Bro I didn’t even realize itachi’s hand was there for sasuke’s final attack, and didn’t realize naruto trying to weave signs that many times. Video is 11/10
Kawaii Panda do you like sauske more than naruto? I wonder because my favorite was naruto and I noticed the handsign getting rejected but never knew about itachis hand.
My biggest complain about the series was the way Madara died. Madara was a great villian, and suddenly he got replaced by the blandest villian of all time, Kaguya.
From what I heard, they did that because they had made Madara so damn powerful that they had no idea how else they were going to beat him. But don't quote me on that, I heard that rumor from somewhere on the internet as I had myself given up on Naruto around the time that Madara absorbed all the Tailed Beasts.
Sakura was another downfall for the series, had she been killed off or simply never existed in the first place the series would of been 1000 times better! She's the reason I haven't watched or read the last part of naruto since she gets what she wanted in the end.
Naruto just likes to pull the 'You thought _this_ was the villain?! Hah, it's actually this completely different guy!' card. They do it all the time. And most of the time, they then try to make you sympathize with the not-villain, which doesn't always work out.
Interesting how Sasuke always pretended Naruto wasn't worth his attention, yet he somehow knows his fighting style with a lot more detail than any other opponent ever....
Nah he admitted at the end that he looked up to naruto and was jealous of his progress . Plus he said he wanted to fight him many times which made naruto happy . Bro are you sleeping ?
I haven't even finished Shippuden cause I thought it became a shitshow eventually but Sasuke taking Naruto seriously was very well built for a long time. Starting from when Naruto first got infused with the Kurama chakra in the bridge arc, then Sasuke's loss to Rock Lee and specially Naruto beating Gara and then Sasuke seeing how powerful the Rasengan was after confronting him. In fact Sasuke's pride and overconfidence getting broken by people who had nowhere near his talent was what pushed him towards Orochimaru in the first place, since he believed he would never beat Itachi unless he gave up everything for power. That and getting his ass choked by Itachi of course. Sasuke growing to respect Naruto is probably the most consistent thing about his character honestly.
@@wisefelipe Exactly! I don't understand when ppl say Sasuke never cared about Naruto and Sakura or never respected them! Like are you even watching the same show?! Sasuke went as far as to throw his life away for Naruto subconsciously! When facing Garaa, he told Naruto to take Sakura and run and he will manage to delay Garaa when he had almost no power left, He said: "I don't want my PRECIOUS comrades to die in front me" ready to throw his life away to protect them. Like I get when a show gets too long you might forget these feelings, but the story NEVER showed that Sasuke doesn't care about them. I mean how do you decide to cut off your bonds if you don't know you have them in the first place? He's a multilayered character with a tragic story that lead him to darkness. The author made Sasuke the eye of the viewer to the darkness of the story when a 12 years old boy said that his goal is to "kill" someone! This took longer than I expected.
@@wisefelipe can you explain to me why it "became a shitshow" in your opinion? I jsut finished watching it, and for me it was brilliant from start to finish. is it because of the fillers? I skipped most of them
@@slkjvlkfsvnlsdfhgdght5447 It's because most people hated how the power scaling went ridiculously like dbz...Naruto is all about fighting using strategy from the start with chakra...But, most people hated how the fight become into my power level is greater than yours...Most people didn't like the entry of kaguya as final villain instead of madara...And naruto made obito into a good person with talk no jutsu annoyed many people...Many people thought that making naruto and sasuke into a literal ninja jesus due to destiny spoils the "Hardwork beats destiny" theme of naruto
lol yeah i agree with that. some songs have been used more than once and bring back the same feel as the previous time it was used. sasuke's music when he is in the orochimaru stage is a wester standoff feel.
Really? KnY is much better in those terms then. Also ever seen HxH? Their fights may not seem as epic as compared to Naruto but they have way more emotional intensity
Naruto is in the top 3 with over billions of copies sold. There's a reason behind it: better story, better villains, better fights and better OSTs. Fact!
@@joshuawentzel3282 Yeah millions whatever. (No actually the numbers have changed now but in any case OP is more sold in Japan and less in the whole world where DBZ and Naruto gained much more audience, don't ask my why lol)
Who the fuck says that 💀 im overly disgusted when new weebs start saying that honestly comparing naruto to the other anime's obviously naruto was the king of anime
The fan edit, Naruto Kai, is so much better. Few fillers in Naruto are worth watching. The only ones I liked were the ones where team 7 tries to look at Kakashi's entire face.
@@FukubeHattori Well that's your opinion but hell no dragonball is an Anime with no emotional moments and is just watched because of nostalgy factor. And Bleach was not so good I stopped after 7-8 Episodes...
@@FukubeHattori You are just an idiot. Tell me some scenes with emotion where you were sad, cried or had goosebumps because of a shocking moment or saw a backstory which made you love a character which you hated before come on I'm waiting idiotic dragonball fangirl I watched the anime couple of times. Just nostalgia.
Shisui Uchiha lol your just salty for calling me an idiot and yes i am too because you said something pretty offensive oh btw im not a girl also vegeta sacrificing himself was emotional and android 16’s death was too
Apologies for those who the video was blocked for before, it got flagged for copyright and was blocked in a few countries. Hope everything is ok now though!
The musical score and the flashbacks are what make the Kakashi v. Obito fight good. Two very strong characters both with immensly tragic backstories laying it all out on the table.
lflames92 yeah and they weren’t just generic random flashbacks, the flashbacks fit in with the fight so well and we’re incorporated with the choreography and fighting they were currently doing, with hardly any words and in such a short time such a large story was told
@@dragonbane44 Thing is Naruto has like at least 10 times as many fillers and almost got to the point that you had to wait half a year to watch the real storyline.. Sad thing about One piece though is that in having less fillers has slowed down the pace of the real episodes so much making it honestly unwatchable.
Naruto Universe has something that doesn't exist in other anime, I don't know what it is but it keeps me watching even if I'm not really interested in character that doesn't exist in real world.
I think that it's the way that all of the parts of the world interact with each other. the show rewards you for paying attention to details, and there are so many moments where you go "oh, it all makes so much sense!"
Aaron Joushua You... Don't know one piece... It has over 900 chapters and it's still ongoing. Naruto has 700, ain't no way in hell it would be warped up in mere 5 seasons. Would need about 275-325 episodes with only manga content. It's a problem that occurs in *every* ongoing anime that still has unfinished manga. Anime must not catch up to it, so there will always be fillers and flashbacks. So. No. Neither of them are milked, it's just the way things work. Get your shits together people.
Was amazing, and the lead animator actually died "young" because of how overworked he was (not a joke). Now to be salty anime elite snob to defend. Anyone who doesn't like it would rather have over the top animation with NO choreography whatsoever. You may not like everything about it, but to say it was shit, is like saying Van Gogh couldn't draw.
Flying Hipo It maybe was not that pretty but it was fast and the choreography was really cool, ask anyone to do such fight animations they'll do as bad or even worse so now stop hating uselessly.
I binged this whole anime in about two weeks two years ago, skipping all the filler. I had an absolute blast and still regard it as my favorite binge to this date. This made all the fights, in my opinion, much MUCH better, although they were riddled with flashbacks and super-long explanations. I also find that I don't really get all the hate Naruto gets, in regards to everything but the filler. I loved sasuke and his arc, I loved all the fights, I loved the way Naruto was handled and I never minded the "Talk and make friends with your friends jutsu". idk, maybe I'm just a shonen tard. I'm still going to love Naurto for the incredible ride it gave me and the banger openings it had that still pop up in my head 2 years later.
I’m in basically the exact same boat (but I watched like half the filler) and I honestly agree. It’s become my favorite binge and probably is the anime I’m most attached to currently and has left the biggest impact on me. I really don’t understand the hate it gets for well basically being a shonen and other shonen aren’t criticized for similar thinga
@@LavenderPi naruto haters are just retarded and salty that naruto clears their favorites in everything and blew up to be so big, also some RUclips memes have been taken too far as the series has now ended for 5-6 years.
The hate is minimal more people actually love the show than hate it. The show has its flaws but it’s one of most popular anime/manga series ever for a reason. Just like dragonball this show has so many memes that are within pop culture as a whole
But some of the fillers in the original Naruto are absolute classics, you cannot simply just skip them. Filler in shippuden is trash, skip that shit for sure.
