I'm an Aussie and that is the only breed of dog I have ever had. They are the most amazing and trusting dog I could ever have around my child. I'm amazed how many people, Americans especially, that love the old bluey 👍
There popularity is growing. I like it and do not like it at the same time. Because people get careless when there is a "market" but I am also glad to see more and more people enjoying ACDs :):):)!!

It’s crazy how having a blue heeler just makes you want to be a better trainer for them. There’s just something special about this breed.

Awesome dog! I've got a 4 month old Australian cattle dog puppy. She's got ball drive, but as soon as I bring out the treats she loses all interest in it and I can't get her to chase it or pick it up again. This makes it hard to teach her to bring things back to me without ending the game. Did you have the same problem with your ACD or have any suggestions?
Use the Ball as the Treat. Food treats work on most dogs but some dogs are more interested in Toy Treats and will do tricks etc just to get toy treats. I hope thats clear. lol
Oh and remember its only 4 months old. lol
I didn't have much problem teaching my Blue Heeler to play ball, but the nipping at the heels of the other Dogs and Mine!! Are still very hard to get done!! My lil guy was a rescue dog and even though he was just a little bit!! He started his training a little bit late
Hi: We have a 13 week old ACD puppy. She has already figured out food puzzles, not to bite humans (most of the time) and tells us when she wants to got out. We find her scarily smart. Our last ACD was trained by her previous owner and we adored her. The puppy is a lot of work, and as we know little about training pups, we'll look for an expert to help.
