I was an exchange student back in the early 90's studying at Glasgow Polytechnic (I understand it's a full University now). Didn't have the first bloody clue what I was getting myself into but, regardless of what genetic disposition I have, I came home a Scotsman. Even went out and bought a Kilt (Black Stewart) for formal occasions after returning home. Whenever I found a street musician in a park, I'd park my hind-parts there and use their music to study to. When they (or I) were done, I always made sure to throw a few Quid in their collection "box". There was a pub on Sauchiehall street near Queen's Street Station that I wish I could remember the name of but I can't for the life of me that I spent loads of time at watching SPL on the Tele on weekends. Even took in an Old Firm match at Ibrox. Watching videos of this band brings back so many memories of that wonderful place that I always considered a second home, even though I've not been there for many years. Nearing 50, going back is one of the few things I have on my bucket list. To Full Metal Haggis, thank you for the wonderful video and bringing back so many memories.
Absolutely banging! Love the guys, the SFA and SRU should sign them to play before every game at Hampden and Murrayfield - the opposition would be keeching in their shorts before they even got on the pitch!

Good acoustics at that spot for some reason. Lots of good, deep bass rumbling to pump up the vibe and the highs from the snare & conga were also fully present. Dual bagpipers is something really special, so the melody was strong and interwoven with the rhythms really well. I also wonder what captured the audio track because it was darn good! My Celtic groove is on the march...
Hi, yes they chose that spot for good reasons, one of which being 3 and 4 storey buildings on each side of the pedestrianised street which do help to contain and echo the sound. Buchanan Street in Glasgow is a favourite place for street musicians for good reason. The video was recorded on my old Sony Xperia phone.

Brilliant stuff though the great drummer who is a bit short of hair on top gives me terrible flashbacks of when my dad used to get angry when I was a small kid. At around that time he was a creative comber with a fly over covering the full dome but when we had been naughty and he would get angry he would shake his head in rage revealing something of the appearance of the dude here. I’m not going to sleep tonight but thanks anyway the music is great.

As a patriotic Scot, this band is dear to my heart! And those passerby seem to be pointedly IGNORING them. Probably from the rich wanker areas where they all vote for the English Tories. The poor Glaswegians can't afford to shop in the toon. I've noticed how Clanadonia pull in the big crowds when they play their stuff in GERMANY, where they're more appreciative!
