I've heard most people say that Pearl or Garnet is their favorite. (That I've seen.) But, while I like them all, Amethyst is my personal favorite. She's funny most of the time, but is capable of taking some things seriously. And she has a surprisingly heart-wrenching backstory.
that's strange to me because I find that most people don't like or are annoyed by Pearl. AND THAT EVERYONE LOVES GARNET. And then no one really cares about amethyst.
The only way they can advertise that crap is to forcefully shove it in people's faces. It's an like an ugly, dying animal that they're showing to everyone while screaming "LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS!!! IT'S THE CUTEST THING YOU WILL EVER SEE!!!! ISN'T IT SOOOOOO GREAT!?!?!!! PLEASE LOVE IT OR IT WILL DIE!!!"
+Quint Dunway As long as toddler titans go is making more money than Spongebob, that ad and the show is gonna stay. :( Do yourself a favor and go ahead and watch this show.
Well with how unfortunately successful TTG is, you might be waiting a while, don't miss out on this amazing show just cause of CN's horrible advertising strategies, ignore that SU is even attached to CN if you have to.
Current Shows on CN~ Adventure time: B Regular show: B+ Steven Universe: A Gumball: A- Clarence: C+ Uncle Grandpa: C- Teen Titans go: F Honestly, I feel like CN is getting back on its feet. I've honestly been waiting for your feelings on this. This show is my favorite. The plot, music, and characters are great! Pearl, Lapis, and Lars are my favorite.
JackieSpicer What's this? Someone who finally admits to liking Lars?! (he's one of my favorites, too!) I'll admit he can be a jerk at times, but I don't think he deserves all the hate aimed towards him.
Thank you! He does bad things but so does everyone else in his shoes, and he's shown to be a very sad and insecure kid (Island Adventure is the best example of this)
Please do a video on Lars! He's such a great character and NO ONE seems to want to see him as anything other than 'irredeemable douchebag' and as a person who's favorite character is Lars, I feel like while people shouldn't be forced to like him, they should at least know why he's a good character.
Reasons Lars is my favorite character: -Room for character development. -Learns his lesson at the end of his episodes (yes they stay). -Not bad compared to modern teens. -Half of what he does doesn't get across. -He's hilarious occasionally. -Most of the time he's just socially awkward, not a jerk. -NO! OUR SHIP!
lexie jones yeah, he is like a real teenager. He has a desire to become popular, even when it means that he will have to change himself to accomplish it, shown in Lars And The Cool Kids. Because of this, he is definitely going to be mean/jealous to a happy-go-lucky kid like Steven.
lexie jones i find lars likable because you often see his vulnerability, even through the image he's trying to play off. he's not a total jerk, he's just insecure sometimes. i think a lot of us can relate to that.
I watched the Cookie Cat episode when it first came out, and I thought it was stupid and didn't keep woth the show. However, my friend told me it was really good, and after a few episodes, I was completely hooked and binge watched the whole series up to Chille Tid in around a week. Holy crap it gets good!
I expected you to like rick and morty, but it turns out you don't. I would love if you made a video about Rick and Morty though, explaining your thoughts on it
Steven Universe is easily one of the best cartoons currently airing and Rebecca is a bonafide genius. She really knows how to create great stories, characters, songs/music and moments. This show has so much potential that it can last as long as Adventure Time...maybe even longer.
***** Ohh so now I get it. He ain't no pork chop because isn't the greatest father in the world and he isn't perfect. But he sure is a fun one so I guess we can all agree he is a indeed a hot dog.
Because Greg is a character on Steven Universe and steven universe was made by Rebecca Sugar and Rebecca Sugar worked on Adventure Time and Adventure Time was on Clarence and Clarence is hinted to be a pig in the series and hotdogs are made of pigs
there is only one problem, i dont like how the gems look down on humans, they are pretty much =, gems have gem wepons, humans have guns, etc, its the only problem i could find, but it makes me want to hit them when they look down on humans, but becidse that its a very good show
Also, I would love to add the instrumental music in the background of each scene. Each character has their own theme. More scary and powerful characters (fusions like Sugilite and Malachite) have scarier and more pounding music. It really amplifies what is going on. They really get a good theme of the characters. Like the fusion's themes are usually a mix of the participants. Like Opal has upbeat Amethyst themed music where she also has classical piano music that is Pearl themed. Just putting on a random theme will taked your memories there in that episode. And they have names! Especially like putting on "Amalgam" or "Dance of Swords". These also can be used as foreshadowing, as when Rose's moss blooms almost the same background music can be heard at Rose's fountain.
