Interesting. I'm about the same age as you, and not a big fan of the Beatles...I only ever really listen to 'Abbey Road', but objectively I'd say the creativity in their songwriting from 1966 to 1970 has very rarely (or maybe ever) been matched by anyone, so I wouldn't call them overrated by any means. The fact that they did their stuff in the 60's makes it all the more remarkable since they had very few comparable artists to copy stuff from.
CDs are sadly fading away, it is nice to see your collection. My latest album was only released digitally, and it is so boring. Physical CDs are the best. Greetings from Sweden
i personally just stared buying all the albums related to the music i liked when i was a teen, but i am always game for blues, instrumental, ambience, 80`s, opera and movie music as my real personal joy, because i find those in second hand stores much cheaper and they are always good, finding music from the 50`s that could have been heard in the fallout universe always makes my day.
A lot of people can learn to play an instrument, no one can learn to have a great voice - Neil Diamond's voice is a rare gift! Nice shout out, Brendon!
One benefit of digipacks, even though I’m with you Jewel Cases all the way, even down to the childhood nostalgia reasoning, but digipacks are good because it requires you to take extra special care and it means it can become more easily rarer to have one that’s minty and I like adding as many aspects and levels of coolness like that such as implication of larger scarcity
Essential for listening to music (at least for me) is the quality of the speakers. I can recommend to everybody the Magnepan speakers! They offer the best value for money. I currently own the Magnepan 3.6 set. They are that great that I buy music that I am not really into, but might sound sensational on my Maggies
Great video, Brendon. Thanks for introducing me to Nestor, King Zebra, and RCMC through your mentioning of them previously. While I love my classic bands, I do like finding new bands to enjoy.
I remember chatting with you about Izzy Stradlin and how most of his albums are almost impossible to get. And how cool it would be if he would release those as a box set. It's years ago, but that's why I remember this because I haven't talked about this with anyone else. Cheers from Finland!
Brendon you’re Mum(Mom) sounds awesome, you’ll have to introduce us to her one day. One more question for you, how many CDs does your Mum own. You’re an amazing son. Great channel and Keep Rockin’Brendon 😃🎸
Thanks for a great video, Brendon. My friends don’t really get into music collecting and still buying CDs like I do, so watching your videos makes me feel like I have a friend that relates! Also like that we have the commonality of the Clearwater, FL area, for what that’s worth. Anyway thanks again man, thrilled to see you doing well and watching your subs climb!
Thanks for answering my question and yes I did intend to put it like you have said, and I agree with you, with what you said, I think that despite most artists voices may not sound great from their early days, but it's nice they are still continue, but other times, some aren't as good as others.
Please start inputting your CDs to Discogs Brenden. It’s been the most ridiculously long undertaking for me but it’s been so rewarding. Just tell yourself that for the first few weeks of you chipping away an hour here and an hour there will be boring and burdensome but just do that, just chip away here and there and get like a goal of 25 in at a time. Four days is a 100 albums. Just don’t think about all there is to do while you’re working on the tiny pile in front of you! You can do it!
Hey Brendon, I really enjoy watching these Q&A segments. The reason why I don’t ask questions is because nothing comes to mind, I definitely consider you a friend for sure. A good friend to have my corner. I just want you to know that your channel is the one I check out EVERY SINGLE DAY to see what you are up to. Wednesdays and Fridays I know what you are up to. It’s the other days I like to check in. If it’s not my cup of whatever I’ll skip it. I do also enjoy some movie Franchises: Star Wars the first 6 episodes are great then there were the Disney ones they are okay for what they are. The Bourne Franchise, I hope they’ll be more with Matt Damon at some point. My favorite Soundtracks are: The Secret of my Success and Over the Top. I also like history as well. I have a new Book coming that I pre-ordered before Easter: U2 Song by Song. And it got pushed back until this week. It’ll be released Thursday. I should have it that day. So then I’ll have all U2 songs, Pink Floyd albums, all of Metallica Paul McCartney’s Lyrics and Blackbird Singing and the Beatles It’s a Hard Days write. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Oh on cable A&E they are starting a series on Rock Legends Sunday 9:00 pm. Enjoy. Sorry so much to read. ….To be continued… your pal Bill
This was great, Brendon! I learned some new stuff about you! Did not know about your interests in history, space, and painting. But going back to your architect background and memorizing album covers, I can see how painting ties in with those things. There's actually a lot of musicians (Tico Torres, Rich Robinson, Rick Allen, etc.) that enjoy painting and always found that fascinating because I never thought it made sense, but painting is another art form, so it makes sense to me now.
