Products in the supermarket are much more expensive than in other European countries. We pay more for olive oil than they do in England! Plus, we work more hours for less money. As a person who visited sweden right after greece, I'll admit, the greeks have a functioning bar/party scene, at least compared to what I could see in Stockholm. But, sweden has a biking culture compared to the scooters in greece, so there's that.