Well, depends. If you wanna talk Cartoon Network then I would say Regular show. (SU comes in third after Adventure time) but on all of TV?! Sorry, but this dosent even come close.
I'm really happy about Greg though. Like, only a few of you, who have been through what I have and thought that's what Greg was going to be like could understand how happy I am about Greg being a good dad. At first, I thought Greg was going to be a bad dad, absentee, dead beat, what have you. We don't really get to see much of Greg, except for Cat fingers and some minor appearances in the beginning of the show, and with Cat Fingers, it shows that he tries, but like a lot of bad dads, it could be an out of sight, out of mind relationship. Ocean Gem was the first episode I was really happy, because it showed that Greg cared enough to put his life on the line for Steven, but I was also sort of afraid during house guest until Greg said "I only wanted to live with my Son!" and after that, I think it becomes quite clear that Greg is a very good, just ill equipped dad.
I've seen a lot of your previous reviews, and I am so glad that you are doing Steven Universe. It is easily my favorite show on TV right now. You are very critical where you need to be, and sentimental enough to really go in depth about the feel of the show. You seem like you'll be perfect in really review these episodes and theme the show has, and I cannot wait for more episodes on SU. PS Not sure if you've done any yet, but I'd love for some Gravity Falls and/or Star vs. the Forces of Evil (one of these is not like the other). But SU first :P thanks PIEGUYRULZ!
It really speaks volumes for how good the characters are when everyone has a different favorite. Just one more thing to love about this show! ...And I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a massive fan of Greg. :D I'm surprised that nobody has done individual episode reviews of the show yet, considering how popular it is. Might be another nice future project... ;O Er, at one's leisure of course.
trevor simmons That's the best news I've heard all day! Thanks so much! :D Their ridiculous energy is pretty fun to watch, too. I'll be following that for sure! But, uh, PIEGUYRULZ... Whenever you want to, feel free to, uh... *cough cough* I said nothing!
PHCDE I can't find Skullduggery (unless you're talking about Skullduggery Channel, which has nothing of the sort and is in a different language), and the rest of them only seem to have ten of the later episodes or so. I'd really prefer to see somebody go through the whole series, if possible... and it looks like Channel Awesome is more or less doing that! :O
I am glad to see that someone truly knows this shows pros and cons. I personally believe this is one of the best shows ever created (as it is the only show that has sucked me so deep into its story and characters).
I also love Steven's dad! I think my favorite character is either sadie or connie though. My favorite gem is lapis lazuli, and my favorite crystal gem is garnet. Not enough large villains to have a favorite there, though.
Have you seen the extended intro? It's so fantastic! It's nice seeing that Greg actually raised Steven until he was young enough to live with the gems (really, imagining them with a child is a little terrifying) and that Steven got to spend that time with his Dad. Not to mention, a crew member said that Greg literally pays for everything Steven has. Their food, his clothes, his television and games, it all comes from Greg. The extended intro shows that he even built their house! It's just nice to see how much he has done for his son, particularly when people refer to him as a "deadbeat dad" and the like.
Also- to listen to music over and over again, find a steven universe song (or any other song) that you like on youtube, and replace "youtube" with "listenonrepeat" brings you to a website that repeats the video over and over again. (Something i noticed is that garnets song is on the top ten list of songs most repeated on the website. Probably my fault hah)
Dude I like Stronger Than You from the Jail Break episode. Also it reveals the kind of person Garnet is and at least on of the most biggest spoilers, mysteries and questions in the series. The biggest spoiler that was revealed was Garnet being a fusion gem which explains her having two gems. It also explains the two other gems after all them defused from Alexandrite. Well that's all I wanted too say. Sorry for the spoiler in this comment guys also just post positive comments. DO NOT HATE ON ME OR ATTACK ME FOR THIS. Peace out guys.
Great video man, and as a SU fan, this was a really good and welcoming way to bring skeptics who still are a bit unsure if Steven Universe is a worthwhile show to watch it and be amazing by it. 5 stars!!