The only disappointing thing about Springsteens Tracks box, is they released a single disc sampler of the box, but included 3 songs not the box. Wish the box had all the songs. The Who has more comps than studio albums.
You are great sir I know a lot of people who can't enjoy life.Your channel changed some life for sure.I wish you all the best and keep this way all life
I can see where after 300 entries you would just totally get bored with the project I just about gave up on mine but I was able to complete it. I do have a database software that I did purchase because I really didn’t want to put everything up on this, but let me tell you after a while that injury can be very tedious. Fortunately, the program that I use allows you to scan in barcode and if it finds the correct entry, it’ll automatically put it in the database so that saves a lot of time and effort.
I feel the same way about concerts now. I’ll be 30 here soon and I think I’ve my fill. The traveling to and from shows since my area gets skipped a lot is getting old plus the prices and dealing with the annoying people really does affect your experience.
Brendon, I always say this to people who are rubbed the wrong way by Nugent. Imagine being a Conservative and all your favorite bands/artists are constantly telling you how evil you are. I just have to ignore it or I wouldn't have anyone to listen to. :) Love your vids!
Exactly, I just ignore it and don’t read interviews by those artists, but I can still listen to their music as long as they don’t incorporate their political views in it. As far as someone saying someone else is evil, that I haven’t come across and wouldn’t listen to that person.
I agree we’ll said I just think politics should just totally stay out of music after all the people calling you evil like actors, musicians and sports stars have no clue about the real world
Hey Brendon, honestly I love watching your videos... I've followed you since your New York apt days and it's so cool to have watched and continue to see your channel grow... You are like a friend that I don't know in person... Great to continue to know the man behind the music.... I am planning to take a trip from Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦🍁 to New Jersey some time soon, just to pass by The Sound Exchange and hopefully be able to find some cool music there, and have a chat with Anthony... Maybe I'm lucky and I will bump into you too... Keep up the amazing videos... Much respect. 💯👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for taking the time, I really enjoyed this video. You had me at "Midnight Run" and lost me at no love for chicken wings 😉 dry rub! That's the real deal. Even though I go to plenty of concerts, I agree with you about the rudeness of people these days. Especially the idiots who talk throughout the whole show. Cheers!
Great Q & A, Noodle likes Cat Steven’s my guess would have been The Pussy Cat Dolls! Really enjoyed this Q & A! You know you are good when you keep such a large following. Enjoyed this
I enjoyed this video Brendan It's always interesting to find out a person's musical love & hates. If I'm honest, I was surprised that you are a fan of Garth Brooks, but there's nothing with having an eclectic musical taste. Keep the vids coming: I love the record store visits & seeing what you find each week. Hope you don't get too much Beatles back lash!😂
Hey ! So I do this thing where I do a movie theater rental where I rent a screen for 3 hours . And I can stream stuff onto a theater screen.. including RUclips. I watched one of your videos on a theater screen !

Interestingly in comparison to you, I was born in 1974 so grew up in the 80's too, but I've mostly left that stuff behind except for a few, like Metallica, The Cult. Otherwise, I've gone backwards since then, to the 60's and 70's mostly. My 2 fav bands for years have been The Beatles and Zep, plus CCR, Sabbath, Skynyrd, Hendrix, etc. Also love the stuff from back in the Sinatra days. Brendon, i'm a big John Carpenter fan... if you haven't already you need to get into the Synthwave movement in the 2010s. Also although really obscure, there are tons of vintage synth artists/albums i can recommend from the classic era of the late 70s and early 80s. For modern bands that sound retro, check out artists groups like College, Symmetry, Sinoia Caves, etc
Thanks for answering my question! Cool session! Your channel is something i watch everyday! I know you order from Societees and i was wondering if you're happy with them and are they true to size? My first concert was Styx and the tickets were 12.00....i know what you mean. I really love going to concerts but the prices are just ridiculous! Btw...no wings for me either😂
Regarding ripping for backup, you say you don't want to listen "digitally", but isn't that what a CD is? A lossless rip and CD are essentially the same thing on different storage mediums ("hard drive" (or "flash drive") vs. optical disc.
