Also no baby as payment.
I love how this is coming out. How wonderful to hear a fairy tale during this episode as well! I am working on some hand quilting as I watch these videos. Super excited to see how this ski sweater comes out- so far its beautiful!
Yes please to the history of Scandinavian ski sweaters! One of my fav movies is The Hero’s of Telemark purely for the 60s-tastic knitwear Kirk Douglas and his lady friend wears ❤❤️
Have you decided on the types of pieces you’re making for the set? I think a pair of traditional Selbu mittens with the rose motif on the top of the hand would be so pretty!
oooo i think i prefer your colour choices :o that lush green! *_* and i really hope you give us a run down on the timing of this project because i will start crying if you knit all this in less than a week. it took me a month to knit the Meretricious jumper ;_; but I AM LOVING YOUR CRAFTMAS VIDEOS :D
This is so lovely, I always enjoy your videos so much! Quick question; what are those delightful wooden decorations in the beginning of the video? They are darling!
Such a well made presentation! I have a vintage (‘60’s?) Brunswick kit with similar orange colored wool. Mine looks like a sport wt. It’s Brunswick100% Pure Shetland Wool color 37 Coral. Interesting you can tell it’s wool yarn under a microscope. I was using bleach test.
IDK if this was her reason, but in general the side seams help stabilize and prevent sagging, so they aren't just for attaching two pieces of fabric together.
Oh my goodness, what terrible men the poor girl in the story had to deal with. A braggert for a father, a douchebag of a king/husband and a opportunistic extortionist of an imp. The new sweater colourwork is so beautiful.
I don’t know if that queen got a happy ending. She’s still stuck with a guy who threatened to kill her three separate times over something someone else said. I mean she gets to keep her baby, at least. She’s rich, too. I guess you need to take wins as they come.

Nutella was such a love this video, I can't get over her! Also can't wait for another vintage sweater remake from you!!
Nutella is just adorable, the forever innocence.

Same! Was looking for this ending :)

That's the version I had in the 1980s also😅
Jupp. Was about to say the same. 😅
For me he stomps so hard on the floor he creates a pit and fall in it… 😂

Ahhh! I love your craftmas videos so much. Last year was so good and this year has not disappointed ☺️
I love how this is coming out. How wonderful to hear a fairy tale during this episode as well! I am working on some hand quilting as I watch these videos. Super excited to see how this ski sweater comes out- so far its beautiful!
Omg!! I've always wanted to hand quilt. I hope you're having fun!!
Nutella is so cute! My pet too is a knitting conpanion AND disruptor haha. I love your craftmas ❤
The colors you picked for the sweater are so beautiful! This will be such a pretty sweater! My heart was melting seeing you & Nutella napping! 🐶🥰
I might need to start knitting inspired by existing garments. Very inspiring.

I’ve been rewatching Once Upon A Time while knitting so your story of Rumplestiltskin was perfect timing!
So fun how in the pink the design reads star flowers and in the cream they are snowflakes at first glance.
Love the colour combo for the remake. I love a dark green and red together
Your fairy tale reading was charming! ❤
Loving the new color combo! But you are right - the coral does look good on you. Great save with the duplicate stitching - going to be beautiful.
I was hoping youd do craftmas again this year. I love this so much. You are so talented.
I really love the colors you chose to knit this sweater in.
It's always good to use the knitting machine because it works up faster then your hands

What a lovely sweater! I'm very excited to see how it comes along. The new colors look really great together.
I like your colour combination much better than the original 😻😻😻
I think the red/pink/orange in the original sweater is neon red. I dont know how one would get that color but I have ideas.
Oh I’m loving the colour combination of you jumper. Can’t wait to see the finished piece
Love that story! ❤
And the knitting, of course 😃✌️💖

Incredible work and a fairy tale too . Thank you ❤
I know you don’t want another knitting machine, but the LK 150 is really handy for those miles of plain stockinette at typical hand knit gauges.
I am wondering if the CSM will come into play for the sleeves...
I loooove the colorway you chose! Absolutely beautiful
Just love your colour combination, like it more than the original
Beautiful knitting and my favourite childhood story, whats not to like.
Aaaawww, you and Nutella, so cute! 🥰

Love the sweater. 🧶
And the storytelling. The evil imp in the story is Called Tittelintuure in Finnish.
I thought you were doing the body in the round? Love the video
Love the colors for this sweater!
Amazing! What software do you use to chart your colourwork, please?
I hope you publish the pattern 💖
Please please please !
Curious why you decided not to try knitting the lower sections in the round? Loving the series.

I never heard that story... I had heard the name but never knew the story 😮 I think I live under a rock 😅
Rumpelstiltskin is one of my favorite fairytales! Where did you find those gorgeous illustrations?
And mine, and the cathedral medieval style is beautiful
@@romystumpy1197 What a horrible shame :/

Agreed! Never liked this story at all, to me the greedy king is no great gift!!
Thats just as happy as it gets with german fairytales.... trust me xD
Wait….. is that Nutella?! That dies t look like Nutella. Have I missed something? My apologies if it is something sad.
Sorry spelling mistake. Doesn’t look like
