We got tore up through the middle even with nsw down to 12 men. I think billy went with three forwards to tighten that up. Nanai can defend in the centres. Put him on latrell.
Finally a QLDer speaking the truth. I respect you for this. NSW absolutely pummelled QLD middle, and Cobbo would have got activated if he was 18th man so it was a waste of a bench spot that could have had another big bopper. There’s a reason Billy didn’t put another back on the bench this time

I think over the last couple of weeks, Latrell has shown that he has the will to dominate his opponents and is fully focused. That was missing the last couple of years. This is an entirely different beast and makes this QLDer a bit nervous.

Good idea getting the origin content out straight away. It’s crazy there is like 0 content for 24 hours after the game from every other channel.
‘Nicho will be back’ is outrageous chat, he got a golden chance this year and got axed, there’s no way he’ll be picked again and if he is, he’ll be the next Mitch pierce. NSW have killed the confidence of another promising half - and they wonder why they have no icons in those positions apart from Joey and Freddy, compared to the legends who’ve worn the 6 and 7 for Queensland.

Hynes can't tackle, yes kicking was off, but anyone who thinks missing tackles in SOO is not diabolical is nuts. Hynes needs to work on his defence. Anyone wrapping Hynes has no idea about the importance of defending well in SOO.

The Yeo debate is crazy - he has one of the best tackle efficiencies and bend the line almost every run up. If he off loaded more we wouldn’t even be talking about it.
See I've never found him to be effective in big games. Lacks mongrel and often overplays his hand in attack. I'd always take Murray and McInnes at 13 over Yeo.

We need Latrell at his best in that squad if we want to win game II - that’s a given. But there was a valid reason as to why he wasn’t picked initially. He wasn’t playing well and he needs to acknowledge that (not sure if he did or not)

Capewell could be the smartest forward I’ve seen play too like a half/coach. Smart enough to know he is still a forward though and to hold off until the games on the line to try anything.

Slater is a great Coach and Madge is a career Coach. Game 1 was not really an indication of Coaching of Madge, due to 12 players against 13. So Game 2 will be a very interesting spectacle, with both Coaches being tested equally on neutral turf in Melbourne.

I would have probably rather had matt burton on the bench over connor watson cause I would much rather have burto anywhere in the outside backs than watson. if he’s being picked specifically as cover. i think robson should be playing 80 and if we are going to plan to rotate on a second hooker it should be api. We have a super flexible forward pack as it is since martin and crichton can play in the middle and murray can shift out to an edge, yeo can obviously play 13 and would probably do a job on the edge too. a lot of these guys are big minute forwards and could probably do 70-80 anywhere on the park too. for me the benefits for connor watson is really just being able to fill the 9 if robson gets injured but robson is so durable that im willing to take the gamble to get burto’s attacking upside and long kicking game. either way it’s still a great side