My favorite fight of the whole series was sasuke vs itachi. The whole backstory and explanation of the reasons leading up to that... well no other anime could do that.
mustaqim hadi for real man all fights look cool in the opening i was stupid when i was young to believe they were the same e.g fairytail, seven deadly sin, dbz............... you name any anime for me it was my hero academia especially one for all vs all for one it looked sick in the opening but shit when it actually started. all im saying is nearly every opening (not all maybe) is shit compared to the actual fight dont repeat my mistake
I know this is old but I honestly didn't think Sasuke was a badly built character. His character was meant to be completely lost and misguided. Which is why it was once stated he's a "blank canvas that still needs to be painted". His entire life he was constantly manipulated and struggled to find truth and a true path. After finding out his entire life was a lie he didn't know what to do but act out in anger. He then talked to the Kages and realized "hey, fuck what everybody else says or does. I need to live my life the way I think is right" then he realized that he failed and wasn't strong enough to do what he needed on his own and went back to his more peaceful side. Then he set off on a journey to atone for his sins and learn more about the world.
My favourite Naruto fight is probably the Shikamaru /Asuma/Choji/Ino vs Hidan/Kakuzu fight. There is action as well as smart tactics without over the top mountain leveling power ups . There's an actual death and consequences. Also Hidan was a pretty great villain.
it helps he was one of the few legitimately unashmedly evil villains in the franchise, which worked a lot better than kishimoto's attempts at making everyone redeemable anti-villains
i mean its petty but you forgot about kakashi... who was an integral part of the plan.... yeah and i do appreciate the fact that they were away from people from more visible things but its not the only fight in the anime with death and consequences'
@aceotakuy. Wrong, Hidan wasn't purely evil, he was simply following his beliefs... Also kishimoto's "attempt" to make characters redeemable made perfect sense. For example Pain was trying to essentially create peace through the method of Nukes in todays world. That twist made his character a lot more interesting and understandable. Madara wanted to create a world of peace but in order to do that many had to die. Again, this makes Madaras character way more interesting since we see he isn't just some wacko killing for no reason. Not trying to argue with you, just simply correct you. I like all characters
I feel like Naruto does the best with strategy during fights. Unlike Dragonball or One piece where they just over power the other guy, in Naruto it’s not all about strength. Shikamaru’s fights for example show this the best. I LOVE seeing the thought process behind the awesome things they do.
im sorry but the reason why i droppend jojo after 2 seasons was the overthetop action and incredible plot holes, but yeah they have some decent strategy tho
@@burritodefrijolconchorizo HxH has boring fights. Even boring ass powers are explained in great detail by the annoying narrator or are dumped on the viewer by the characters. The anime thinks people are stupid, that is why it feels the need to explain every boring ass detail.
@@lunarhinata8889 jojo sure has quite a few plot holes and imperfections on that part, but the fights are always creative and are always about using your enviroment and powers, some of them aren't even hand-to-hand physical fights (e.g. Darby brothers) regarding strategy, jojo is one of the best, if not the best, anime out there
If Naruto took out like half the fillers and edited shippuden down to take out a lot of the drawn out crap, then I think it would truly be one of the greats. I think for all its criticisms it still is very good, and got an entire generation into anime. Its a shame it wasnt perfect, but I think there are some really redeeming features and stories from the show. Great video Gigguk
I agree. It's a great series, but the Anime milked it dry and then turned it to dust. When they put their minds to it, they can make something great (Kakashi V Obito and Naruto V Sasuke are the best and truly elevated the story). It's just a shame that the other half of the time, they let their interns write the story and their kids do the animation.
Many flaws don't even come from the anime, like the bullshit power ups during and after the Pain arc, because those were bullshit. I can't remember a good fight in terms of brains after the first series. Even most of the Shikamaru's battles ended in a way that I would not call satysfing
I agree with that but I do think they should of deleted Kaguya from the show too. And actually make madara the last villain. And not make obito a disposable dip shit. Well actually to re do the whole arc, but keeping some points i.e the two fights shown, and a lot of characters coming back. And they should of made the Hokages actually somewhat good.
GenoFour SPOILER ALERT Aizen and jiriahs lasts fights were pretty good. Gara's fight with the akatsuki was good too, but those were early on in the show.
Everything has a flaw, also the longer a anime is the more chances of that, so if a anime is shorter than naruto, its not fair to compare....thats one thing people completely forget
@@Burago2k as if they gonna consider that haha, they believe their favourite anime is the only best thing happened and others are irrelevant or rudely said,garbage/trash Nostalgia blinded fans pffftt
Not every fucking thing in the world is about opinions, water is water, a fact is a thing that exists? If an anime make a really good job in a genre, no matter the taste's its a really good animation or whatever it is.
Literally the Kakashi vs Obito fight is like having a fight with your friend, no talking no noithing just exchanging blows but at the end you guys forgive eachother or seperate due to ideals
If you want an anime fight that tells a grand story, just watch the toilet paper struggle in the Kyuubei Arc of Gintama. Now that is what I call a battle of wills.
vladthetransilvanian The problem is that I have a tendency to marathon through shows. And rather than watching a few hundred episodes of one show I can finish dozens of other ones that are just as good. It's not really a reason to not watch a show, it's just why I keep putting it off. I'll probably save it for next summer.
Ash luckily, Gintama is a more episodic series. So you can just watch it a few episodes at a time. And the arcs are usually just about 3 episodes long on average
To be honest I think Kakashi is the most well done out of the Naruto series. Hes like the obi wan Kenobi of Naruto. Kakashi's journey was subtle complex and simple at the same time. Although it had some bumps here and there which was just Naruto series bad story telling he was the best done in my opinion feel free to hate!
I feel like the ending of the war arch(The Kaguya Fight) was a brilliant way to end his arc. His whole life, he was burdened by the loss of his father, Rin, and Obito, and had at least 1 thing to remind him of it his entire life(Dad=body, Obito=Sharingan, Rin=Mangekyo). During the Pain arc, he came to terms with his dad when he died and was resurrected, which could be seen as him getting a new body, and during the war arc, he and Obito came to terms with their past and forgave one another, and Kakashi lost his Sharingan, which was his last reminder of his painful past.
naruto is life man. Edit: Just saying, I have seen many other anime and almost all the great shonen anime too and there are shonen anime that are better than naruto but since this was my first anime it will always stay close to my heart. (a one-piece is the best long-running shonen anime in my opinion, well as long as it has a great ending it will remain the best. I know many will say hunter hunter but its ending sucked cause it wasn't an ending, YU YU hakashu's ending is much better . Same goes with bleach )
Simple, It Has Godly Hand to Hand Combats Animations instead of just two overpowered rivals throwing beams at eachother and big explosion everywhere like dragonball
OG Dragon Ball fights are better than Dragon Ball Z. Less explosions and beam struggles, and no "the stronger fighter wins" bs. Fights in Dragon Ball rely more on skill.
"People only like it for animation" Not completely true; some people also like the epic music. Yuki Kajiura is a very well-known composer after all. That being said, I also agree that with respect to storytelling in popular anime, SAO's storytelling and character development is the lowest of the low.
I don't see Sasuke's story going all over the place as being necessarily bad. I always felt like that was mainly a personal gripe than objective criticism, because regardless of how you feel each decision and road Sasuke took had a purpose at that particular time. If you look at the motivations in this series superficially you'll fail to resonate with them. I'm not saying Sasuke's story was perfect, but him never really having a solid foundation in his motives was as much a plot as any other in the series. From part 1 and up his only goal was vengeance, but he kept uncovering how fucked up his situation really was again and again. He no longer could harbor hatred towards his brother for his tragic life, the whole shinobi world and system was at fault, his journey is about how he copes with it and if he'll follow in the footsteps of Madara and Obito and Pain, characters who were molded into criminals and anarchist because of how the world treated them. He is supposed to be sent all over the place as he gradually unravels the shinobi system and its many dark secrets and history. He was a rogue ninja who had a selfish goal that grew into a selfless vision for the world, there's not really any flaw in that.
The main problem with Sasuke is how, as Mother's Basement described, Sasuke has WAAAYYYYYY too much attention in the series. As it went along, the series seemed to want to make its characters flaunt over bringing Sasuke home rather than focus on their own development, causing many supporting characters to become sidelined. I do agree that Sasuke's decisions were relatively understandable, but that should never come at the expense of others' development. I mean, they made Kushina and Mikoto really good friends, had them be reincarnations of two brothers, tried to make them look too much like two sides of the same coin (which is Gaara's job), etc. Everything became this crazy predestining that ultimately made things convoluted and WTF-ing.
I dropped Naruto Shippuden years ago when the story went to shit but I would never take back what I watched of it, it has some brilliant characters, story arcs and some of the best fight scenes in all anime, battle shonen shows do some things really good despite their weakness
+Akira_Ackerman lmao no one forced u to watch it dumbass. Shippuden was amazing. Part 1 was perfect. Hate fuckers who watch and complain. All u fucking elitists love long running battle shonen just as much as us
All shippuden was great till Pain. After beating Pain animators fcked up so much that sometimes I was cursing on them for doing such thing to Naruto. But of course not whole naruto after Pain was bad. Sasuke road to deprevation was not brilliant, but still good, showcasing Obito way to that point was not bad either, and also Madra vs thousands of shinobi was fckin awesome. But then ? We had to wait till kakashi vs obito and then naruto vs sasuke to get something good. But beside all of those shit that has been done, I still love naruto because this anime truly waked up anime fan in me.
