Also, IDOL crushed the RUclips record for most viewed video in 24 hours - previously held by Taylor Swift LWYMMD, 2nd Blackpink Ddu-du Ddu-du, 3rd BTS Fake Love. IT GOT OVER 56 MILLION (RUclips is screwy, don't pay attention to the "official" number - they took about 11 million views away, and people have screenshots to prove it)
The reason why they got so much diskikes is:
Other Kpop-Fans were planning on disliking BTS's newest songs because they hate BTS for being better than their favorite K-POP group. (and more popular and sucessful)

The reason that there are so many dislikes is because the people don't understand the music video it's self, the video is about being yourself and not listening to what other people say so BTS added all the things that haters once said to them into this video to show that they don't care because "you can't stop me lov,n my self". 💜💜

Actually, for the dislikes its pretty simple, fans of other groups just did an "A.R.M.Y dislike party" and they were planning it for long, I know they were blonks (cause I've seen them doing it the most which is pretty surprising coz they were also attacked this way last year, oh and of course I'm talking about blonks not blinks lmao) but the others I don't know, the majority of people who dislikes it, didn't even watch the song, cause I were there the second it drop out, I was waiting for it and jaut when it drop out they were already thousands of dislikes and when I get to Twitter, I knew why, haters and antis really don't have a life, I really thought of buying them a brain but I'm afraid they don't know how to use it, they were brainless for so long after all~

I think you’re right about the dislikes coming from the fact that this is slightly different from what they usually do. I think I heard that people thought the video quality sucked, for example, the special effects shark and their 3d animated selves look like they came from 80s or 90s videos games. But I think it was just a stylistic choice artistically. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m a pretty new ARMY but I know about their history and it’s actually very messed up. I also get why they’d be excited about BTS’s music being played as background. There’s a stigma around k music. Society mad looks down on it with most ppl not even realizing it so, when there’s someone who gives them even the slightest recognition, it’s appreciated a lot. What I don’t get is knetz obsession over idols dating. Their reasoning is beyond my comprehension.

This song and mv is actually a huge and bold statement from BTS. They made it to clap back at all the haters and anti-fans who constantly made fun of their clothes, music, style, etc. If you read all the translations you'll see the real meaning behind the song and mv :D
Tristan, the reason the music video is so overblown is because the whole thing, including the lyrics, is an ironic jab at the stereotype of why people don't like kpop: its weird and too crazily overproduced. This is a huge middle finger to haters basically. Not only for that, but BTS is also incorporating lots of traditional Korean clothes, motions, and words into this (people criticize them for "trying to be western"). Even the split second where Jungkook goes to make a cough motion, in ancient Korean this was something done by a noble person when they entered a room and it meant basically "you can stop talking about me, because im here now". It's all ingenius.

In this case a lot of the technique isn't there to make it fit more with the music. For example their legs were bent and their feet were flexed. They also did this jump/slide thing with their standing foot which is really cool. It added a great effect. The foot work in the choreography is very impressive. Watching the dance I can also tell how much effort was put into each move. The dance was very nice to look at.

hmm, something i noticed is that for me at least it's getting a bit hard to distinguish their individual voices, maybe because they sing at the same time in many ocasions, but it almost sounds like a bit too much autotune, in the earlier days I think there were less effects in their voices and I liked it a bit better then but this song is still good but doesn't beat Blood Sweat and Tears for me for example

Nick well, I’m being honest here, they rarely use effects on their voices if it isn’t for a purpose. I personally can distinguish their voices in any song, even if it were new because I know their voices like the back of my hand, whether it is auto tuned or not.
I think maybe it’s because their voices have matured a lot overtime and they have dropped some bad vocal techniques like Taehyung always growling or yelling a lot.
