Hopefully it will just be Bag End and the birthday party. I'd like to purchase it on day 1 if it's released with an exclusive minfigure scale GWP. If not, I will most likely postpone the purchase and rather focus on sets retiring in 2025, such as the UCS Razor Crest.
I can see why they are making this, but I'm still hoping we will get a microscale Minas Tirith at some point. After building the Hogwarts Castle & Grounds set, I can't think of a location more perfect for this style of set.
In my dreams I beheld a wave of Modular sections of Minis Tirith, allowing us to buy pieces of the great city over time, until we have the Complete version of the white city.
Im down for cheaper* LEGO LOTR sets, and the Shire is an obvious and popular location for them to make. I'm hoping we still see sub-$100 sets from LOTR in the future as it will make the sets more attainable for all the LOTR fans. Right now with just $500 sets being on the shelf for LOTR, they're not properly testing the market for LOTR sets atm, as they're pricing most of the 'would be buyers' out. I think going down a battle pack/ army builder route will work well for them if they go down that path eventually. But only time will tell.
Piece count has nothing to do with how much detail it can have. It will just be smaller. But im sure it'll be plenty detailed. I think you got "detail" and "size" confused
Hmmmm... Buy Rivendell as just a set, piece in minifigures from both old wave and new...Buy Barad Dur entire set. But the Shire? Don't know if I'd buy it. In the books my favorite places were always away from the shire. It would have to be really worth it based on the minifigure count. (At least for me) Hobbit hole mocs aren't very hard to make, just my opinion.
Lord of the Rings HYYYPPEEEEE

We need more LEGO LOTR sets and this would be great.
