I enjoyed Solo a lot more than Episodes 7, 8, & 9. Ron Howard did a really nice job with this project once he took over.

While it may not have been the best movie I've ever seen I'm still interested enough in the character to see another one. I want to have more adventures in the Millennium Falcon with Han and Chewie.

The movie was okay, but Disney sunk their own ship with the Last Jedi BS and that is why this movie flopped. IF you cant get Star Wars fans to see it. Who the fuck is gonna?
Solo is my favorite Star wars movie.
I don't care what other people think of L3 but I didn't mind her.
But most importantly, the way she was made and how they brought her on film was VERY cool. More of those real life effects please rather than fully cgi creatures :)
Awesome film! Im a huge "Star Wars fan" and love the originals in a special way, the prequels took a while to sink in, really enjoyed The Force Awakens (took a while to sink in too) not a fan of The Last Jedi... but Solo filled a huge gap in my science fiction / fantasy heart!

Rouge One was VERY DULL. The Characters were forgettable and boring. A blind Chinese Jedi wannabe? STUPIDITY!

They should have removed the name origin scene, and added the reassignment scene. The movie would have been *way* better!
Story-wise there could be some question marks, but there is nothing bad to say about the quality of this movie. The sets felt very real, CGI was great, acting was on point.
As a long time Star Wars fan i liked this movie. It is underrated for me. A victim of the legit shitstorm that came with episode 8 imho.

The only thing I absolutely hate about the movie, is that freaking droid. Glad that she dies in the movie. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this was bad at all, I quite enjoy it tbh.
When you stop to really think about it ,all you have to do is edit out her voice altogether and that useless scene of Lando holding her and you wouldn't even remotely miss it or I know it was even there in the first place.
Except she gets put into the falcon..

In the original movie and script the Kessel run was something Han made up to get a better deal from Obi Wan thats why he says parsecs incorrectly. The problem is Disney is looking for a way to make a ride out of everything.
Incorrect. In a New Hope the kessel run was something Han made up to get a better deal. Did you not read the above comment? lol Geezus. And yes it says so in the screenplay.
Even if that's so, which is debatable at best, Disney weren't the ones who took Han at face value and tried to explain how his claim is possible. The official canon before Disney took over was that he was telling the truth and there'd been at least one or two fully fleshed explanations of how it makes sense. Disney is not to blame for making it a thing, you're just being petty.
In the commentary for A New Hope George Lucas says parsecs was correct and it wasn't a mistake. It had something to do with all the planets getting in the way when you go from point A to point B.
This same basic explanation of the black hole and the Run have been used in novels for YEARS.

Generally gravitates towards dark storytelling and grim violence and hates humor, light-hardheartedness and bright colors. Will falsely claim to be a die hard Star Wars fan since childhood and is responsible for the majority of the actions of the "toxic Star Wars fanbase." Does not include genuine fans who have legitimate problems with the storytelling choices in the new films and show.
I'd watch a Solo sequel that learned the lessons from this first attempt. It made me rewatch Empire. So something connected. I had fun with it.
It ends with the pieces set for the kind of stories we could all enjoy. It had Star Wars spirit. It's definitely in-universe. I'll be peering thru that murky as hell cinematography again, some time soon, looking for Han, Chewie and Lando. They ARE in there, somewhere.

They should ´ve left that short scene with the snowball-fight. I like especially that only Harellson speaks the only word in that scene ("Heyyy!"), and that the Wookiee stumbles out of the scene.
That said much more about the later friendship of Han and his companion that the two "Naming-Scenes" ("Solo" & "Chewie"), which i would have cut out, without loosing anything.
I am a big fan of westerns and that's how this movie played out, very much like a western. I think it failed to make money because people were steamed over the Last Jedi and because it came out so soon after the Last Jedi. I think if this movie had come out in December 2018 it would have done better because people would have had time to get past some of the hatred for TLJ. No Star Wars movie is perfect (Empire Strikes Back is close) but this movie had it's own charm to it. I think too many were expecting a huge battle in it but got only a few smaller fights. Of all the newer movies since 2015, Rogue One is the best, this second, TFA third and TLJ dead last, now we will have to see what Episode IX brings up, but this movie was a lot better than it was given credit for.
I grew up with the original Star Wars movies in the 70s and 80s. Saw the TV be soon of Solo,while in the hospital having Covid 19. I thought Ron Howard really did Hans backstory. He should have done the new episodes of StarWars. Not Abrams. JJ did fairly well,but,In my opinion some one else was a better choice. After finding out it was Ron Howard,it made sense,why I thought it was good. Ron grew up with the pulse of the that generation. He also knows how to get the right actors to play for he role of whatever he needs.
I'm so disappointed that this was considered a box-office bomb. I wish there were more one-shot Star Wars movie like Rogue One & Solo. And the best part of Solo? Enfys Nest & the Cloud Riders. She needs her own mini series!
If they made the 3 episodes like they made solo then they would have been great! Solo and rouge one are the best movies Disney has put out and should follow that model

Man the movie was way better then I expected. Tom Hardy played the role perfectly and the comedy didn't feel forced. So cool seeing Venom in his purest form.
The lighting was an issue. There are scenes where you can't see faces or the set pieces. It was too dark.

Bit of a dumb idea to add stuff to the Falcon it should simply have looked cleaner than the original as it had been through less trauma

The cinematography was amazing.
Ron Howard lost his directing touch, the comedy was empty and fell way short.

Honestly, Solo wasn’t that bad of a movie. It wasn’t great by any means but it was definitely miles better than the Last Jedi. The only thing I really disliked about Solo was that damn droid.

It's the same ship, just modified and touched up by Lando. After barely surviving the Kessel Run, it ends looking much more like it's 'usual' self.

Disney learned the wrong lesson from K-2SO. Yes, he was the best character in Rogue One, but by process of elimination because he was the only one with a personality and charm. We didn't like K-2SO because he had human qualities, but Disney thinks we did, so they made L3-37 talk, walk, sound, move, stand, and behave completely human. What is even the point of having a robot character then? L3-37 tells me whoever is running this show is a N0-0B.
