    Hi Jordy, In my opinion the most exciting part working with a wood project is the finishing. The mineral oil brings out texture and color of the wood grain and enhances shadows. Sometimes you have no idea what is hidden in the piece until a finish is added. I love this piece!

    Had a friend bring me a of cotton wood he wanted a duck decoy it carved really nice and the inner wood color was really nice so I just clear coated it looks good be safe

    Jordy, you can see how soft that piece of cotton wood is seeing it grind away so quick. My dad and me sawed some cotton wood up and kiln dried it to build a big shed, it lasted a long time. Oil makes almost a cital tint
