Stormy, the horse who plays as Spartan actually passed away during production. I couldn’t tell you when or how but they needed a temporary fill in until they could get another trained horse. They ended up painting a woman’s chestnut gelding black to match the look after confirming that he was able to perform the same tricks that stormy could.
I'm not much a fan anymore due to the death of ty Borden. Amy and ty were the top couple of the program, they always knew how to get threw thick and thin when they came face with it, those two brought tears to our eyes, when they broken up. We both cried and cried, got tears in my eyes just thinking about it? Now what? Is Heather gonna leave too? Nah? I'm done with the show, they took one of the best of the best Characters off the show, Amy and Ty were our greatest and now. Amy without tie is the saddest, they ruined heartland, So I'm sorry. It's goodbye for me and the show must go on for you.

The authenticity from the actors when they interact with the horses looks real. This translates off the screen into our living rooms. I love this show.
I have all the books and watched the entire show 😅 Sure there are changes but no movie is 100% like the book. That doesn't make it a bad show (my opinion) What really threw me off when I started watching was the hair 😂 Amy suddenly being blonde and Lou being brunette and having long hair .-.

That's a change. the show ruined the dynamic of the girls estranged relationship with their father (tim) in the books he lives in a whole other country with his new wife and kid. In the show he lives close by instead. Sure i guess that's better for Amy and Lou but I preferred the book's plot for their father, not the show's.

while i'm sure from the tv adaptation from the books, and have enjoyed watching it, i occasionaly whince at some of the factual horse information. granted, over 40 years ago when i too was naive and woefully uneducated, i would have taken it as actual information. and here i am today, after LOTS of education and hands on experience from everything. behavior, diet, boarding, breeding, training, pregnant mare and foal care, wound care, and so many other things. and i still have a horse. down to the last one now. (if i don't manage to wrangle my grandson a nice pony!) an awesome araibian stallion. i did learn while dealing with boarders, just how you can enjoy a show about horses, but don't take it as any kind of actual education. there are some really great resourcess available to everyone.
As much as I love the horses and many different examples of riding styles, I cannot stand watching heartland due to how wildly unrealistic it is - it's certainly a good series, if you're not constantly picking up on little things (like I do)! I did love it before I started becoming more experienced and knowledgeable with being an equestrian. This is all coming from an equestrian and rider of 8+ years, who's also on a behavioural and management course for equine! I'm a bit nitpicky, too, it's the hyperfixation from the tism 😅
There is another lie you see one picture that shows a fake horse in front of a green screen you watch it and there's not a dang thing there about the fake horse and the green screen it was a nice clip but dang it don't lie to get viewers sucked in

But in the books my mum imagined that Tie was just a boyfriend but they break up and don’t get married and he definitely doesn’t die.