12:29-13:08 As an aspiring cartoonist and writer myself, I'd like to thank the creator of _Steven Universe_ for that inspirational advice, and you, Pie Guy, for passing it on to your fan base. I think anyone who's willing to make a show one day ought to check you out. (Also, someone REALLY needs to let Mr Enter know that, if he wants to make that _Growing Around_ show he's been going on about.) And once again, this is why I love you, Pie Guy (as a fan, mind you); because unlike Enter, you seem to hold a positive attitude towards your fans and what you're reviewing, and even when you review something you hate, you calmly and maturely explain why it's so bad. I don't hate Mr Enter, and I still watch his reviews for entertainment, but his anger problems and attitude towards critics are a bit off-putting for me, and he sets his standards way too high for my taste. (And unlike the Nostalgia Critic, Enter's fury seems legit.) Plus, much like Anita Sarkeesian, he blocks people who don't agree with him. But you seem like a nice guy, always respectful of other people's opinions, willing to accept criticism, and generally displaying a positive demeanour.
Rebeca is a fan of one piece. I'm like now she's one of my favorite animators. Though one piece and Steven Universe both do have a few things in common. Like they both have, this lay back tone, how they both build up important events for later arcs, and knows when to be funny and serious.
Alot of CN Shows in the 2010's so far Ranked any questions Adventure Time B+ Clarence C Gumball A- We Bare Bears A- Steven Universe A+ Total Drama (1&3) A+, (2&5) B+, 4 C Ridonculous Race B+ Looney Tunes Show A Teen Titans Go F Johnny Test D-
no. we bare bears is not better than regular show, nor total drama, and Steven universe. and adventure time is better than SU TD and WBB as well. I don't understand why people praise SU like it's the second coming of Christ.
This review is ON point. Rebecca Sugar is so wicked awesome and so is the show, and the crew/cast who work on it, it's everything I want int a show, not just a cartoon, and that's why I love it more than anything else I've ever seen. Yeah, I know it isn't perfect, but the show is self aware of that too and embraces it, it doesn't take itself too seriously and knows when to be comical, when to be serious, and when to be both! The characters, even the most alien ones like Garnet, are understandable yet, different and complex in their own special way, including Steven himself, and other side characters. Sure, some of the jokes may fall flat but overall it's well thought out and it somehow manages to keep bringing me in and invested in the plot without ever getting tired of it, even when some of the episodes don't include the main storyline, I still love it for not being something you would expect, and CN's promos and ads could be a lot better, because before I watched a single episode the ads made it look really dumb.
Oh, Steven Universe, probably my second favorite show of all time. Only passed by Gravity Falls, and barely too. By the way, I would seriously recommend checking out Gravity Falls if you haven't already, it's really good.
I first saw "Cheeseburger Backpack" and "Steven and The Stevens" back in late October, and really thought nothing of either of the episodes. I didn't think the little bit of SU I had seen was bad, nor really anything to write home about. It wasn't until late May that I started watching it again, now on a somewhat regular basis. I really enjoyed "Rose's Scabbard," and "Full Disclosure," despite not knowing the back story of either episode. It wasn't until my friend had binged watched it and raved about it to me, and hearing what you had to say about the series a few weeks ago that I finally gave the series a real chance, and watched it in order. I absolutely love Steve Universe. I am so happy that I've gotten into this show, now having seen every episode up to "Friend Ship." I love the Gems and the humans, their flaws, their strengths, and I love Beach City in general. I love the way the show reveals it's story piece by piece; you really feel in a lot of instances that you're learning about the Gems, their history, and the history of the citizens of both Beach City and Homeworld through the eyes of Steven, like you know just as much as he does, and I think that's really neat. It's a terrific series with a great team of writers, and some incredibly talented animators and artists.
Dude, you and I have the exact same experience of Steven Universe! We both were underwhelmed at first due to the ads, but when we checked it out, it was awesome!
Thank you for this review. Im already at the beginning of Season 2. This is one of the most wonderful cartoons I've seen, although it has a bit of a slow start.
I would love to see you maybe do a spoiler version of this and talk about other gems and things but i love this since i can understand the basis. If you like to can you maybe do a spoiler version of this? If you can't it's ok with me,Keep it up PIEGUYRULZ~!
Say, do you ever talk about Dreamworks/Pixar animated films? I'd love to see reviews of stuff like "Inside Out" or some of the other more recent animated films.
