Thanks Joe ,I'm 51 years just learnig at Alameda College basic electro electronic class and you expire me to continue. The way you teach is better than the school for sure .
Thank you for all of the videos that you create. I can’t imagine the amount of personal time devoted to producing just one. My interest in automotive electronics is new and was ignited by you and Dan.
Thank you so much for the compliment it takes me about 2 hours just to analyze and put measurements on a schematic it's a long process but I know there are students out there who are gaining confidence from the way they are analyzing circuits and that's what it's all about to be thank you for the comments
I Have been watching You Tube from long time and I know other channels like diagnose Dan or Scanner Danner, Eric the car guy etc but Joe electronics... is 100% the Best and should Have billions subscribers!!!
Very nice video. Would love to see a video with you explaining how to diagnose a crank, no start situation where the fuel pump only runs when the motor is running.
Folks this man is teaching basic stuff.sure you can back prove pin # 6 but how would joe sniffy dont know shyt about electrical diagnosis.Joe is doing a phenomenal job in teaching the basics on how to approach electrical dianostics.I always work load backwards unless it's hard to get to.my technique Is 12 volts load then load to ground side, 12 volts relay bypass by jumping 30 to 87 , then 12 volts to fuse. Wires last
I'm trying to teach people who are technical and people are just beginners from all the emails that I've been getting some people are having difficulties following diagrams and symbols and components and that's why I have to teach the basics and something's I go to technical schematics if you see my channel Joe electronic schematics from Auto you see how technical like that but I have to balance it
if you look at the comments from the other videos of people there is a common saying they want the basics of schematics and how to understand to follow them these are the comments on other videos on the channel it's not easy trying to teach technical and trying to teach basic at the same time but I don't understand what you're referring to which circuit
thak you. that was a verry good imformation i learn from you. how do we known if the imobilizer system iis faulty because the ECM does not triger the 12 volt signal to the fuel pump relay
Could you tell me why I am not getting prime with the key on? My car starts when I turn the key in the position start but not on the ACC. Thank you, I will appreciated!!!
Your car supposed to be having fuel pressure in the run position the accessories position is just for accessories when you start the car you go to run position build fuel pressure then the start position then back to the run position
The accessories position that the dashboard should come on that's a different problem the question is does your instrument cluster come on in the start position
Good evening Joe and nice to meet you my friend! My vehicle (2003 Dodge Caravan Se V6 3.3) is giving me a (P0201-Injector Circuit/Open Cylinder 1) code and i have a (2003 POWERTRAIN DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES book for town & country, caravan and voyager) that shows on page 88-89 test procedures to follow and apply. So far i have applied (test 1) and (test 2) and im on (test 3) now and im stuck on not being able to follow and apply it cause im not grasping and understanding it at all. This is Test 3 Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Fuel Injector harness connector. Remove the ASD Relay from the IPM. Turn the ignition on. Jumper the Fused B+ circuit and the ASD Relay Output circuit in the IPM. (This part im lost) Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (K342) ASD Relay Output circuit. Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes Go To 4 No Repair the open in the (K342) ASD Relay Output circuit. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER-5. This is a video of me following and applying (test 2-ruclips.net/video/rbzQKyiNwcA/видео.html) and in that video it shows the pages in the book from page 88-89 and pages 312-314 for code (P0201-Injector Circuit/Open Cylinder 1). Are you able to please make a video showing me how to apply (Test 3), (Test 4), (Test 5) and (Test 6) on page 88-89 and the same from page 312-314 (Test 1), (Test 2), (Test 3), (Test 4), (Test 5) and (Test 6) shown in the video?
The first thing for me is I never use a test light that only use a multimeter on the voltage setting it's more accurate number two you want to measure the connector voltage with the load and without the load meaning disconnecting the connector from the fuel injector number three you should get around 12 volts or 14 volts if the alternator is working and number four the voltage might be high or too low or the resistance has changed value from a faulty injector
In conclusion measure the b+ of the connector you're looking for around 12 volts if it is being pulled down disconnect the connector and see if it rises back up meaning you have a faulty fuel injector now the ground comes from the computer which pulse is it from 12 volts to ground that's the most important that's how it turns it on for this I use a multimeter not test lights to catch the pulse try to do these things I'm going to get back to me
Now if you notice all fuel injectors are tied to the same point to get 12 volts so if one is bad they should all get the same voltage they are in parallel meaning the ground is coming from the computer the engine control module likely the ground is bad the module might be bad or the injector might be bad