No I mean I dont want to listen and not have a physical album in my hands to read the tracks, look at the art and experience the album tangibly. As I said I don’t mine listening digitally as I have a streaming account with Apple Music.
I dislike pop and dance music such as Disco, I am not a huge fan of KISS prefer Slipknot, I grew up a fan of 90s country music such as Shania Twain and Toby Keith (r.i.p) 🕊️. I love listening to heartland rock 🌽 (I am a Midwesterner), blues rock, jazz, soul and the blues. As a passionate heavy metal music fan, it’s glam metal and recently got into death metal along with discovering local bands in my home area of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I dislike musicians like Bruce Springsteen and John C Mellencamp, who push their political views and really don't listen to them. Good question and answer.
At least Springsteen and Mellencamp aren't t crazy like half the musicians on the right. I don't see what you can disagree with, they care about farmers and working class people and not overthrowing the country.
A bad example for too much "Best of" albums was this years "Best Of Bruce Springsteen". 18 songs representing a 50 years career is absolut ridiculous and useless.
Yes complete useless and there are better collections of his already in existence. I railed on it at the time of release and directed people to other better collections.
The Beatles overrated, Brendon?…Just spin “Magical Mystery Tour”(1967) and let me know after if you feel any different…Thanx so much for the content as always, excellent YT Channel here!
Not only have I listened to all of their albums, I own most of them too including Magical Mystery tour. I did say I like The Beatles…but I can also think they are overrated. What?…There aren’t any bands out there that you think are overrated? Come on man, be real. It’s just a fact of exactly what I explained in the video. Different eras, different experiences, different musical tastes all play into what people like. I Am “not” The Walrus 👍😂👊
Oh, that’s cool Brendon…Just kinda caught me by surprise I suppose, considering that The Beatles were so groundbreaking at the time…But yeah, you’re absolutely right, we are naturally products of our musical environment.
These music labels releasing multiple greatest hits collections should just flat out ask for money donations and stop trying to fleece us music fans with "The very best of the ultimate and greatest hits and essential finest anthology of Aerosmith."
I feel the same way about Eddie Veder you feel about Ted Nugent. If you want to incorporate your beliefs into your music, cool. But the constant bashing over the head with political rants, stoping concerts to shove your opinion down everyone’s throat I can’t handle.
Music being a subjective art, anything can be labeled "overrated" by one who doesn't like the music. That being said, The Beatles are the single largest influence on modern rock and roll and are widely known as the greatest band of all time. In my view, and millions upon millions of music fans, The Beatles simply CANT be overrated.
A great French metal band to check out is Gojira! Heavy, progressive in parts and insanely catchy riffs and headbanging transitions 🤟
As highly rated as the Beatles are I still think they are underrated. They find new ways to blow me away each time I listen to them.

Surprised to see the No Doubt box set up there. Such a good collection.
Why? I love No Doubt and other bands from the Alternative Rock scene of the 90’s.
Well, Brendon, thank you so much for answering my question. I wasn’t really surprised at your answer.

Hi brendon can i ask you are your cd cabinets screwed to the wall and where are you going to pull your cds when you run out of space 🤘
Yes they are anchored to the walls. I’ve located a few more places to add CD shelves but haven’t had them made just yet.
Thanks for being so honest and open. Maybe sometime we could see some of your art??
Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr both played for Trust at different times in the 1980s.

The Beatles overrated, Brendon?…Just spin “Magical Mystery Tour”(1967) and let me know after if you feel any different…Thanx so much for the content as always, excellent YT Channel here!
I Am The Walrus ❤
100% agree about the Beatles, the most overrated band ever. I own nothing by them, never will.
Well......I guess you can still live a decent life.
Do you like Chickenfoot?
Yes of course! Look at the line up!
I feel the same way about Eddie Veder you feel about Ted Nugent. If you want to incorporate your beliefs into your music, cool. But the constant bashing over the head with political rants, stoping concerts to shove your opinion down everyone’s throat I can’t handle.
I would add the antisemitic Roger Waters to that list as well.
@@jasonbullinger2661He is not antisemitic. He is just against the Palestine Genocide
Completely agree about the Beatles being the most overrated bands.
Do you still believe in the moon landing?
I don’t have to “believe” it, it’s fact. There is so much proof that anyone who still thinks it was fake is living in their own private world. 👍
