I have a 2007 Honda VFR 800 and I love mine! When I bought it she needed new rubber so I took the time to figure out if she could do burnouts and my question was answered with a big definite HELL YEAH!!
The only problems with these bikes is the VTech should be programmed to open much earlier in the rev range. I had one like this (same year, color), and it was a bit annoying that it really didn't come alive until you were really getting on it. Those extra ponies could have been used in mid range also. I ultimately have found i like my Suzuki SV650 better.
I have one. I thought my Vtec kicked in at 6400. Pretty sure about it. Is there some difference between metric and US? I bought mine new in 2008 and I never get tired of riding it. It's always a great time.
The bike has been dropped on the LHS. Those are characteristics little bits of damage. How do I know? Because my bike has exactly the same marks after I dropped it! Still an awesome bike though.
@@tonyengland9744 you can pick up a gold wing one person if done correctly. Keep your back to the bike, squat then lift using your legs. I’ve scene 120# girls pick up full wings like that before. If you face the bike and try to pick up, that don’t work too well and can throw the lower back out.
@@richardstoffel6585 it's one thing seeing it done in a training course, it's quite another to do it after getting twatted on the floor and trying to pick it up, fully laden, whilst blocking a road and being honked at. I've dropped my previous bike before the vfr an xj600 that felt like half the weight the vfr is, I still needed a bystander to help me sort my shit out.
@@nancyblanchard9175 vtec on the ‘07 VFR 800 turns on at 6,400. Pre 2006 it came on at a higher rpm, but in 06 they changed. To come on lower so it wasn’t a big jump. It’s to help low end torque and fuel mileage running only 2 valves / cylinder when open it runs all 4 valves. It works a little different than vtec on the Honda cars

Its vtec after 7000 rpm
@ukfan4sure1 around 7000 rpm. I think your talking about the s2000 and it was for more driveability without revving as high