I wish I had more than basic knowledge of Adobe Flash AND Adobe Flash program on my computer. As far as I know, I am more of a writer. I write lots of fanfiction and currently I am being praised for taking a unique route on my Danny Phantom-Code: Lyoko crossover "Digitalized Adventures". I was pretty much doing what Steven's dad does: following my own drum. If I ever get into the cartoon industry as a writer, I want to create a world that is beautiful and understanding with elements of wit, charm, and wacky/zany events to provide an escape from reality by feeling like reality in some way. Also, it kinda helps that I want to make it also a show not just for kids, but literally EVERYONE. Sure there will be mature stuff (not Adult Cartoon "maturity", I mean real life maturity such as bullying, disabilities, and illnesses) if it does come into creation, but I am hoping that the wit, charm, and wackiness would cover it up for those who are way too young to understand. I want to push the limits and make a defining mark if Ii ever go into that industry.
Good review! I have heard of it in some Cartoon Network promos but haven't seen the show. I agree with your opinion about Steven Universe. Will you be reviewing SpongeBob: Sponge Out of Water next? I wanna see what you think of it. And one more thing: ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEW SPONGEBOB EPISODE "LOST IN BIKINI BOTTOM"? :)
When I first watched this show back when it first aired, I thought it was alright, but I never got into it, but I checked it again a few months ago, and honesty, I think it's one of the best shows of the 2010s thus far, it's pretty much everything I want from a show, action/adventure, fantasy, drama, well-written and interesting characters, beautiful art style, good music. When I watch a episode, I never know what to expect, this show is unpredictable in a good way and has some really good twists. I just love this show :D
The show does take a few episodes to hook you in at least it did for me, I'm guessing that it's due to how much the show relies on your caring about the characters that when you first start on the show it can leave you a little bit lacking but now going back I enjoy allot of the first episodes that i felt were meh earlier.
This show is PHENOMENAL, one of my favourite shows along with The Angry Beavers and Gravity Falls. You should really check those shows out if you haven't already.
It's a good alright show, I wouldn't say it is fantastic or amazing as people say it. I don't really quite understand how people are obsessed with this cartoon, I mean it is a good show, the creator clearly has passion for her work and I love that, unlike other creators *cough* Teen Titans Go! *cough*. I like it, it is definitely not one of my favorites, not even in my top 20. It is a little too sappy for me but I do like to keep up with it, and after all this is just my opinion.
I'd love to see you review certain episodes or things of that sort! I'm always curious as to what everyone's reactions are to /certain/ parts in the show, you guys know what I'm talking about. >:D
Hey Pieguy, I've been asking people what they think about my list on what I consider to be the top 10 shows that suffered from seasonal rot and I wanted to hear your thoughts. I have two rules; one, they have to have at least five seasons so they could have enough time to build up a lot of credibility and have a decline in quality, and two, all the shows come out of the North American continent since translation errors and cultural gaps make it difficult to give shows from Western Europe and East Asia. My List: 10. The Simpsons 9. Spongebob Squarepants 8. TMNT 1987 series 7. The Fairly Oddparents 6. Doug 5. TMNT 2003 series 4. Rugrats 3. Dexter's Laboratory 2. Teen Titans 1. Family Guy
At first, I didn't really like the show since the promos made me think that it was about some dumb kid with powers that can be controlled by ice cream or something. I NEVER knew that I would fall in love with this show this fast. And I agree with you on its promos, they make the show seem bad 😥
Dude... That last part was so inspiring!... (man, I think I'm getting emotional... no, wait: ok, I'm ok) I mean, I admire Rebecca Sugar so much right now! Thank God for people like her, that are bringing back the glory of the old cartoons we loved to watch!
I have to deeply agree with the thing about Rebecca Sugars age. I am her age so I grew up with pretty much the same things that influenced her, and now am a nerdy adult. For a long time I rarely watched western animated shows and just got back to it in the last 3 or 4 years. It started with a friend going crazy about MLP. But what really got me back into current western cartoons was Gravity Falls. And Gravity Falls led to me watching Steven Universe. Both shows were created by people my age and I think it's awesome. Rebecca Sugar is so good at creating characters that the show allows for a huge spectrum of viewers to relate. Younger viewers can relate to plots that deal with finding oneself, growing up and dealing with all kinds of issues. Personally I find Peridot a relatable character at the moment, because I have to adapt to a new environment, which can be exciting but also scary.
