This is exactly what I was looking for. Definitely not a guide for beginners, but for people who already know how twisty puzzles work and want their fto solved.
The problem is you're not saying what moves you are making while naking them and on top of that there are jump cuts in the middle of turns. 😂 how do you expect anyone to follow along great vid bud
Definitely is quickest, but difficult to understand, especially the last two centers (orange and grey) and then last triple. I think it’d help if there was some sort of notation on screen so I could pause and follow it
To insert your last bottom triple, you should just do Uw moves to move it to the correct spot to insert, rather than doing sledges/backsledges to move it around
I like the video. It's similar to Ben's and to Chris's but focusses on what's important, what to do, and not what not to do. But I do wish you had written down the most important algorithms used to help viewers remember how you did various tasks. It's still hard for me to internalise these tasks, e.g., reversing the orientation of a centre, completing the third and fourth centres.
9:42 Yep, I got the same thing on my FTO 9:50 After doing the algorithm, yep I got it 9:54 I connected them, so that worked too But wait, what steps have u cut from the video?????????? I'm only going in circles here, I will never get these 25 minutes back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice video man, been meaning to do a tutorial for this puzzle myself. A few pointers though, when showing the last white corner you were doing many unnecessary flips, firstly when flipping to get red on the bottom for the corner piece, if you did a U' first the red triangle would have flipped with the white corner, then a simple U would made the triple. Secondly once the final white triple is made if it isn't oriented to go in properly you can do a D or D' to line the bottom layer up without flipping corner and then restore with a D or D' after you've inserted it. Thirdly the last 3 corners it's quicker and easier to learn 2 quick algorithms, one does a clockwise rotation of thecorners, while the second does a counter clockwise rotation.
Thanks for the video! Shoutout to Ben Streeter (BenPuzzles) for inventing this method, although his does differ slightly: you put the first centre on the BL face and build your first 2 triples with R, Rw and U moves He also has two a perms for the corners, instead of using comms, but that matters more if you're speedsolving. Cheers!
Thank you for making this video its so much faster and easier to go throught then the older ones from ben puzzles. I always struggled to solve it with that one but with this j can now solve it!
I'm close to finish on this. Just wanna chime in that this tutorial is more suitable for those who can solve 3x3 easily and knows 4x4 Yau very well. I don't think this works for those who has no speedsolving experience.
At about 11:00, when Blue & Purple triples are in the correct positions, you incorrectly say do a Sledgehammer then another, but you show that you do a Hedgeslammer then a Sledgehammer. (I think.). (Stupid names!)
Brother u needa dumb this explanation down to your lower bretherens because i could not understand a single thing u said. Just like this and just like that is not a good enough explanation cuz our cases aint the same. I need a 3rd grader explanation for this dawg.
bro this tutorial freaking sucks. he's way too fast, and doesn't actually explain what he's doing besides saying "like this" I am an experienced cuber, and I have used his your tutorials before, but this one is horrible.
Will FTO be added as the next official WCA event?
Yes
Yes!!!
Do you think 2x2x3 has a chance to be an event?
@@pengusplayz5756 prolly not
i hope so

Correct
The problem is you're not saying what moves you are making while naking them and on top of that there are jump cuts in the middle of turns. 😂 how do you expect anyone to follow along great vid bud
I have had an FTO for years, glad its making a come back

Or D/D' moves, same thing, but I prefer the ergonomics better
@@EddtheRexMan Sure yeah. I think Uw is easier for beginners to visualise though

Why did you edit out a few seconds at about 11:52? I’m trying to see what you did.

Same it looks cool
You should it’s great
It’s a really fun interesting solve
YES!
Me too

I just got this one! I’m waiting on it to come now, so excited for a new WCA puzzle
Amazing video, but it would be the greater FTO video out there if you could add notions for the moves!
Was waiting for this!
Wayyyy to fast, I can’t really understand most of it.
if you are a cuber before, its easier to understand
@ nah I’ve been cubing for 3 years
Skill issue
I agree, he is literally just saying do this and do that then goes on. I need notation my man.
I have to agree. Part of the reason why I stopped watching J Perm. It's just pointing indiscriminately and saying do this.
What a strange combination of other puzzles methods, it’s like a 3x3 4x4 pyraminx and Skewb all in one
It is a bit of a combo in ways yeah
Thanks! It’s not just quick, it’s also very easy to understand and follow along! I recently joined the FTO craze and it‘s a fun ride. #FTOforWCA
Same!
Surely it will be in the WCA soon
i see u everywhere
10:30 Finally! I've been trying to find a way to solve that for weeks!

Thanks for the info! I tried to make this as beginner friendly as possible and what I found the easiest to visualize when learning myself :)
Agreed
FTO solved for the first time! Thank you!
Very good tutorial. I must admit :)
I had to watch this 7 times so I can understand
Surely it will be an official event soon
I really want it to be so I can get NR
I really want one now! It looks so simple
Great tutorial, thank you! I managed to get this working in only a few hours
Glad it helped!
I hope it gets added to the WCA but probably won’t be soon
How am I supposed to solve the last two triples in the last layer I keep on trying but I always need to just swap two centers, and I don't know how?
Someone knows what to do at 9:53 he literaly cuts to a different toplayer💀
Wow! Looks interesting
Fun fact: you can (technically) do sledgehammers on these to get some weird vertex orientations.
The making of the triples were poorly explained
HELL YEAH you actually did the tutorial
Of course 😉 hope it can help
Thank you for making this video its so much faster and easier to go throught then the older ones from ben puzzles. I always struggled to solve it with that one but with this j can now solve it!
Glad it helped!
Oh this is going to blow up just like your Pyraminx tutorial.
I just got the Diansheng one too
To leave it clear, I discovered alone how to solve the fto using a corners first method, but I'm watching this to learn a not-horrible method.
Great tutorial as always
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video as always
Appreciate that
School stands for seven cruel hours of our lives
This video is NOT for beginners, its way too confusing
Love this concept
Love it! quick and simple. No messing around
Glad you like it!

Great tutorial, I just got one and it helped me the whole way!
Great to hear!
Looks like a Pyraminx
A bit on the side
I’ll start learning it hahaha
Great tutorial!
Thank you!
I hope one day to get one!
Looks fun to solve
I understood what the hedge hammer does but the last pairing step doesn't make any sence for me
FTO Stands for Face turning octahedron
Love the diagrams
I don't understand why I always have two inverted triangles, could you help me?
In which part of
wtf do i do if the last white corner is not in the top?

Oh oops my bad, good pick up!
I can’t solve the last triple as my case is different to all of the ones you showed, need help😭
This tutorial is way too fast even on slow motion😢
Wow ok now I need to try
Is this in competition?
Not yet…
Fto is the next square 1
Nice
For all those who think that this is a beginners method, it is the Bencisco method, AKA the best method to learn.

The tutorial is meant for ppl who are confidentttttt f2l solvers on 3x3

"the last one will always be permutated correctly if these 2 are"... nope, it sure isn't.
Check the other ones
@@NobleCubes I'm a dumbass, I had 2 centers swapped. it's solved now.
Great thanks

You skipped over many cases and now I have no clue on what's going on this really did not help me at all
this video is not very informative, you didnt cover cases that aren't obvious or intuitive on how to solve it. thumbs down