Kakashi vs Obito was the greatest fight in the entire series. Rock Lee vs Gaara is a very close second, but the story behind Kakashi and Obito was slightly better, because the Rock Lee Gaara fight really only highlighted Rock Lee's story and Gaara was merely and obstacle in Lee proving himself as a shinobi whom has no Jutsu.
Definately the character arc here was felt between Kakashi and Obito, idk what this guy was talking about when he says fans weren't invested anymore, not true.
Say what you will about Sasuke. That he is simply the result of an editor saying "Why don't we create a rival character? Every Shounen manga needs a rival character". The Uchiha story line is still one of the most compelling things about Naruto for me. Sasuke's arc may have been all over the place but without it, or at least without his story, I don't think Naruto would've been able to carry his own show.
Dont lump sasuke in with the Uchiha storyline. Sasuke was a bi product of everything Itachi and the Uchiha's went through and doesn't deserve the credit as a character for that. I think Itachi should get most of the credit there, for what he did on a whole.
oO PPH Oo At the beginning yes, but sasuke lost me when he killed itachi and said, "I'm gonna destroy the village anyway." Itachi's plight of love for both his home and his brother was beautiful in its own way, but then sasuke (and the writers) took a shit on all of that. To add insult to injury, sasuke turns around and then says, "I'm gonna be hokage." Later shippuden sasuke is fickle and fucking sucks
I agree with everything you said, but for me personally the reason I love fights in Naruto is because of the complexity of them. The naruto world with ninjutsu allows for such immensely diverse and interesting ways of fighting, while taijutsu and kenjutsu still beeing relevant. No other anime Ive seen has used its worlds physical laws to that extent. Take Bleach for instance, it has all the same possibilities that Naruto has with kido and hado in addition to shikai and bankai, but still all we see is Ichigo facing *insertbadguynamehere*, both powering up over and over, and just to continue to bash their swords together. In naruto every shinobi is different with their choice of weaponry, elemental affinity, their skill in yin-yang release (kage bunshin, flying thundergod, etc), and kekkei genkai. With that many variables no character ever is the same with the exception of the background characters who drop dead instantly even tho theyre supposedly chuunin/jonin/anbu level. But thats a discussion for another youtube video I guess.
mikael meland very good point. The thing people forget is how personal this show gets and honestly it's beautiful metaphorically. For example all their powers are insanely representations of their personalities. Main characters : Naruto- all over the place = shadow clone jutsu - believes the sky is the limit = rasengan/wind style - has vicious demons = Nine tailed fox power Sasuke - Burning desire = fireball and black flame variants Dark nature = red sharingan eyes Believes the corrupted world need to be brought to light = lightning style Kakashi - Sharingan = hiding a lot of tough losses Sakura - Medical jutsu =wants to heal Sasuke Strength of Tsunade = is without the one she is in love with and must be strong and independent Even characters Obito- Kamui = always escaping the reality he really wanted Shino - Aburame insects = subtle and quiet. Almost unnoticeable like a bug. Kankuro - Puppet master jutsu = such a commanding attitude (was even named a captain in the 4th shinobi war) Neji - Byakugan style attacks = sees the facts and strikes accordingly Kidomaru - Spiderlike jutsu = likes to see his prey struggle Asuma - Chakra brass knuckles = cuts out the BS (kinda) Kurenai - Flowerlike genjutsu = A rose with thorns I could keep going it just seems kishimoto made a power for almost every personality type, created a fabricated world where the flow of chakra, nature energy, perception affecting jutsu, and so on, we're given their own sciences and creating an overall statement of how realistic such a place could seem if the circumstances were so. Like.. damn Kishimoto... Sometimes genius even seems like an understatement to me.
Bleach only limits what people can do when it needs to to portray the correct emotion. As such it does the same for overpowering. Granted the anime is pretty bad in some parts and the manga went to shit after the arrancar arc but what you're talking about I think Bleach does better. Like the dude that didn't want to look ugly. He had a shikai that sucked the spiritual pressure out of people but he managed to bend the rules of zanpakuto releases just to hide that from his friends who would think it's cowardly. But more than that, there's the whole general style and power change between different types of beings. Soul reapers are based off Japanese culture so they're very rigid in both personality and technique, which is why just having spiritual pressure doesn't mean you can use every kido or hado. Otherwise captain of squad 11 would blow up the entire las noches or whatever aizen's hideout was. Then espada have a mix of Japanese and Spanish culture which is an interesting match up, mixing that strict technique with passionate personality and style. And then full bringers, who were literally based on the sole idea of diversity, involving mainly American culture (although that's a bit harder to point out compared to the other two since the US invites all cultures), and having completely different powers for each person. What you're describing as diversity in Naruto powers, I would call simple fantasy. Most things in Naruto are based off of Japanese folklore, the powers being more like magical interpretations of old gods the more powerful they get. Sort of like how fairy tail kind of has a more European take on magic.
Its stuff like this that makes me hope Naruto Shippuden eventually gets the Brotherhood treatment and distills the drawn out story into a more pure narrative without the filler.
But that's not comparable to Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA Brotherhood was made because most of the manga still wasn't animated. The Naruto Manga on the other hand is pretty much completely done in the anime. Dragonball Kai would be a better example.
Even though Naruto’s drip isn’t on the same level as Sasuke’s I can’t help but think it’s on purpose. Sasuke throughout the series (mainly towards the end of Shippuden) changes his goal multiple times. I feel like his outfits reflect his current goals while Naruto has a straightforward ideology that can’t be broken. Even when Naruto has a new power up his appearance still revolves around his original outfit. For example: his sage cloak is over his usual clothing. I applaud Kishimoto for that even if it wasn’t on purpose.
Tbh my favorite anime fight was the naruto Paine fight. Mainly because naruto started to actually think about what he is doing in fights and it even shows how much naruto cares for his comrades before he pulls off the nine tale seal. It shows how much he wants to protect his comrades like Hinata when she was stabbed by Paine. It even is the first time he meets Minato. Which was one of my favorite moments even though it made me cry. A lot
Then please for your own health dont fucking watch Boruto. And i like it that way too. I really like it when the MC goes fucking nuts and goes on a complete rampage. There are two good examples of this. Yato vs Rabo - Noragami and The time when Obito saw Kakashi kill Rin
Dexter The Fan Ikr like shut up snd fight if you wanna fight, the first Sasuke vs Naruto fight they talked a lot.. now watching this video I'm thinking maybe its because they were powerful yet, cuz Sasuke said two powerful people can speak with just and exchange of fists or something
remember the ending of the impel down arc? bon kurei's speech right before he fought magelan? that very moment was more epic than most of what fights in naruto ever gave
But that's the point, I thought Mr.2 looked like a total idiot the first time I saw him, but his character arc was done so well he ended up becoming one of my favorite characters anyways. One Piece is just that good.
Sam S.I. In one of the cover stories Oda does, he shows Bon Kurei is alive in Impel Down. He's the new leader of the New Okama Nation at level 5.5 after Ivanko left
one important thing i really appreciate is .... this show has world class background music and they really understood how and when to use background music and when to not use them... it adds more emotional weight to the scene.... sometimes lack of music is more effective than with OST ... and i love that..... this shows how much they really care for this show
Naruto is the perfect combination of hand to hand combat mixed with sharp tools, such as knives and swords. All this time we either had fist fights(DBZ) or sword fights(Bleach). And Naruto gave us both at the same time.
Naruto indeed has smart fights, where you have to counter eachother abilities... Not like Full Metal Alchemist, where you simply try to kill everyone with stupid hitting them into the face multiple times, even when it doesn't work...
Same bro. Long running battle shonens for life. They may not be perfect but the nostalgia from high amount of eps, fights, ranking system and art makes it very enjoyable
Dude, plenty of shounen out there are absolutely amazing. One Piece, JoJo's, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Gintama, hell, I can't go through all this without mentioning fucking Dragon Ball which is one of the fucking classics!
fat rat fh the premise of hunter x hunter might be basic, but the show itself is certainly not basic. Interesting main characters, actually good villians, great story arcs and amazing fight scenes. It's one of the best shounen ever and that is a fact!