OMG! WHY DIDN'T I SEE THIS BEFORE?! Ok. I'm just speculating. but what if the number of sides they have on their gem is a show of caste? now that wouldn't explain the diamonds, but it could explain how their gem hierarchy stands! it could explain why pearls are the servants, because they have no sides.
when i was bingeing Steven universe a couple of months ago i realized that this is the only show that i have ever binged that didn't loose my interest, i never found myself wanting to skip ahead on cringe worthy scenes because ,well, there weren't any. this show is very VERY well executed. and never made me bored, and i have a low attention span, i think i watched the entire series only stopping for sleep and other necessities for most of that weekend, i have never done that for any type of media except spongebob. (classic)
I wouldn't say that Greg marches to the beat of his own drum, or at least not the Greg we see most of the time (the flashbacks are another story). It seems to me that he's actually trying to match the beat of other people's drums, usually Steven's, and having trouble keeping up- but always trying the best he can. Anyway, yeah, I love everything about Steven and Conny's relationship, and I love that twist about Garnet and how much sense it makes about her character. I like how Steven knows just about everyone in the town and they treat him pretty close to how actual people would treat a kid like that in a small town. Steven is so infectiously upbeat and genuine, and even the cool kids like him for it. Lars on the other hand is kind of the opposite of Steven in some ways, being grumpy and sometimes outright deceitful, not quite fitting in with the cool kids despite how much he borderline idolizes them. In a recent episode when we saw the results of Peridot's deeds, Garnet looked outright horrified, such a strong reaction we very rarely see from her. I hope Cartoon Network stays on this "progressive cartoon" trend. It's making strides with Adventure Time and Steven Universe, though I do miss those DC action cartoons.
I started watching Steven universe after Tommy Oliver made a comparison to Gurren Lagann, the greatest piece of art to ever grace the earth. Thus, I of course had to check out SU. No regrets.
I gave this show a shot last week binged it in 4 days. I feel like I finally found a cartoon I can get into again. For sure my one of my favorite cartoons of all time ez.
SPOİLERS!!!! ı like how they mention rape ( keeping it together) abortion (on the run) gay relationships (garnet overall) and other Real world issues without forcing melodraticy.
I am very glad that you are now reviewing steven universe. I am wondering though, are you going to review adventure time season 7? Like you, I hope the series gets better. Now I know you don't hate adventure time now and you are just stating its flaws from season 6, which I agree to some of them. But adventure time isn't getting so bad like spongebob (which is still a horrendous series and I have no idea how it lives this long). The show had a rough time having pendleton ward and rebecca sugar leave the show, but it hasn't turned completely terrible and there are very good episodes from season 6, even thought it isn't the best season. If anything, the comics show more promise and the events are canon, so you should probably read up on them and hopes to the show becoming as good as steven universe and other great cartoons.
Rebecca Sugar is one of my new heroes now. she love cartoons and video games like me, she was born in Maryland, and she wants to put as much TLC into her work as possible like me. I really love her work and I aspire to be like her when I grow up. :)
I've watched a good amount of episodes from the first season. I don't love it. But I definitely like it. And I could see it being something that grows on me over time
Don't forget each of the three gems represent a different type of relationship, independent, co-dependency , and group depending. Though that was amazing.
Love her message to anyone that wants to write an animated series :) I've been writing a lot on fictionpress and would really like to write some high quality stories. She makes me feel like that's possible ^^
I would go so far as to say Steven Universe has absolutely NO filler episodes, with the exception of Say Uncle, the explicitly non-canon crossover you mentioned.
I feel all those emotions. It truly is an amazing show, with a wide intellect, little cliffhangers all around, deep dark serious stuff and oblivious Steven saving everyone's a**es from depression. Excuse my language.
Steven Universe is more like Teen Titans then the actual Teen Titans spin-off (Teen Titans GO!)
***** Very true.
Isn't Mr.Enter the guy that's really freaking pissed off at Nick and Spongebob?
I'm looking at his stuff right now.
Grim the Veolociraptor Dude you are soo right! I never actually thought about that before.
QuackyJack Yeah. As he PieGuy said, a mix of action and comedy.
Just a heads up that there will likely be spoilers down in the comments. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Can you talk about peridot and lapis in the future?
What website did you use to watch Steven Universe? +PIEGUYRULZ
Jake Epic Productions I Just used youtube
Oh did you find quality videos? Davin Zehmer
***** (Sorry if you already knew this) Steven is voiced by a child actually, not some grown women trying to sound like a little boy.
