Sir I am in a college now, but my teacher is not getting agree on the idea that there are atoms in depletion layer.......they are talking about some immobile charges in the depletion layer....what does that mean?

Absence of one electron in Aluminium atom creates a hole(which is totally conceptual) ok question is, now there is one electron of silicon and one hole of Al, so 1 electron, 1 hole, how can in p type more no of hole is present than electeon, it is supposed to be same no of electron,and hole please explain
Bro....the negative charge of the electrons is balanced by an equivalent positive charge in the center of the impurity atoms. Therefore, the net electrical charge of the semiconductor material is not changed and thus zero.