I have avoided this series like the plague ever since 2003 when the manga first came out. THEN I saw this video. I was like huh... good point. I moved on.. and then a friend sent this video to me and I watched it again. 4 months later I'm on episode 175 of Shippuden. .... okay I can see why this show is great. Thank you Gigguk, you have changed the mind of someone who hated this series for 16 years. Great job!
now you know Popular doesnt equal bad people are not stupid and there always will be a reason why something is popular Naruto has plenty of those reason and flaws come due to its immense popularity
@@mygodwhatdidyoudo her comment clearly shows that people hate something for no reason. Racism exist too for no reason. White people hate Black, Brown, Natives, Asians, Indians for no reason and then people say that there is no racism in USA.
My favorite fight was Sasuke vs. Orochimaru in the Forest of Death. I know Sasuke didn't stand a chance but it was so full of strategy and trickery and wow moments as well as being crucial to Sasuke as a character.
That was one of the reasons I enjoyed the fights more in Naruto than in Naruto Shippuden. There was strategy, clever thinking, and some actual ninja stealth maneuvers involved. While Shippuden also had those fights, they gradually moved away from strategy-like battles until we ended up with fights that basically boiled down to who could throw the most destructive jutsus around.
JokersRWild that fight gave me aniexty watching it as a kid..the fact something that's so intimidating you can barely move it very frightening especially sasuke had to stab his leg to make himself move
Ardashes Najarian same with the Saruka fight that follows that fight. It's one of the VERY VERY FEW times Saruka is shown as useful and actually uses some strategy and bravery to keep 3 intimidating ninjas at bay
The part where he stabs his leg to snap himself out of the genjutsu...holy shit, that was intense. Like, actual, pain-killing intense, not, "Oh hey, I was thrown to a wall but I"m cool now"
The only thing I disagree with is what you say that Naruto barely had subtlety. As someone who has watched pretty much the whole series (including fillers) there are plenty subtle moments to put in shame other shounen like DBZ.
Nike Som-Anya when naruto accepted sakura's request to save sasuke as she was crying for a guy that didnt even give two fucks about her and he held his headband down and smiled because he knew tht no matter what he did she would never be his but he only wanted her to be happy so he promised while in pain to bring home that sasuke dick for her
Jimmy Ramos You used DBZ as an example, you know, possibly one of the least subtle anime/manga in all of Shounen. Really using that example doesn't help your point in any way shape or form.
naruto is deeply flawed as a series, but knowing and understanding that fact didnt stop me from actualy crying in some episodes.. and i never cryed over any other movie or tv series.. i never even cry about shit in my real life... i know there is a lot of room to criticize it, but those of us who grew up on it - we never realy cared about that..
just asking, exactly how is it flawed?there are no plot holes(relatively very low amount)if you did some logical thinking and theres just too much lore unexplored ,seriously im not lying its like kishimoto built the story around a world he built with no flaws at all(yeah every story is but this is a special case) naruto is like a puzzle where there are many unknown pieces but everything getting connected to eachother if you dwell deep enough to the lore i sound very stupid and biased but naruto is full of easter eggs man,its incredible
@@lunarhinata8889 Naruto has really inconsistent animation, way too much filler, and a lot of plot holes lmao (Tobi being Obito...Obito playing Madara.... Madara implanting the Rinnegan in Nagato's eyes as a child..like where is the connection between the Hidden Rain Village and Madara Uchiha lol...Kaguya) and really underdeveloped characters like Sakura and basically every side character in Naruto Shippuden. I actually really love Naruto but I can't deny that these inconsistencies exist
Eobard Thawne I don’t like the way Danzo fights in this fight. He basically just purely relies on the Sharingan to bring him back to life. I thought him and Hiruzen were rivals in strength? What kind of abilities did Danzo have before the Uchiha massacre? He still should’ve been as strong as Hiruzen. That’s just what I wish was changed.
Srikar Govindarajula I mean there is a reason why hiruzen was hokage and danzo wasn’t. Their “rivalry” seems like Goku vegeta thing where danzo can’t really challenge hiruzen like that. That’s just my opinion
@@srikargovindarajula he has all th elite powers (cos he controls his own elite shinobi so he probably got lazy). But Hiruzen is said to be the strongest knowing every element there is with summoning and all that. Danzo only had some elements including wind whicch he used, a dope summoning, hashiramas cell, shargans, sword style and that forbbidden technique. I wouldn't say that he was that bad just had a lot of techniques he stole (the only worthy one being the 8 trigram seal im guessing its name was at the end where he suicided)
i personally liked Sasukes story, he was broken and didn't know what to believe, he went from hating his brother to finding out that his brother cared about him more that anyone else and when he found out that the corrupts leaf village elders are what made his brother do these things he wanted revenge, then he got to talk to his brother and understood why what he did had to happen and wanted to accept everyone's hate as his brother did to make a perfect life for others. again just my opinion but he was torn in a bunch of different directions and to me it wasn't all that bad
gonzo191 Because its the best. Perfect, but heartbreakingly realistic. We were watching, waiting for that, good guy ass pull, but it never happened. That fight was like life man. No matter how hard you try there is still only two options. Success or fail.
Yup. Not only is the fight a fucking spectacle to watch with gorgeous camera movement, with intense and good looking choreography. It also adds a lot of weight to the whole "hardworker vs genius" theme that existed in the early part of the series. So it really does feel like there is heavy emotional weight behind it, despite Lee and Gaara never having a relationship. Despite Lee continously getting the better of Gaara, he's still foiled by him. The battle is basically a four segmentfight: Lee trying and failing to blitz him at first. When it doesn't work, he takes off the weights and do blitz Gaara. Only for Gaara to reveal a shitty, cheap trick. Only then for Lee to use his most powerful technique and with it not working, he opens the gate. And even though that doesn't work either, he proves himself so well as an incredible adversary to Gaara, while also proving to everybody else that his hardwork DID pay off. Even though he couldn't get the better of Gaara in the end of the day.
Sasukes character arc was all over the place? Wtf? Its as straightforward as it gets: My brother killed my entire clan -> i want to kill my brother Turns out my brother was forced to do that by the village -> i want to destroy the village that made my brother and i suffer My dead brother tells me the whole truth and how he feels about it -> now i know not everything is black or white, to prevent this sort of thing from happening again i must change reality itself I connected with my best friend in such a deep level that i know he can change that reality for the better -> i want to support my friend
chameze The broad strokes of his character arc make sense but its all the little moments in between that aren't as good. Almost like the writer knew what big moments he wanted to have, but wasn't exactly sure how he was getting there until he wrote the thing.
sasuke was a great character, people just dont like him as much because it falls into a troupe and i think he had moments and writer knew exactly what to do with sasukes character if not could you point me some instances where you think it wasnt that good?
People use the filler excuse not to finish Naruto, i understand for ppl who never watched it cuz 700+ episodes is a lot its the same for One Piece and Bleach. Just google a filler free episode list and continue, easy as that. As for the number of episodes i rather 700+ over these 13 episode anime we get nowadays which may or may not ever continue.
Brandon Crosby well actually those are flashbacks we seen a million times. The filers are actually in their own episodes arcs that can be easily avoided if one wants.
Brandon Crosby what do you mean? They could just look up a episode guide on Google or watch a Episode review on Yutube. If thats their excuse its a rather weak one TBH
You do realize that I have multiple friends that tried that and always come back to me asking how they got lost and had mother fight spoiled. Your boxed world view is weak imo.
Joel Ducram In terms of "memorable" soundtracks 1- Dragon ball z 2- naruto 3- crap ton of other anime (maybe attack on Titan, or death note for example)
what about the mighty guy vs madara fight? it had a nice build up whereas the skill-limited character that is guy[no nin-/genjutsu] (and also lee) basically match their only condition to ever go all out and show the world what they r capable of ... guy gloriously passing down to lee (and the viewer) the real value/possibilities of what true willpower can do
Stoeter09 in all honesty, they should have spent a tad more money on the guy vs madara fight. Compared to the two fights he's talking about in this video, that fight was done a misjustice from what it could've been
Noxillius I don’t know why so many people think Guy can’t do ninjutsu and genjutsu. He’s clearly seen doing summoning Justus several times. He just specializes in taijutsu
Exactlyyyy !!!!! Guy sensei deserved a better animated fight. The animation was a dogshit if not then the fight would go down as best fight in naruto history
3:20 I know I'm late AF to Naruto (started a few months ago, finished yesterday LOL) but this moment is the most brilliant in the whole series. Seriously. Just... What even? How to even describe this masterpiece of 5 seconds of story telling??
I can agree to everything except that sasukes character wasn't developed correctly.. his life a shit show to say the least, his clan was killed by his own brother, while he thought that Itachi was the real villian for his entire life. That changed in a instant while some random dude came out of nowhere and told him, you know what your brother was the hero that you killed. He had a mental breakdown after he learnt all this that he went insane for a good portion in the anime. To me he actually has one of the best character developments.