I've heard most people say that Pearl or Garnet is their favorite. (That I've seen.) But, while I like them all, Amethyst is my personal favorite. She's funny most of the time, but is capable of taking some things seriously. And she has a surprisingly heart-wrenching backstory.
Same, I love her
that's strange to me because I find that most people don't like or are annoyed by Pearl. AND THAT EVERYONE LOVES GARNET. And then no one really cares about amethyst.
***** ruby is the hot one lol
she is my favorite crystal gem but my over all favorite is Lapis Lazuli :3
I'm surprised that I'm the only one who's favorite is steven
it's official, I'm adding Rebecca Sugar to my list of my favorite all time animators :)
ok then show creator/storyboard artist/writer
***** she do know how to draw Though.she doodled parts of episodes on her tumbler lol.
ImprovDude20 Is Faust on that list?
ImprovDude20 Is Faust on that list?
yes she is
TEEN TITANS GO MIGHT NOT GET A NEW SEASON.
HYPE.
Henry Freeman Lets face it, TTG will probably get renewed. Despite the hate it gets, TTG gets far to high ratings to not get renewed.
Robert Santos The truth sucks. :(
Henry Freeman It will, it's making a shitton of money.
Plz
The day CN stops telling me that "Toddler Titans is my new favorite show" is when I will watch this show.
And now they start mocking the people who can't "take a joke oh have a laugh" and mention its SUPA FUCKIN RANDOM SEXY ROLF HUMOR LOLOLOLOLOno
+Quint Dunway
As long as toddler titans go is making more money than Spongebob, that ad and the show is gonna stay. :(
Do yourself a favor and go ahead and watch this show.
Well with how unfortunately successful TTG is, you might be waiting a while, don't miss out on this amazing show just cause of CN's horrible advertising strategies, ignore that SU is even attached to CN if you have to.

I kinda agree but clarence needs at least a B

doggone12ify Didn't that show get cancelled recently? :l
doggone12ify I watched two episodes of Sonic Boom and although it isn't bad it is eh to me.

What does this mean??
Jake Epic Productions sardonyx is a new gem Rebecca revealed is coming to the show.
David maduako Well we know Sardonyx is a gem, that's kinda obvious.
David maduako ohhh thanks
I assumed she was a DBZ fan after I played Attack the Light.
I love that detail....
***** Agreed
Or that one scene in Ocean Gem with Garnet punching her clone over and over.
Sammy Peterson Jasper reminded me of Raditz
You're a shame to the gem race!
***** I really hope so, peridot is my favorite character from this show.
Thank you! He does bad things but so does everyone else in his shoes, and he's shown to be a very sad and insecure kid (Island Adventure is the best example of this)
She's so in tune with being a fangirl that she's actually made slash art for Ed Edd and Eddy. XP
I actually found that online once! I felt so happy knowing that someone whom is so similar to me can find a place in this business.
One of us! One of us!
Please do a video on Lars! He's such a great character and NO ONE seems to want to see him as anything other than 'irredeemable douchebag' and as a person who's favorite character is Lars, I feel like while people shouldn't be forced to like him, they should at least know why he's a good character.
lexie jones Only SU character (besides Onion) I don't like is Lars. You want more of him? Ugh.
***** Lars may be quite a jerk, but at least he isn't Diamond friggin' Tiara type annoying!
You are always entitled to your very own opinion, though.
Reasons Lars is my favorite character:
-Room for character development.
You need to review "Rick & Morty" or "Harvey Beaks" next! *****
Mairead Malesco He said he didn't like Rick & Morty on a twitch stream, I don't know the reason but he doesn't like it.
JSparkysteel I thought he would like it because Dan Harmon is attached to it.
Mairead Malesco Eh, it's not my thing. I might try it again at some point.
***** Will you review Harvey Beaks at some point?
Robert Santos It is the best original programming Nick has had in the longest time.
SPOILERS
Steven Universe is really good. :D
Why is Greg a hot dog?
Because he ain't no porkchop!
***** *walks out of the room*
***** Ohh so now I get it. He ain't no pork chop because isn't the greatest father in the world and he isn't perfect. But he sure is a fun one so I guess we can all agree he is a indeed a hot dog.
