You should be proud of the Chinese scientists and engineers. That beautiful Xian Y 20 has engines made with Soviet technology. The Chinese are designing and making newer all Chinese engines - I think there are one or two Xian Y20 which has the newer engines.
We Chinese just have to now make our own high end semi conductor chips and then the US cannot bully us anymore.

The US FAA will try it's hardest in not certifying Chinese airliners like the COMAC C919. Boeing is really the last large ticket item purchases for US exports left !

The plane started moving @ 03:04 and @ 03:24 all of its wheel left contact with the runway. I wonder what that distance was. Definitely short take off. 👍🏻

So this video shoed the old D-30 engines? What engines are they using now? Why didn't they replace the old D-30 engines with the newer(and I assume better) domestic engines? Or does the plane itself(hull/wings etc) need to be modified in order to support the better, newer, domestic engines?
Either way, thanks for taking the time and effort to make and upload the video bro. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the video of the newer version Y20. I want to see aerial refuelling variant(Y20-U or YY-20 iirc) in a video with J-20 J-16, J-11, J-10 getting refueled, or I want to see thousands of paratroopers jumping out with full equipment, along with air drops of light and maybe medium size tanks, artillery, IFV, and precision air drops of crates or pallets of supplies which will be crucial for keeping paratroopers who are behind enemy lines sufficiently supplied. Like any possible Taiwan scenario.
China should practice precision air dropping crates and pallets onto their artificial islands in SCS, along with also using palletised munitions, like dumb bombs, US military itself is experimenting with palletised munitions, china cannot fall behind USA in any revolutionary logistic or game changing war developments.
Finally, like you said, these need to be built in way higher numbers, like in the 100s. I guess China doesn't need that many so quickly, and the longer China takes, the better engines and better plane china will be able Ro mass in the end, so there's no rush I guess. These are a "light heavy lift" plane, with "only" 60ish ton carry capacity, while USA and Russia have planes that have carrying capacity of over 100 tons. Iirc, USA has 130 ton capability, while russia has 160 ton capacity behemoth!
I think maybe china is waiting for their tech to mature, especially the engine and materials tech, and when they have 100 ton+ capacity, that is when China will start massing them for real.
China simply has no real need for that many right now since China doesn't have any far flung war it needs to fight or transport to in massive numbers in the shortest time possible, unlike USA or Russia etc. china also has extensive high speed rail network domestically, so it's easy to transport large amounts of personnel via train, and for anything more urgent, they can use the Y20 I guess, like fir disaster relief, including to other countries, like the most recent example when China sent some expert earthquake rescue crews to Turkiye to help save as many Turks as possible after their recent devastating earthquakes.
Also, china used like 6 Y20s to transport anti air SAM systems to Serbia a few months ago. Serbia received their order of Fk3 system or HQ-22 export version iirc. They landed in Belgrade, Serbia, which was the first time to land in an EU country. Eu as in culturally and geographically, not the political group eu. Anyway, thanks again, it is rare to see anyone in the west be knowledgable about China and not be outright biased and only be capable of straight up hating and bashing on China about off topic irrelevant crap and/or even downright untrue lies and propaganda, like uyghur genocide this, authoritarian dictatorship that, biggest threat this, can only copy that, etc etc.
It's a breath of fresh air to see someone not be biased about China politically and be able to appreciate the various high tech stuff that comes out of China. Because yeah, its just gonna keep getting better and better since China has already caught up in everything that was critical, and now China is moving onto R&D to innovate and compete with the worlds best now. Like Huawei 5g, DJI drones, Chinese space program with drone on Mars and far side of the moon, their own personal space station funded, built and operated purely by themselves, their massive FAST radio telescope which is the biggest in the world, their high speed rail network, their massive tunnel boring machines, their world class AI and supercomputers, their deep sea submersible which can go to bottom of Mariana Trench, their quantum satellites and networks which are by unhackable, their artificial sun fusion generators, their latest third carrier with EMALS launcher which USA still hasn't gotten working properly on the ford class carriers.
In many technologies, including ones critical for the future of humanity, China has already overtaken USA and the world. Recent study showed that in 44 if the most important technologies like AI, 5/6g etc, china already had a lead so far ahead that it basically means China has a monopoly on it in the near future.
Anyway sorry for the long off topic rant. I'll shut up now. Thanks again for the video, hah.

Great looking airlifter, nice video thank you! Is its design inspired by IL-76? The wing, wing box, engine installation and fuselage aft of the cockpit look very IL-76. They should fit newgen turbofans and some blended winglets to the next version!
