Came here to say this. I think the Icy cellar is one of the scariest places in the game. Every spawn there is a killer. Frozen river isn't as bad but it's much larger.
Even more so when 3 of them are boss groups on one screen. High curse on you, few shots take down 2000 of your 2500 hp and no reaction time against the frenzied undead dolls charging you. My fastest death yet.

I’ve been farming cows and it’s cool that the route you run hits 3 potential terror zones: Tristram, stony, and moo moo farm. Makes it so I can justify running cows during times when any of those 3 are terrorized
Consider this if you would: S-F as a 6 point scale with S being the least points and F being the most. Adding all 3 columns together could give you a numerical value as to what's considered better to farm. So Chaos Sanc is S tier for xp, that is 1 point. It's tier D for survivability, so 5 points. It's Tier S tier for MF, so 1 point. Together that equals 7 points. Kurast Sewers is tier F for xp, so 6 points. C for survivability, so 4 points. D for MF, so 5 points. That'd be rated at 15 points. You could sort the entire list by point value instead. Cathedral is A, B, S, so it'd be at the top with the lowest point value of 6. I suppose you could divide the total of each location by 3 to have a nice, smaller number as 6 being the best is a tad abstract. S, S, S for example would be 3 points, unless you divided the total by 3 thus giving you 1 point instead as the best possible outcome. dividing by 3 would give locations decimal values though, which is fine of course. People are fine with "These x locations are all pretty great", but many of us want "data suggests that this one spot specifically happens to have the best point value which implies that it is the overall top location to farm".
I don't understand why side areas aren't added all across the board. Like Glacial Trail and Drifter Cavern and so on. Why? Just do it wherever possible - which I think is...everywhere? Or am I missing some problem?
llama, why are you rating the A1-3 bosses as such a high MF target? I've largely been skipping them as their Treasure Class doesnt change and their mLVL was generally high enough to drop everything they could not being terrorized; Save Arach. For the most part I have been targeting elite packs as they would at least roll from the TC87 pool while the supers and bosses seem pretty limited. From your last video it sounds like higher mLvL picks preferentially from their highest TC, but in general this seems like only a marginal boost in value for bosses. Am I missing something?
I would guess it's because the even with the same TCs, they are still very high value targets and are included essentially for free. Think of it more like boss running with the extra value from the terror zone itself.
Yeah, I'm with you on this Bob. I was thinking the same thing. Plus elite packs have the guaranteed drops, while the bosses are still held back by huge no drop chances.
I get on most nights after my work shift and back to back get locations I absolutely cannot even begin to farm. I can survive on p1 but with my work schedule I don't have time to sit and look for p8 lobbies. last ladder was incredibly easier to just get a foothold. I feel like everything is literally harder suddenly.
I'm currently playing Diablo 2 ressurected on my Nintendo switch. Best game ever, haven't set it down been playing for a month. I run a hammerdin but I'ma switch up the stats/skills when I get to maybe 90 or heart of the oak. My brother was a ice/light sorc and I had a fire sorc, he also was a hammerdin and a whirlwind barb he was pretty good. Chaos sanctuary seems the best for experience because I died a few times and doing terror zone sanctuary runs gives me a whole bar or so from running them. Tristram is good also and Stony field for tal rashas sets I headd
It is okay that not all zones are S tier, and any zone that is at least B for Exp or MF is finely balanced imo. That said, the easiest adjustment would be to combine zones (similar to Outer Steppes/Plains of Despair) and the examples I'd suggest that weren't already mentioned are: 1) Ancient Tunnels and Lost City/Temple 2) Far Oasis and Hills/Halls 3) Bloody Foothills and Frigid Highlands 4) Arreat Plateau and Crystalline Passage 5) Frozen Tundra and Glacial Trail That would just leave Grounds/Crypt. While they are bad they are also very safe/relaxing. Perhaps a very small tweak in density, or just leave these as the worst zone. If these are the worst case I'd be fine with that.
@Jason Hardin that would mean alot of coding and designing... with what they did all it took was coding and fare less I really like it but would like to see more to it then just increase monster lvls

Live fire sorc but can’t go anywhere as everything is fire res it seems.. the charm does 0 to help anything, same as light charm. My solo online experience tells me almost same things, but i totally disagree about Tal's: like Chaos or WSK it is obv S tier for exping and MFing (as i remember, total elite packs count is 43-60+). My playstyle after week is about jump and farm immediately those 3 areas when i see TZ popup with my Hammerdin (now it is 96 lvl). All other TZs - ignoring and just horking with my Pitzerker). At lvl 96 1 hour of grinding is about: WSK - 6 pct, Tal's and CS - near 5. Sometimes was Flayer's, but now im too lazy for it). Just dont like really big maps with low or spreaded density and few packs.
@mrlamasc question I'm sure alot of people are wondering too. is teleporting and killing the waves better exp or is walking then killing the waves better exp over all. secondly should you kill baal or skip baal?
What is your methodology in running these zones? Are you clearing everything, stuff that’s clumped both non elite packs and normals, or are you just sniping the elite/champ packs only?
What made Frigid Highlands amazing for me is the way I ran it. You said you were teleporting around too much looking for packs. The way I ran it was hitting Eldritch then hug to one side the map and go to the first fortification area hit sharptooth go back along the side all the way down and then hit Eyeback. The whole time in between the 3 super uniques you are spawning champ and boss packs the majority of the time with a pathing that is pretty much linear. This was pretty consistent every hour that it was up.
You're not right about Frigid Highlands. All the archers you mentioned for Bloody Foothills spawn there, too. Add to that the terrain complications, and you got terrible survivability (depending on class).
Can Trav council actually drop tc87s? I horked for an hour on my barb and didn't hit any (even 87 base items) small sample size but I don't think their drops are improved with being a terror zone.
My lvl96 poison nova necro can fill one whole bar of experience in less than an hour in tal rasha, pit, arcane sanctuary, spider forest, flayer jungle or any of the act 1 open spaces except blood moor. The positive of the open spaces is... hello.... experience shrines. Acts 4 and 5 have the worst terror zones.
@@MrLlamaSC Please include Ancient Tunnels as well (it doesn't seem to be included in this video). I know you used to favor the zone before TZs dropped and I'm curious how would you rank it comparatively to other TZs.