I totally didn't think of something else when I read this comment! 😂
You can blame my friends for my twisted mind! x3
This is the BEST SHOW airing right now, cartoon or live-action.
It is the BEST SHOW on TV _period_.
So so true
Not really...
Which one do you think is better?
Well, depends. If you wanna talk Cartoon Network then I would say Regular show. (SU comes in third after Adventure time) but on all of TV?! Sorry, but this dosent even come close.
Trisenpai this is 8 months late, vut i agree with your opinion exactly and this has never happened
My god. Did Rebecca really say that at the end? She's ... What inspires me ... To not sleep and finish my story ... She is an inspiration to me
I've seen a lot of your previous reviews, and I am so glad that you are doing Steven Universe.
I'm surprised that nobody has done individual episode reviews of the show yet, considering how popular it is. Might be another nice future project... ;O Er, at one's leisure of course.
Namadu The Walker brothers who make the Nostalgia Critic are in the process of making vlogs for each individual episode.
trevor simmons That's the best news I've heard all day! Thanks so much! :D
Their ridiculous energy is pretty fun to watch, too. I'll be following that for sure!
But, uh, PIEGUYRULZ... Whenever you want to, feel free to, uh... *cough cough* I said nothing!
Namadu yes there is....stevraybro,skullduggery,Hourglass animation,SkywardWing,etc...
Namadu There doing it one at a time.
Did you just say fore-shattered? Good one
I am glad to see that someone truly knows this shows pros and cons.
I personally believe this is one of the best shows ever created (as it is the only show that has sucked me so deep into its story and characters).
Adventure Time C

That's a spot on report card
Why only C for adventure time? season 7 has been awesome so far.
+Sean S hah, clarence? That show is the bane of my exsistence.
F-----
I also love Steven's dad! I think my favorite character is either sadie or connie though. My favorite gem is lapis lazuli, and my favorite crystal gem is garnet. Not enough large villains to have a favorite there, though.
EMOTIONS IS STEVEN'S ACTUAL NAME!
Wait, Rebecca Sugar loves Sym-Bionic Titan!? That explains how both shows share several similarities.
Excellent review dude, it pretty much sums my thoughts on the show. Can't wait for Steven Bomb 3.
Peace out guys.
we're in season two, season one was split into parts a and b
Great video man, and as a SU fan, this was a really good and welcoming way to bring skeptics who still are a bit unsure if Steven Universe is a worthwhile show to watch it and be amazing by it. 5 stars!!
12:29-13:08 As an aspiring cartoonist and writer myself, I'd like to thank the creator of _Steven Universe_ for that inspirational advice, and you, Pie Guy, for passing it on to your fan base. I think anyone who's willing to make a show one day ought to check you out. (Also, someone REALLY needs to let Mr Enter know that, if he wants to make that _Growing Around_ show he's been going on about.)
And once again, this is why I love you, Pie Guy (as a fan, mind you); because unlike Enter, you seem to hold a positive attitude towards your fans and what you're reviewing, and even when you review something you hate, you calmly and maturely explain why it's so bad.
Steven Universe is one of the greatest cartoons I've seen aired in years, (Cartoon Network). It's definitely a great show.
Cyaned [SarahandAshley] Dude, that’s just your opinion.
I guess you could say this show is... A GEM!!!!!
Hahahahaha....
I'll go now...
Rebeca is a fan of one piece. I'm like now she's one of my favorite animators. Though one piece and Steven Universe both do have a few things in common. Like they both have, this lay back tone, how they both build up important events for later arcs, and knows when to be funny and serious.

we bare bears is not better than regular show, nor total drama, and Steven universe. and adventure time is better than SU TD and WBB as well. I don't understand why people praise SU like it's the second coming of Christ.
What''s sad is, despite all the good series we have now people still proclaim this decade as the "dark times" in animation.
What if somebody who hasn't watched SU before thinks the characters on the show are actually some gems, a hotdog, and some glasses XD
+Silveysoul AJ This video is what got me into the show, I hadn't seen anything about it before and.......... yes... I was very confused...
That needs to be an Adult Swim show…
This review is ON point.
Bill Zypher He likes Gravity Falls about as much as SU
Sammy Peterson Yes! Though I do wonder why he doesn't talk about it much, though it's probably because he doesn't care much about Disney.
Bill Zypher He appearently mentioned it once in a vlog, and has plans to review it some time this summer.