To be honest, Naruto is probably the best of the three. Especially in fight scenes. The manga does an amazing job and the anime is alright. That Kakashi vs Obito one is one of my favourites as well. So is the part 2 version of Naruto vs Sasuke. Madara going ham is another one too lol. Oh and Jiraiya vs the six paths of Pein. Those are probably the only fights that grabbed me.
The thing which immediately drew me to Naruto when it came out was the strategic thinking when it came to battles. Just coming off the era of the mindless punches of DBZ it was quite refreshing. As some have said that Shikamaru, Naruto, Kakashi fight vs Hidan/Kakuzu is right up there with the best purely because there was so much thinking behind each move as one mistake felt like it would result in instant death.
John Smith man same! I remember when I fell off and found out how many eps ive missed since the midway point in the war. Man one day I'll have to sit down and just go back in.
It won't take that long lol just skip the fillers and you'll be done in no time. The animation quality for some episodes will be below average but surprisingly around the time kaguya appeared in the anime is when the animation starts to get better and better. Id even say the series got better as well as the animation is still good as of now.
Rewatched Naruto and shippuden over the last few months, and I’ve got to say it’s 10x better than I remembered it once I was able to skip the filler. Binging Naruto at your own pace is so much better than watching weekly. Yes, the story quality and pacing really starts to suffer during the war arc, but everything before that was straight 🔥
great fights in Naruto: (most have great story told in the fights all animated really well). Kakashi - Zabuza Hinata - Neji Lee - Garra Shino - Zaku Naruto - Neji Temari - Shikamaru Itachi & Kisame - Guy, Kurenai, Asuma, & Kakashi Choji - Jirobo Tayuya - Shikamaru & Temari Kimimaru - Lee & Gara Sasuke - Naruto (rooftop & valley of death) Shipuden: Gara - Diedara Sasori - Sakura & Chiyo Hidan - Shikamaru Sasuke - Diedara Jaraiya - Konan & Pein Sasuke - Itatchi Pein - Kakashi & Choji Pein - Naruto & Hinata Sasuke & Hebi - 5 Kage Summit Sasuke - Danzo Tobi - Konan Itachi & Nagato - Naruto & Killer B Madara Vs Everyone (this is more spectacle than story, but its too damn cool) Kakashi - Obito Sasuke - Naruto Shipudden has 4 more great fights (in my opinion) and double the episodes this is why (at least i think) that shipudden gets shat on so much. That along with the filler being either way more hit or miss. where the first chapter's filler was more allright with a few fun fillers put in there, Shipudden has a few really good filler (like the gurren and 3 tailed filler arcs) and many terrible fillers (such as the 3 months on a boat arc).
The fights I liked the most in Shippuuden are Jiraiya vs Pain, Naruto vs Pain, Itachi and Sasuke vs Kabuto, Kakashi vs Obito, Obito vs Mist Ninja, and Madara vs the Tailed Beasts, Sasuke, Naruto, Killer Bee and Gaara. I also liked a small part in the Obito Jinchuuriki vs Naruto and Sasuke fight where Obito's feelings poured through Naruto since that moment hit me right in the feels. My favorite of all time though was Madara vs Guy. Throughout the entire series of the original and Shippuuden I wanted to see all eight gates open and it felt so satisfying to see the payoff after waiting for so long.
I think worse usage of side characters also hurt Shipudden. There were a few that got good scenes like Might Guy and Shikamaru but most characters felt like they were demoted to the background and thus the many people who preferred them to the main cast were not happy.
Naruto does have the BEST fights in anime. There's martial arts included in the fights, special jujutsu (ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu) and Naruto characters actually fight with skill and strategy. Also, there is a plot to Naruto and a REASON to all the fighting, unlike some anime (*cough, cough* Dragon Ball Z, I still like DBZ though). Naruto has some of the best storylines and fights in anime, and the fights are actually super emotional and Badass (altough i gotta admit, alot of fights in anime are badass). So in meh opinion-onions, Naruto has the BEST fights in anime. Thats a VERY long speech there. *NOW GO EAT RAMEN*
The first episode of the remastered hd Naruto anime (which is covering every episode of the original series) is actually airing tomorrow, they wanted to start airing it alongside with Boruto
I think you dont even need to describe that Gigguk. Everyone knows how awesoe, emotional, breathtaking, super animated, exciting, intense and perfect this fight was. Of course there are people who will hate.. why? They cant get over it how awesome this is. Those people dont even watch Naruto.. it IS a fact that this fight is the best fight in Naruto EVER!
I completely disagree about sasuke I feel he was the most 3 dimensional character developed by the series creator and the last speech about his motivations for doing what he was going to do felt like he was doing the right thing (from his perspective of course)
I get into anime because I love naruto, the story the fighting scene feels very cool and emotional, when I look at some anime there are some good fights but still naruto I would say is the king of fighting scene
Exactly. It took me a long time to enjoy other anime because I’ve always compared its fights to narutos. Sadly hardly few comes close but there’s I also realized there’s more than the fights that make the anime good!
You took the words right out of my mouth, this video is fantastic. The fights in Naruto really never cease to impress, interest and entertain me, that’s for sure.
I'd really love to have a discussion with you about sasukes story arc, I personally think sasuke is a very well written character with justified motives behind some of his behaviours. Great video tho!
I watched a heavily edited version of the Whole Naruto series. It removed all Filler, and Unnecessary flashbacks. Made it a much quicker watch as well. After I finished I went back and picked through the filler a lot of them are very good.
@@xorlux I assume he's referring to Naruto Kai which can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/Naruto/comments/3izru6/naruto_kai_all_episodes/ For anyone wondering how the math adds up, and how they've shrunk some 700 episodes down to 70: Roughly 177 filler episodes out of 429 in Shippuden Roughly 90 filler episodes out of 220 in Naruto Roughly 267 filler episodes out of 649 so far. This leaves them with around 382 episodes of source material. Assuming each episode has around 5/22 minutes of "filler"(Intro\Opening\Recap\Playing the end of last weeks episode for a minute of the first of this weeks) then each episode is roughly 17 minutes of source material. 17*382=6,494 minutes of material. There's been roughly 70 naruto kai episodes to date, which puts them at 92~ minutes each. However, even in "canon" episodes, there's lots of filler spliced in through flashbacks and just unneccesary scenes. Depending on the maker(Since there's been multiple people making Kai), depends on whether they'll leave these in or take them out. OP favours taking them out to maintain a more manga approach to the anime, so that's many more hours of footage taken out. All in all, the math checks out and, yes, there's a TON of filler and these cuts take the series(so far) from ~14,278 minutes to ~6,494.
As far as Sasuke goes I get into it alot with other fans over which point Sasuke became a joke character. For most people its when he betrayed Karin and turned psycho. Its not I will argue for days that Psycho Sasuke was not only the logically conclusion of Sasuke's character arc but also a great piece of masterful writing. Where he fell apart was flipping over to being an anti hero after he heard the same story for the 3rd time in a row and Itachi lectured him. Now the Itachi forehead bump and saying he'll love him forever no matter what he does was touching.(Itachi is legit best character) but Sasuke had already realized why itachi did what he did and thought about it in detail. "You can call me a child ruled by his emotions, thats fine. To me following Itachi's path would have been more childish." "You want me to stop?... Bring my brother back to life. And my father, and mother.... bring my entire clan back and then i'll stop. The whispering of fools who know nothing of hatred. If anyone criticizes the way I live my life than I'll slaughter everyone they ever cared about. Perhaps then they're understand, what its like... a bit of my hatred." Those quotes are chilling and at the same time like Naruto himself said are COMPLETELY understandable. Yes lots of people in Naruto have tragic backstories like Kakashi and press forward anyway. But not all people react to tragedy the same way. Some people become stronger and kinder like Kakashi and Naruto others like Gaara and Kabuto become bitter and hateful. (And it has nothing to do with bullshit curse of uchiha either). His entire life Sasuke was driven by revenge and hatred, very dark emotions very intense emotions. I mean I understood Sasuke when he asked Naruto how he would know what he felt since he was alone from the start and its true its much more painful to lose people you love than it is to be alone. So finally when Sasuke was at his most vulnerable. When he was physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted, for Tobi to drop the bomb he did on him by revealing Itachi loved him the whole time and that Sasuke did infact kill the last member of his family and someone he loved more than his own mom and dad. I understand why he would snap and turn evil It makes sense. It makes more sense for Sasuke to become increasingly unhinged the further he walked down that dark path of revenge. In the end he cared about it more than anything. More than Karin, Juugo and Suigetsu more than himself. I mean his run on the Kage summit can only be called a suicide mission by any measure but at that point I think he wanted to die he hated himself for not realizing what Itachi did and he hated himself for killing his brother. It was masterful story telling but most people can only look at the surface as it being edgelord emo Sasuke.
i agree man, so many people don't look at the series though sasuke's eyes so they don't see his logic. even though something he does may not make sense to everyone else it does to him, and that's what matters
Deathsworn Doesn't mean his character worked well or didn't fit in. yes he was originally a last minute addition but the author adapted his story to fit. Keep in mind Zoro was not going to be in the straw hat pirates initially (one piece) and he's many people's favorite off the group
Naruto series really made me cry 😢 by it's end, Cuz I don't usually get emotional easily. That's why no matter how many anime I watch, I can never forget what Naruto Made me feel.😏
I think you should have also mentioned how they use music during their fights. One of my favourite things about Naruto is their use of music to se the mood and significance of the fight in context. For example 1.Gaara Vs. Rock Lee, they used up beat music just to show you that this series is extreme in its nature of epic fights. 2.Temari Vs. Shikamaru, they used a very slow composition to convey that these characters take their time to strategise their moves. 3. Obivously the last battle, the absence of music, the absence of context - that this last fight doesn't need music just the sound of their fists. That at the end of the day their fight is more else important to them not the viewers that even if none of the events unfolded they would still hang unto their beliefs and they would still clash.
