その和訳でも大丈夫ですよ。意味も同じだと思います。 その英語は「whyの質問」なので「なぜ」で訳すのが１番元の英語に違いのではないでしょうか？ I used lots of different Japanese to describe the feeling of "would", like 「この私が？」「いったい」「わけ」etc... 「would」のニュアンスを「いったい」「〜わけ？」などといろんな日本語で説明したいのは、その日本語を思いついたときに「would」に連想できるようになるためです。

ただ、動画を離れると、wouldの使いどころが苦手です。仮定法なのか、どう訳したらいいのか、直ぐに判断できません。文法理解が浅いのだと思います。
情けないですが、もっと読んだり聞いたり作成したりして勉強します。
ま、逆に「文法」にこだわらずに、今回はwouldの例文で感覚を掴むようにしましょう^^

doとwouldで正反対の意味みたいになるんですね。
時制の基礎だから説明されれば頭でわかるけど、全く身についておらず、
応用が利かないってのを思い知らされる。