See that they all are tied together to the same b+ if one is bad at the b+ side they will all have the same voltage only thing you could do is just take out the other connectors and see which one normalizes the voltage even though you will not have a crank
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto If your able to please make a video it would help me out better cause i feel like i learn better watching a video honestly its like hands on learning. If your able to do that i will greatly appreciate it very much and if you cant then i understand my friend.
in my car , which is a ssangyong actyon. there is no actual relay but there is a slot for fuel pump relay and it says * GSL. there is comment on * saying Opional GSL. i dont know what that means. if you can please have any ideas abou tthat.
That's why on my videos when it comes to relays I always say go to measure pin 87 and you should have 12 volts now obviously if you do not have that you have to go to control site to see if you have 12 volts coming into the relay if you do not have 12 volts coming in there you have to trace it back where it's coming from
I have a problem with getting the negative ground on the fuel relay while having two 12 volts on main contact terminal and 12 volts on controlling contact. This problem is on Toyota Mark 2 1 G engine.
Yes they send the grounds so the relay and some that's why it's very important to make sure the computer module works and not always assume the fuel pump it'll turn it on for a few seconds hold pressure and a fuel system
I really would appreciate if someone could take the time out to make a video on how to change the fuel pump for the 2007 Mercedes-Benz c180 kompressor & send me the link please .
That's a good question and the answer is because it is hard to get to the ECM and to get into the connector to back probe that's why I chose first to go to the fuse which is easy access on the computer module ECM remember you can have 200 pins and it might be hard to get to thank you for the question good question
-Well done nice video I have a problem with the seat Ibiza 2005 1.4 I took out the battery to charge it and when I put it back and put the key in the ON position it makes a noise in the dashboard as if a relay opens and closes quickly like a percussion drill and when I turn the starter it turns normally but it does not start. I checked and found the relay that made the noise I attach it (191 906 383c) 167this relay probably supplies the petrol pump and when I disconnect the petrol pump the noise stops and I measure the voltage and it is about 12 volts while it is on the battery.5 volts and when I put a load lamp instead of the pump, the noise in the relay starts to fight and the voltage drops to 3 volts, maybe someone can help to know where the pump relay is supplied from to control its supply. the relay I have opened is clean and works with a separate power supply. when I put a light bulb in the base where Benny the relay in place of the Coil from the relay the light turns on and has a low voltage of 5 volts and when I put it between the relay and the chassis it lights up normally ((thimios1953@gmail.com)) Για σας μπράβο ωραίο βίντεο εγώ εχω ένα πρόβλημα με το seat Ibiza 2005 1.4 έβγαλα την μπαταριά για να την φορτώσω και όταν την ξανατοποθέτησα και έβαλα το κλειδί στην θέση ΟΝ βγάζει έναν θόρυβο μέσα στο ταμπλό σαν να ανοιγοκλείνει κάποιος ρελέ γρήγορα σαν κρουστικό τρυπάνι και όταν γυρίζω την μίζα γυρίζει κανονικά αλλά δεν παίρνει μπρος. Okay so from what I understand you took out the battery to charge it is the engine turning over or trying to turn over is the question of which are two different problems sounds like your start a motor is not engaging the crankshaft that will be problem number one problem two is it is engaging the fuel pump is not being turned on which you should have 12 volts on the control side now problem is the computer might control the fuel pump relay if the computer is not working for blown fuse or broken wire you will not have 12 volts
If you have 12 v at the load side going right to the fuel pump but it drops then obviously the load is pulling it down and that's how you take out the load if you can again several problems trying to understand which problem you are dealing with thanks for watching

What should I be looking for to slove a fuel pump that keeps dieing...I replace the relay..12v at the pump..
Good evening Joe and nice to meet you my friend!

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuel Injector harness connector.
Remove the ASD Relay from the IPM.
Turn the ignition on.
Jumper the Fused B+ circuit and the ASD Relay Output circuit in the IPM. (This part im lost)
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (K342) ASD Relay Output circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes Go To 4
No Repair the open in the (K342) ASD Relay Output circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER-5.

what is a plug? #108 and 110?
ECM send ground to the relay to energize the fuel pump.
Yes they send the grounds so the relay and some that's why it's very important to make sure the computer module works and not always assume the fuel pump it'll turn it on for a few seconds hold pressure and a fuel system
Most of the time it's the grounds given by the computer a virtual ground not a physical ground

worked on one a month ago a pain they are but I didn't get to make video customer wanted car right away thanks for comments
Could you have saved a lot of time by back-probing pin 6 of the ECM?
That's a good question and the answer is because it is hard to get to the ECM and to get into the connector to back probe that's why I chose first to go to the fuse which is easy access on the computer module ECM remember you can have 200 pins and it might be hard to get to thank you for the question good question