Great video! another reason the naruto fights hit so hard was also because of how it felt like another part of my life was ending.. i know that sounds dramatic but naruto is something i grew up on and for that fight to be the conclusion was something that hit me super hard.
Message to zealous haters of Naruto or any other thing in general: Being judgmental based on some surface-level information or being some bandwagon follower or hater, is one of the worst traits a human can have. Disregarding the merits of something because of the faults, or previous judgements is literally ignorance, and that is something that deserves no praise. You guys/gals are nothing more than extremists with an internet connection.
Naruto himself pisses me off, particularly pre shippuuden. He became more tolerable afterwards, but he still annoys the crap out of me. The most interesting characters are the Deidara, Hidan, Kakuzu and Orochimaru. Everyone tries to act all deep and philosophical. I don't mind when a few look into it, but when everyone turns into some sort of graduate of Philosophy, it gets tiring.

I watched this video before I watched Naruto and when I heard him say that I thought about these videos.
My biggest complain about the series was the way Madara died.
Madara was a great villian, and suddenly he got replaced by the blandest villian of all time, Kaguya.
*TRUTH*
From what I heard, they did that because they had made Madara so damn powerful that they had no idea how else they were going to beat him. But don't quote me on that, I heard that rumor from somewhere on the internet as I had myself given up on Naruto around the time that Madara absorbed all the Tailed Beasts.
Sakura was another downfall for the series, had she been killed off or simply never existed in the first place the series would of been 1000 times better! She's the reason I haven't watched or read the last part of naruto since she gets what she wanted in the end.
Sakura/Chiyo vs Sasori was Sakura at her best.
But she just went downhill after that.
@@wisefelipe
Exactly!
I don't understand when ppl say Sasuke never cared about Naruto and Sakura or never respected them!
Like are you even watching the same show?!
Sasuke went as far as to throw his life away for Naruto subconsciously!
When facing Garaa, he told Naruto to take Sakura and run and he will manage to delay Garaa when he had almost no power left,
He said: "I don't want my PRECIOUS comrades to die in front me" ready to throw his life away to protect them.

The NARUTO soundtrack *CHILLS*
Even though this series was milked to its ends, still is one of my favorites and will be forever.
One of the best soundtracks in Anime
imagine naruto wasn't milked, it would be like 5 seasons and I wouldn't want that
STROKEMEFASTR oh then imagine one piece not milked lol only 2 seasons XD
Aaron Joushua
You...
Weaboo. It's "Believe it !"
During the kakashi obito fight i was balling my eyes out
I think it was a shit fight

Was amazing, and the lead animator actually died "young" because of how overworked he was (not a joke). Now to be salty anime elite snob to defend. Anyone who doesn't like it would rather have over the top animation with NO choreography whatsoever. You may not like everything about it, but to say it was shit, is like saying Van Gogh couldn't draw.
Flying Hipo It maybe was not that pretty but it was fast and the choreography was really cool, ask anyone to do such fight animations they'll do as bad or even worse so now stop hating uselessly.
Pretty Gurl You don't need to say it, this could trigger some people (like me you little b****)

2 weeks?!?!? bro did you sleep???

@@LavenderPi naruto haters are just retarded and salty that naruto clears their favorites in everything and blew up to be so big, also some RUclips memes have been taken too far as the series has now ended for 5-6 years.
The hate is minimal more people actually love the show than hate it. The show has its flaws but it’s one of most popular anime/manga series ever for a reason. Just like dragonball this show has so many memes that are within pop culture as a whole
Just skip the fillers if you're going to watch this anime and you'll love it
But some of the fillers in the original Naruto are absolute classics, you cannot simply just skip them. Filler in shippuden is trash, skip that shit for sure.
Pride Reborn just watch the good filler episodes then
true the itachi filler was great and the fights in that arc where better then a lot of things we had seen in the war arc xd
+Makoto the Pussy Slayer those aren't filler as they are derived from the light novels.
it remained as my favorite anime since 2010 because I always skip fillers
My favorite fight of the whole series was sasuke vs itachi. The whole backstory and explanation of the reasons leading up to that... well no other anime could do that.
yeah the buildup to the fight was basically the entirety of naruto part 1 and a small portion of shippuden too
I was disappointed as it looked cooler in the opening
mustaqim hadi not really
I thought the build up was bigger than the delivery. It lacked blood and darkness
mustaqim hadi
for real man all fights look cool in the opening i was stupid when i was young to believe they were the same e.g fairytail, seven deadly sin, dbz............... you name any anime for me it was my hero academia especially one for all vs all for one it looked sick in the opening but shit when it actually started. all im saying is nearly every opening (not all maybe) is shit compared to the actual fight
dont repeat my mistake
Then he set off on a journey to atone for his sins and learn more about the world.
hes basically the definition of an angsty teenager

Narutards
Yeah and they upped the animation for that fight its also one of my top naruto fights
HxH and Jojos
im sorry but the reason why i droppend jojo after 2 seasons was the overthetop action and incredible plot holes, but yeah they have some decent strategy tho
@@burritodefrijolconchorizo HxH has boring fights. Even boring ass powers are explained in great detail by the annoying narrator or are dumped on the viewer by the characters. The anime thinks people are stupid, that is why it feels the need to explain every boring ass detail.

It's just a shame that the other half of the time, they let their interns write the story and their kids do the animation.
devak Yeah its amazing when you contrast some of the early naruto animation to shippuden. like damn it looks bad.
GenoFour SPOILER ALERT
Aizen and jiriahs lasts fights were pretty good. Gara's fight with the akatsuki was good too, but those were early on in the show.
Naruto has its flaws but, if Gurren Lagann can be classed as a masterpiece, Naruto is definitely one of the best.
Everything has a flaw, also the longer a anime is the more chances of that, so if a anime is shorter than naruto, its not fair to compare....thats one thing people completely forget

If you want an anime fight that tells a grand story, just watch the toilet paper struggle in the Kyuubei Arc of Gintama. Now that is what I call a battle of wills.
BlueWaddleDee amen
I really want to watch Gintama but it's so damn long.
I never really got the "it's too long" thing. No one's forcing you to watch the whole thing at once. Take it at your own pace.
vladthetransilvanian The problem is that I have a tendency to marathon through shows.
The obito/kakashi fight gives me chills everytime.
Jelal Ahmed lol fax he lost so many close people in his life but he still remains strong

I wish Shipudden would never happen. For me it kind of ruined the spirit of the original Naruto.
+Akira_Ackerman lmao no one forced u to watch it dumbass. Shippuden was amazing. Part 1 was perfect. Hate fuckers who watch and complain. All u fucking elitists love long running battle shonen just as much as us

Akira_Ackerman yea after only a couple episodes
Agree. Glad I'm not alone.
pain v n is the goat in anime imo
It was built up terribly

Say what you will about Sasuke. That he is simply the result of an editor saying "Why don't we create a rival character? Every Shounen manga needs a rival character". The Uchiha story line is still one of the most compelling things about Naruto for me. Sasuke's arc may have been all over the place but without it, or at least without his story, I don't think Naruto would've been able to carry his own show.
Dont lump sasuke in with the Uchiha storyline. Sasuke was a bi product of everything Itachi and the Uchiha's went through and doesn't deserve the credit as a character for that. I think Itachi should get most of the credit there, for what he did on a whole.
oO PPH Oo At the beginning yes, but sasuke lost me when he killed itachi and said, "I'm gonna destroy the village anyway."
Itachi's plight of love for both his home and his brother was beautiful in its own way, but then sasuke (and the writers) took a shit on all of that.
