      I may be able to incorporate some of that process in some future videos!
      But for now I’ll say that I just look up whatever magazine I’m looking for on google, save the image to my computer, size it roughly to scale in adobe illustrator (in this case .5” tall), duplicate it for the back side, and print!
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      I would imagine it would mainly be a painting tutorial considering I would most likely 3D print the body of the machine!

      I have worked in the book and magazine distribution business for many years, and these racks look like several I've serviced. Many American drugstores use a very similar rack, with the top shelf holding paperback books.
      Most American newsstands would not have multiple issues of the same magazine title on display, but most people would never notice this! I only did because of my job experience.

    One more realism you could have added would be to put a large piece of scotch tape or something like that over some of those magazines before cutting them out, because magazines often have a glossy finish on the front cover which is basically waxed paper to protect the print.

I know this space is typically crowded with people spouting their opinions on what kind of crenellations your castle should have or why you shouldn't buy "A" companies products because "B" companies' are better lol but just curious on whether or not the type of work/hobby you do allows for idea sharing in regards to your projects because I'd love to see your take on certain subjects and the methodology you employ to receive a particular result. I’d say for the shorter videos, I make miniatures or show techniques that I know I’ll use for an upcoming project. But, also I have to be mindful about how much time it takes to make, since I need to keep posting videos. I’d be open to suggestions from my viewers, but it would have to be something that I would like to make too!

    Did those back panels really need supports? Is the printer you use incapable of printing flat pieces?

    • @smolworldworkshop
      @smolworldworkshop  Год назад

      Technically speaking you don’t need supports to print them. I do for the sake of protecting the print itself, and for print quality. If you print this flat on the build plate, you’ll likely ruin the print trying to scrape it off, unless you have a flex plate. In regards to print quality, again, printing it flat will likely fill in the .025” perforated holes in the panel, especially with the over exposure of burn in layers. It’s more work, but I always raise my prints because I personally find I have the most control over the final outcome!
