I suppose, it would be easier and safer to firstly cut the (old) battery foil package, take the battery away, and then warm up and remove the foil residues from the mediapad cover, without warming the battery which may be unsafe... Wouldn't it?

It's dangerous to cut the battery open!
@@natsterjam i proposed to cut off the thin outer foil only, not the inner shell which is more thick and rigid
