Does anyone else have a foul on black in play 1? Just b/c she has 2 hands on the ball does not give her carte blanche to put her opponent in a headlock... whether intentional or not. Plus, she was not in LGP as she came from behind the white player who appears to get her hands on the ball first.

Play #2, OUCH! I have a blocking foul on white for initiating contact.

I disagree with your response you can see the player in black contacting the white player while he is airborne. To me that has to be called. Now after the contact player in white intentionally forces the player in black by pulling him down with him to sell his call to the official. It looks intentional and should have been seen and called

Yeah black clearly bumps the shooter while he’s airborne, but that also doesn’t give white the right to pull him down, I’d have a blocking foul on black and an intentional foul on white, count the basket since white is no longer a shooter

Would you be able to explain why contact with a ball handler coming up the side line which knocks the ball handler out of bounds is never ruled a push but out of bounds on the ball handler? I never understood why officials always call out of bounds but none every call the push that caused it?

My question is on the first play why are they still playing with the net messed up? But yes good call jump ball.

    Play 1 I have a hold on Black #13

Play three, yes, the trail should've called it. It was outside her responsibility.... but there was nothing *within* her responsibilty. Trail was looking down. May have missed it, but there didn't seem to be much going on. Of course, assuming the trail *did* have that clear view.
Honestly, if you're looking at it, and recognize the foul, and see your collegues do nothing, you shouldn't do nothing. They make mistakes too, and you as a team are responsible. So you should take that responsibilty. It's something part of your pregame -- how bad is it if I call your foul? How do we handle it? Do we make a late call?

Play 5. Is the shooter down and no longer a airborne shooter before fouling black? Wouldn’t that wipe the 3 off?

    • @greggbecker100
      @greggbecker100 8 месяцев назад

no, once shooter has one foot back on the floor, they are no longer a shooter, would be "after the shot"

@@greggbecker100 Interesting. Fiba requires two feet down.

I don't know the rules.... In FIBA, once a ball is out of the hands, the score counts, even if that player then mauls a defender, whether he has his feet on the ground, or not (imagine jumping up, tossing the ball up, and then hacking your elbows in the defender on your way down before you land: Score counts, player disqualified, two free throws and possession for the defense)
That is to say, it could be poised on the ball being airborne.

@@cptfwiffo in Nfhs if shooter makes illegal contact while airborne even after the ball is out of the hands he is still in the act of shooting. Player control foul would be called and negate the shot

  • @cptfwiffo

I disagree on the last call. You can argue a pull down, but that was only because of the unnecessary contact by black. That contact, by itself, could've been seen as unsportsmanlike (sorry, Fiba ref here). So either you'd end up with two intentional fouls. I like the call giving a personal foul on black, signifying that *he* initiated the contact, and not discussing the pull. Was the pull excessive? a little. Was the contact warranted? Well, because black 'boxed out', white grabbed him to maintain balance.
Depending on the game not pushing intentionals may be fine.

    • @WillieP-1776

      I don't see black's box-out as being excessive. White's reaction was.
