I’m not a big horror or thriller reader but I came away with some recs! Im especially excited to give Survivor Song a try. I’ve had Justina Ireland on my tbr for some time so 2021 has to be the year I get around to it! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

Showing up a bit late. I still have several on this list I need to read, but my top horror choices for 2020 were (for novels) Survivor Song and The Only Good Indians, and (for novellas) Crossroads and The Worm and His Kings.

Hoping to get to Mexican Gothic, Home Before Dark, & Clown in a Cornfield this year for sure. Most of the others are on my list, too, and I read Survivor Song in 2020! My favorite 2020 horror was The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix!

Mexican Gothic was so good. It was on my best of the year list as well. I really enjoyed Survivor Song as well. I want to read Home Before Dark soon. Great list. I don't know if I have read enough 2020 books to make a list, but I should check and see LOL

Rachel, this is a terrific list. I still need to read Venus in the Blindspot. I can't believe I forgot about that one last year. I also really want to read both The Ghost Tree and Night of the Mannequins. I totally agree about the narrators for Deathless Divide. Amazing performances there. My top 7 are:
    1. Survivor Song
    2. Deathless Divide
    3. The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
    4. Mexican Gothic
    5. Clown in a Cornfield
    6. Home Before Dark
    7. Ring Shout

Two of my favorites were in the background of your video. Malorie was a stunningly well written novel. I liked Bird Box but I LOVED Malorie. And The Living Dead is such an intelligent and beautifully written social commentary novel about people and zombies and humanity in general. Daniel Krauss was exactly the right writer to finish that book. It was superb.

I have been trying to check out more new releases but we always miss some. I actually got Mexican Gothic but never got to read it. The bookworm struggles 😂 Clown in a Cornfield was such a pleasant surprise for me. I was not expecting to have so much fun with a YA Horror.

There were so many good horror novels this year, i don’t even know if I could do a top 10 lol some I loved was Clown in a cornfield, Night of the mannequins, full throttle, The Loop, Ring Shout ,southern vampire book club, The only good Indians, Messy Man and more. I was disappointed by Malorie but it still would make the list somewhere. If I could only choose 1 for my top I would have to say the novella The boy in the Woods by Scott Thomas, it was like a good old 80s slasher(felt like Sleepway Camp meets The Troop) as for the worst and very disappointing it would be Night Train, waste of time.

Help. A novel. Some guy in scotland cuts himself on a druid stone in modern day Scotland? Plague ensues worldwide. Survivors turn into vampires, fairies, sorcerers etc. Novel based in USA. Cannot remember the name for the life of me. Fell asleep to it one night and it was removed the day after. Real published novel, not a creepypasta.
    Thanks!
