U guys got mad skillz! Too bad that track closed down. Wish there was more known about hobby grade RCs. More people could get in, better things for us all. COol video
@rogermorsee You don't need any special surface, just needs to be smooth-ish and not too many rocks/stones. Concrete, asphalt etc works fine. The main difference is the tyres, we mainly use Tamiya Super Drift Tech. These are plastic type tyre. And most people use 4WD touring car chassis. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, then you can try a counter-steer chassis for an extra challenge. GL!
For me, This is way cooler than slot cars... but I respect the awesomeness of slot cars too... my opinion... amazing.. I wish there are competitions like this in our country... amazing
I wish i had tht track in my shed .some mean drift skills !!!! will have to find these comps and see one live that would be mint! maybe bust out my df03ra brushless.
@sshhrroooomm AFAIK they are 4wd battery powered. The track looks like it has a really slick surface, so I'm not sure what they are using for tires here, but on concrete or asphalt, they use SUPER HARD tires (pretty much plastic instead of rubber) and have also read that some people cut and shape there own tires using plastic ABS pipe used for plumbing.
Those cars must have slick tires on them to drift like that. I had that big r/c General Lee car that they came out with a few years back & it would drift a little, but if it had slicker tires on it, it'd drifted more so. These r/c cars remind me of driving the go carts on the slick track down at Myrtle Beach before the Grand Prix go cart track closed down for good. :(
No walking on track at all times? Not even when you recover a car when it runs dead of battery or it flips? By the way, could you tell me what size of car the track is designed for and if you can bring your own RC?
Really cool way to waste a weekend or 10,000. OK so is it winner gets free drinks, or a cash incentive. How do these drift cars work, are they foam low friction wheels and what is the surface, wood with a non-stick paint or something? I'm guessing that they are electric as I saw no fumes. Especially as it's an inside sport. But mainly for better control one would guess. Looks really fun. I hope someone in Tassy makes a track like this.
For everyone that keeps asking where to get these and what kinda cars they are, you can buy them at your local hobby store they are simply awd touring rc cars, you just replace the tires with rc drift tires and your ready to go and as far as specific cars like bmws or nissians you buy the body you want after you buy the car Ps check Craigslist/eBay for good deals
Well I'll be. This is the first time I have seen this. This is bad bones. The cars are rather large! I had slot cars in the early 70's but nothing Iike this. This is so cool, I like the slower speed, that makes this a very precise game of skill. We always wished for or knew one day they would make slotless tracks and here it is. Now that raises the question, How? Everything has to be in the car? I'm guessing, Nothing in the track? To get this kind of movement, is there a large ball or bearing mounted in the center of the car so the wheels dont have much contact with a well waxed slick track? How does this work? Somebody please tell me or I'm not going to sleep tonight trying to figure this out, Thank you.
There are clipping points all the way around the track, marked by those dangly things. When you lead you try to hit them all, when you chase you stay as close as possible without passing. There's a judge. And anyone spins, they lose.
That was cool. There's something curiously relaxing about watching those little cars slide around, especially with the choice of music.

I'm not a drifting fan, but this is the best RC car vid on RUclips. Awesome track. Great videography. And even the music is perfect.

I really like the idea of the apex "curtain", I'm guessing its a point system?
@HICKSTAR88 thx man and i might get my car fairly soon. but what is the best rc drift car for roughly around $100-$200?

right out of a dream.
How well do these drive off the track? Like would it work well on good roads, or will it be a waste of money without a local track?

i hav one question. im getting a rc drift car fairly soon. should i start out with a d-box since im a beginner then take it out or leave it in?
No walking on track at all times? Not even when you recover a car when it runs dead of battery or it flips? By the way, could you tell me what size of car the track is designed for and if you can bring your own RC?

can someone explain to me how easy or hard it is to drift the kinda rc cars please
So cool man!
dude...ok..are these nitro or battery powered, and do they have a braking function to whip them into a drift?
Nice Song. What version of Old Dirtys Shimmy Ya is it?
Finally. drifting where I dont have to break the bank!
THAT IT THE STRANGEST MUSIC I HAVE EVER LISTEND TO
nice RC vid :3 but is that track build by u or its a .... a ... nvm
Is the track made slippery, or can those cars do that on regular pavement?
For everyone that keeps asking where to get these and what kinda cars they are, you can buy them at your local hobby store they are simply awd touring rc cars, you just replace the tires with rc drift tires and your ready to go and as far as specific cars like bmws or nissians you buy the body you want after you buy the car
Ps check Craigslist/eBay for good deals
Are they using 4 hard rubber or plastic tires while drifting?
The black car, white car, and red car was dominating
the guy in the orange hot rod looking car is beast
@mechooboi No specific floor, just need drift tyres.
Is this your homemade track or is it just at a hobbyshop or something
@sudzbuddie Why do you need to hear the cars? It's not like they have turbos, exhaust, or a combustion motor anyways lol
What material did you use to make the overpass?
What material of floor would I use to recreate this the on ramp 🙏🏼
Nice mix man.
@Cylence01 Do you mean sad as in bad/crappy? Or sad as in sad vibe?
this is pretty sweet, but it'd be alot cooler if you could get those little tires smoking around the track. lol
Love the downhill corner
Great vid and nice track. =)
this is awesome!!
dose anyone know what the best surface is for drifting.

Awesome circuit!!
Only AWD hu? Looks like a fun thing to put in a garage since i've out grown the MiniRamp.
use the mini ramp for it
what's with the slalome type gates???
There are clipping points all the way around the track, marked by those dangly things. When you lead you try to hit them all, when you chase you stay as close as possible without passing. There's a judge. And anyone spins, they lose.
whats the name of the beat with the odb sample?
Do you need to replace tires regularly?