Sammy Peterson And just when I thought this summer wouldn't be more of a hype train...
Bill Zypher Your username cracks me up so much. XD
It's a terrific series with a great team of writers, and some incredibly talented animators and artists.
if garnet is scared, everyone is scared. if garnet is happy, everyone is happy.

I love Steven Universe. Like, it's one of the best shows on TV and one of the best cartoons i've ever seen.
Please make a Review with Spoilers. Especially your opinion to the 2 Stevenbombs would be very interesting.
I would love to see you maybe do a spoiler version of this and talk about other gems and things but i love this since i can understand the basis.
If you like to can you maybe do a spoiler version of this?
If you can't it's ok with me,Keep it up PIEGUYRULZ~!
The show came out on your birthday? That calls for a personal victory pose
i don't share many RUclips videos on Facebook, but this is one that i will share. I'm a new subscriber and i am very much impressed.
Way more excited for Steven bomb 3.0 AND Gravity fallso on the same time, but still excited. :)
He already did review sponge out of water
Alonso Hall Which video did he review it?
Well like he said, its not a show for everyone. You are more than entitled to your opinion
My List:
10. The Simpsons
9. Spongebob Squarepants
8. TMNT 1987 series
7. The Fairly Oddparents
6. Doug
5. TMNT 2003 series
4. Rugrats
3. Dexter's Laboratory
2. Teen Titans
1. Family Guy
Nicely done, Pieguy! Looking forward to any other SU vids you have in store :)
Thank God for people like her, that are bringing back the glory of the old cartoons we loved to watch!
i think this review was amazing and you summed up all the greatness of the show.
(classic)
This show is freaking amazing. I fell in love with it at first sight!
"Love at first sight doesn't exist" ~ Garnet
Sorry, I had to.
lol What about "at first episode?"
I know realize that PieGuy is barely older than me.
Welp, time to stop being a consumer and try to be a creator. TY PieGuy.

No regrets.
9:46 yeah, in laser light cannon, when pearl says "where were you?" her face looks way too small, and off. :P
I gave this show a shot last week binged it in 4 days. I feel like I finally found a cartoon I can get into again. For sure my one of my favorite cartoons of all time ez.

I personally think my favorite episode is 'Winter Forecast'. It's another Connie and Steven episode! If you haven't seen it already, WATCH IT.
First time viewer, Love what you do man keep it up!
Thanks!
+PIEGUYRULZ do you think the quality of the show dropped and kept spiraling down or dipped down for a bit and picked back up
+Lavorne Williams I asked this question because in a comment below you said the quality dropped
Awesome review as always. Are you going to make a review for every Steven Universe Season 1 episode like you did with Spongebob?
that AMA part was soooo inspiring :]
Rebecca Sugar is one of my new heroes now. she love cartoons and video games like me, she was born in Maryland, and she wants to put as much TLC into her work as possible like me. I really love her work and I aspire to be like her when I grow up. :)
the first time i watched Steven i watched every episode in 1 day that was when there were 62 episodes
Greg is my favorite character too!
Watch "Rick & Morty" is absolutly amazing.
I've watched a good amount of episodes from the first season. I don't love it. But I definitely like it. And I could see it being something that grows on me over time
Don't forget each of the three gems represent a different type of relationship, independent, co-dependency , and group depending. Though that was amazing.
*Peridot's leg falls*
Pearl: We'll get the rest of her next.
Garnet: It's a step forward for all of us
Love her message to anyone that wants to write an animated series :)
I've been writing a lot on fictionpress and would really like to write some high quality stories. She makes me feel like that's possible ^^
i need to watch this!!!!!
tell me how or were did you watch them all?
I would go so far as to say Steven Universe has absolutely NO filler episodes, with the exception of Say Uncle, the explicitly non-canon crossover you mentioned.
Garnet's Universe?
Sammy Peterson it was filler but it was good saturating filler also it was hilarious
layathepoodle I was just saying that the episode IS a filler episode.
Well, not even the Uncle Grandpa episode wasn't a filler! Steven learned how to summon his shield in that episode!
+The Signature Kinz that wasn't cannon
I think you should do top 10 steven universe episodes :DDD
I feel all those emotions. It truly is an amazing show, with a wide intellect, little cliffhangers all around, deep dark serious stuff and oblivious Steven saving everyone's a**es from depression. Excuse my language.