To add insult to injury, sasuke turns around and then says, "I'm gonna be hokage." Later shippuden sasuke is fickle and fucking sucks
DoubleSunday Just because he had reason, doesn't make him compelling as a character
oO PPH Oo you need to see jojo
DoubleSunday I'm not saying he lacks reasons. I'm saying he's not compelling as a character
But thats a discussion for another youtube video I guess.
mikael meland Only read to the first sentence of the second paragraph but 100% AGREE
mikael meland very good point. The thing people forget is how personal this show gets and honestly it's beautiful metaphorically. For example all their powers are insanely representations of their personalities. Main characters : Naruto-
all over the place = shadow clone jutsu
- believes the sky is the limit = rasengan/wind style
- has vicious demons =
Nine tailed fox power
Sasuke -
Burning desire = fireball and black flame variants
Dark nature = red sharingan eyes
Believes the corrupted world need to be brought to light = lightning style
Kakashi -
Sharingan = hiding a lot of tough losses
Sakura -
Medical jutsu =wants to heal Sasuke
Strength of Tsunade = is without the one she is in love with and must be strong and independent
Even characters
Obito-
Kamui = always escaping the reality he really wanted
Shino -
Aburame insects = subtle and quiet. Almost unnoticeable like a bug.
Kankuro -
Puppet master jutsu = such a commanding attitude (was even named a captain in the 4th shinobi war)
Neji -
Byakugan style attacks = sees the facts and strikes accordingly
Kidomaru -
Spiderlike jutsu = likes to see his prey struggle
Asuma -
Chakra brass knuckles = cuts out the BS (kinda)
Kurenai -
Flowerlike genjutsu = A rose with thorns
I could keep going it just seems kishimoto made a power for almost every personality type, created a fabricated world where the flow of chakra, nature energy, perception affecting jutsu, and so on, we're given their own sciences and creating an overall statement of how realistic such a place could seem if the circumstances were so. Like.. damn Kishimoto...
Yea, Hunter X Hunter is the closet I think ive seen to fight mechanics and complexity as Naruto.
What is kenjutsu
Its stuff like this that makes me hope Naruto Shippuden eventually gets the Brotherhood treatment and distills the drawn out story into a more pure narrative without the filler.
But that's not comparable to Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA Brotherhood was made because most of the manga still wasn't animated. The Naruto Manga on the other hand is pretty much completely done in the anime.
Dragonball Kai would be a better example.
Raidoton it would be fuxkin awesome to see a naruto kai jesus
The brotherhood treatment would help a ton.
yeah and unlike brotherhood all the material is there, it just need a DBZ kai treatment
If Naruto got re-done without the filler I might actually catch up on it. I dropped it around...the boat arc? I think.
A lot

The part where he stabs his leg to snap himself out of the genjutsu...holy shit, that was intense. Like, actual, pain-killing intense, not, "Oh hey, I was thrown to a wall but I"m cool now"
I've heard about the praise of Kakashi vs Obito. It deserves its praise
I love the idea of the final battle being naruto and sasuke talking like two brit teens and shouting mate at each other.
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttteeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I disagree with is what you say that Naruto barely had subtlety. As someone who has watched pretty much the whole series (including fillers) there are plenty subtle moments to put in shame other shounen like DBZ.
Jimmy Ramos
okay as much as we all love dbz lets admit that its writing was pretty terrible
Tankken Yeah, I agree.
examples of subtlety?
Nike Som-Anya when naruto accepted sakura's request to save sasuke as she was crying for a guy that didnt even give two fucks about her and he held his headband down and smiled because he knew tht no matter what he did she would never be his but he only wanted her to be happy so he promised while in pain to bring home that sasuke dick for her
Jimmy Ramos
You used DBZ as an example, you know, possibly one of the least subtle anime/manga in all of Shounen.
Nadav Aharon thats cuz you are incredibly biased towards Naruto
@@highlion8998 yeah that's call loving something, you fucking mongoloid
thanks bro
just asking, exactly how is it flawed?there are no plot holes(relatively very low amount)if you did some logical thinking and theres just too much lore unexplored ,seriously im not lying its like kishimoto built the story around a world he built with no flaws at all(yeah every story is but this is a special case)
naruto is like a puzzle where there are many unknown pieces but everything getting connected to eachother if you dwell deep enough to the lore
i sound very stupid and biased but naruto is full of easter eggs man,its incredible
My favorite fight is Sasuke vs danzo , Sasuke winning with his sensational insult , "now that's battling with your eyes , do not mock the Uchiha"
The fight was filled with asspulls
The worst fight ever. What the fuck is that ninja cannot count his own eyes by himself? Wtf?. And so many eyes lost by fucking weak attack
i personally liked Sasukes story, he was broken and didn't know what to believe, he went from hating his brother to finding out that his brother cared about him more that anyone else and when he found out that the corrupts leaf village elders are what made his brother do these things he wanted revenge, then he got to talk to his brother and understood why what he did had to happen and wanted to accept everyone's hate as his brother did to make a perfect life for others. again just my opinion but he was torn in a bunch of different directions and to me it wasn't all that bad
Gara vs Rock Lee...hell yeah still my favourite
gonzo191 when rock lee drop the weight it got really hype
gonzo191 that fight was ass lmao gaara's character design made that fight watchable , lol Lee's character design made me want to skip that episode 😂
gonzo191 Because its the best.
The battle is basically a four segmentfight:
Lee trying and failing to blitz him at first.
Wtf? Its as straightforward as it gets:
My brother killed my entire clan -> i want to kill my brother
Turns out my brother was forced to do that by the village -> i want to destroy the village that made my brother and i suffer
My dead brother tells me the whole truth and how he feels about it -> now i know not everything is black or white, to prevent this sort of thing from happening again i must change reality itself
I connected with my best friend in such a deep level that i know he can change that reality for the better -> i want to support my friend
chameze
That my friend was done to highlight how at his core, Sasuke is a scared, lonely, confused child.
convinced
+uo jm please watch *The Conflict and Compromise of Uchiha Sasuke* by craftsdwarf
chameze The broad strokes of his character arc make sense but its all the little moments in between that aren't as good. Almost like the writer knew what big moments he wanted to have, but wasn't exactly sure how he was getting there until he wrote the thing.
sasuke was a great character, people just dont like him as much because it falls into a troupe and i think he had moments and writer knew exactly what to do with sasukes character
if not could you point me some instances where you think it wasnt that good?
People use the filler excuse not to finish Naruto, i understand for ppl who never watched it cuz 700+ episodes is a lot its the same for One Piece and Bleach. Just google a filler free episode list and continue, easy as that. As for the number of episodes i rather 700+ over these 13 episode anime we get nowadays which may or may not ever continue.
Yea the only problem is that naruto mixes in plot with filler later into it to the point its annoying and people get lost.
Brandon Crosby well actually those are flashbacks we seen a million times. The filers are actually in their own episodes arcs that can be easily avoided if one wants.
not every episode.
1:42 MATE. MATE MATE!!!! HAHAHAHAA
Naruto soundtrack is still the best
Mr Holzbein no
Mr Holzbein Well it is good and memorable, but not the best really :P
Mr Holzbein one of the most memorable soundtracks in all of anime.
Name 1 soundtrack better then narutos
Joel Ducram
In terms of "memorable" soundtracks
1- Dragon ball z
2- naruto
3- crap ton of other anime (maybe attack on Titan, or death note for example)
Man, I got emotional...
And dont you dare talk shit about Bon-chan! :'( He's a beautiful angel!
he will never be forgotten
Bon-chan for nakama 2k17!!! ( he still lives right?)
The Okama way shall never fork!
Red Hawk I believe and hope he does!
Last I checked, he's queen of the kingdom that Ivankanov (sp?) ruled over, so he'll be just fine.
If someone can get the name for me, that'd be super.
what about the mighty guy vs madara fight? it had a nice build up whereas the skill-limited character that is guy[no nin-/genjutsu] (and also lee) basically match their only condition to ever go all out and show the world what they r capable of ... guy gloriously passing down to lee (and the viewer) the real value/possibilities of what true willpower can do
Stoeter09 in all honesty, they should have spent a tad more money on the guy vs madara fight. Compared to the two fights he's talking about in this video, that fight was done a misjustice from what it could've been
Noxillius I don’t know why so many people think Guy can’t do ninjutsu and genjutsu. He’s clearly seen doing summoning Justus several times. He just specializes in taijutsu
Neekimu Jardim well before guy did state he couldn’t do ninjutsu and said he was just like lee so that’s why they think that
Exactlyyyy !!!!!
True that 👏🏻
Your right...I think I just became less alone
Not to mention the guilt he would feel at the fact that his older brother believed that no other person in their clan deserved to live more than him
@umar b no you are wrong, his lost his sanity after a certain point. That's what made him crazy and confused, of his goal
@umar b he was... insane. I want you to show me insane people who are always logical.
AsurasPath22 Naruto is my favorite anime but I think bleach has the best fights as far as intensity goes but there is no strategy
Christian Fabien I can agree with that. Bleach had a lot of intense moments, I wish the anime was still alive tho.
AsurasPath22 ya I'm 50 50 on that I miss the anime yet I didn't really like the anime.
One piece has the best story and world building out of the big three
Fucking hell, now I have the urge to catch up on Naruto's anime. I've left since.....what, pre-war arc? Goddamn
John Smith man same! I remember when I fell off and found out how many eps ive missed since the midway point in the war. Man one day I'll have to sit down and just go back in.
Inside Aj Austin
That would require a heck lot of pizza
It won't take that long lol just skip the fillers and you'll be done in no time. The animation quality for some episodes will be below average but surprisingly around the time kaguya appeared in the anime is when the animation starts to get better and better. Id even say the series got better as well as the animation is still good as of now.
Tmac149
Will there be any fillers when the War arc starts off?
search up Naruto Kai (all fillers are removed) so episodes you have left is probably 20-30.
The war arc wasn’t that bad I i don’t think
nobody mention lee vs kimimaro that figth its soo awesome
it was disappointing. imo
It was a little too short but the drunken fist part was absolutely amazing from a simple hand to hand combat point of view.
its good enough but not till reach Great, watch orochi v sasu in jungle, gaara v lee, 3th/saru v orochi(with 2 kage), sasuxnaru1, as comparison
El Hombre Merengue yeah it was badass
great fights in Naruto: (most have great story told in the fights all animated really well).
Kakashi - Zabuza
Hinata - Neji
Lee - Garra
Shino - Zaku
Naruto - Neji
Temari - Shikamaru
Itachi & Kisame - Guy, Kurenai, Asuma, & Kakashi
Choji - Jirobo
Tayuya - Shikamaru & Temari
Kimimaru - Lee & Gara
Sasuke - Naruto (rooftop & valley of death)
Shipuden:
Gara - Diedara
Sasori - Sakura & Chiyo
Hidan - Shikamaru
Sasuke - Diedara
Jaraiya - Konan & Pein
Sasuke - Itatchi
Pein - Kakashi & Choji
Pein - Naruto & Hinata
Sasuke & Hebi - 5 Kage Summit
Sasuke - Danzo
Tobi - Konan
Itachi & Nagato - Naruto & Killer B
Madara Vs Everyone (this is more spectacle than story, but its too damn cool)
Kakashi - Obito
Sasuke - Naruto
Shipudden has 4 more great fights (in my opinion) and double the episodes this is why (at least i think) that shipudden gets shat on so much.
Micah Pheonix saving this for later
Christ, the 3 months on a boat arc. Lmao totally forgot about that. Literal only conclusion to be drawn: Guy gets seasick.
I think worse usage of side characters also hurt Shipudden. There were a few that got good scenes like Might Guy and Shikamaru but most characters felt like they were demoted to the background and thus the many people who preferred them to the main cast were not happy.
"itatchi"
BleepBloopr Ehhh True on DBZ but I can't hate on Dragon Ball cause Naruto was inspired by Goku
No Chill they're not similar at all
Unoriginal RUclips Name search it up
Unoriginal RUclips Name plus, you see the orange cloths
BleepBloopr lmao. Watched only Naruto and then comments this.
Can't believe the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke has been 3 years old now
They need to remake naruto with slightly better quality in animation and artstyle and no filler, and you'll get one of the best shounen anime
Jesus Senpai it is happening
like dbz kai
+Black Rose Source?
The first episode of the remastered hd Naruto anime (which is covering every episode of the original series) is actually airing tomorrow, they wanted to start airing it alongside with Boruto
BennyParedes NAAAAANNIIIIIII?!?
I think you dont even need to describe that Gigguk. Everyone knows how awesoe, emotional, breathtaking, super animated, exciting, intense and perfect this fight was. Of course there are people who will hate.. why? They cant get over it how awesome this is. Those people dont even watch Naruto.. it IS a fact that this fight is the best fight in Naruto EVER!
Not hating, but do not state that something is a fact when it is not proven. It is all but just a cluster of opinions.
That's your opinion but i agree this is the best fight in Naruto.
@@Sutobuto The only fact is that naruto is on the top 3 bestelling mangas of all time xD
Every time I watch one of Gigguk's videos where he compliments an anime I find myself rewatching the whole series again.
People might not realize this but it is actually pretty rare for someone from the anime community to say something good about this show.
Why
I completely disagree about sasuke
I feel he was the most 3 dimensional character developed by the series creator
and the last speech about his motivations for doing what he was going to do felt like he was doing the right thing (from his perspective of course)
Shut up Gigguk, everybody knows that Naruto vs Pein is the best fight! Kappa
It really is even tho the art was not good.
Konan The goddess No dude... no...
Victor A. Gomes Bro that fight was beast
Eh I think kakuzu Hidan vs Kakashi was the best
adrian anane Ay that one was beast. Was up with that sasuke vs deidara tho?
well it has like 1000 episodes minimum so it better have good fight scenes
More than 700 so you're both wrong.
Niels Nattestad then most is filler
Otaku drawer wait for one that cuts out the filler it will at Least half the number if not more
Joe Mattock ok I was.... Sayian
Otaku drawer did you watch one piece???
I get into anime because I love naruto, the story the fighting scene feels very cool and emotional, when I look at some anime there are some good fights but still naruto I would say is the king of fighting scene
Exactly. It took me a long time to enjoy other anime because I’ve always compared its fights to narutos. Sadly hardly few comes close but there’s I also realized there’s more than the fights that make the anime good!
You took the words right out of my mouth, this video is fantastic. The fights in Naruto really never cease to impress, interest and entertain me, that’s for sure.
Now if only Bleach was allowed to end conclusively.... (sigh) Well, at least there's fan fiction to fix that.
Yup. Good ol fanfiction. 90% of it is shit, 10% is good and 1% of that 10% is great.
Bleach has ended in the manga...it was shit.
Bleach has ended in the manga...it was shit.
Shadowizonlyme Yes, we know.
It was shit during the Huenco Mondo Arc.
Awesome Video. I should definitely watch Naruto.
Play the games instead. You get the awesome story without the other bullshit in a fun series of fighting games
Light Yagami Read the manga.
Light Yagami
If you watch the anime, make sure to search a filler free list of episodes so you can cut down the view time by half.
Just leaves his name outta yah little book
Don't watch the fillers great series without filler episodes
I'd really love to have a discussion with you about sasukes story arc, I personally think sasuke is a very well written character with justified motives behind some of his behaviours. Great video tho!
I watched a heavily edited version of the Whole Naruto series. It removed all Filler, and Unnecessary flashbacks. Made it a much quicker watch as well. After I finished I went back and picked through the filler a lot of them are very good.
Can you please link me to the page or video ?
Yea
@@xorlux I assume he's referring to Naruto Kai which can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/Naruto/comments/3izru6/naruto_kai_all_episodes/
For anyone wondering how the math adds up, and how they've shrunk some 700 episodes down to 70:
Roughly 177 filler episodes out of 429 in Shippuden
Roughly 90 filler episodes out of 220 in Naruto
Roughly 267 filler episodes out of 649 so far.
To me following Itachi's path would have been more childish."
"You want me to stop?... Bring my brother back to life. And my father, and mother.... bring my entire clan back and then i'll stop. The whispering of fools who know nothing of hatred. If anyone criticizes the way I live my life than I'll slaughter everyone they ever cared about. Perhaps then they're understand, what its like... a bit of my hatred."
Those quotes are chilling and at the same time like Naruto himself said are COMPLETELY understandable.
Sasuke wasn't originally supposed to be in Naruto, he was a last minute character.. v_v
Deathsworn Doesn't mean his character worked well or didn't fit in. yes he was originally a last minute addition but the author adapted his story to fit.
Keep in mind Zoro was not going to be in the straw hat pirates initially (one piece) and he's many people's favorite off the group
damn, thank you, Sasuke is my favorite character, and the people who just insult him don't understand his character AT ALL.
Scorpion122178 FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, damn i completely agree.
For example
1.Gaara Vs.
Shit I never noticed Itachi's hand at Sasukes chidori. Great Video dude...ur da real mvp
I think most people are justified in their criticisms of Naruto. I'm not a hater, btw, I grew up on Naruto.
I think most anime have things that they do well and things that they don't, but a lot of people like to focus on the negative.
TheRoflcopterGod No one is ignoring the merits of it, but it's not beyond criticism.
For anyone wondering, the song at 6:16 is "Naruto Shippuden Ost 3 - Track 24 Michi wa Tsuzuku". Your welcome.
